Chapter 3

"Baby sis," Kayla's sister said immediately she spotted her.

Kayla turned and saw her sister and immediately she hugged her very tightly, they began a crying competition.

Daisy pulled herself from her sister's grip

"Where's Dad?"

"He's in the emergency room, I don't know what's wrong with him I saw him lying on the floor in the house"

Daisy gasped.

"I pray nothing happens to him we can't lose him"

Daisy nods in agreement trying to shake off the feeling of death.

While they were talking they saw doctors entering the ward where their father was, quickly they looked at each other and returned their gaze to the ward entrance.

Daisy walked up to one doctor and said "Sir, how's my dad?"

"I can't say much because your Dad is in critical condition where hoping things get better, he suffered from a sudden cardiac arrest and was also diagnosed with a stroke as well we have placed him on life support, hopefully, everything will be alright"

Kayla, who followed her sister, was eavesdropping on the conversation between her sister and the doctor. Immediately after the doctor finished his sentence she fell to the floor.

Daisy turned and rushed to her, "Are you alright?"

"Yes, I'm alright, my head just aches," Kayla said touching her head.

Daisy brought her up and placed her on a chair.

Daisy patted her sister's Back, "Mum's burial is two weeks" Kayla told her sister told Daisy.

"Huh," she gasped "why are they in so much hurry"

"I don't know, her people are organizing the burial so they'll do what they like"

Daisy shrugged.

Behind the black shades were Kayla and Daisy with tears behind the shades, and their hearts pained.

They didn't sit with their mother's family, they sat in a different position, all they had was themselves and their father in the hospital.

After the priest made prayers for the deceased they left the coffins of their mother and their grandfather in the grave.

Two good people are gone.

Kayla and her sister hugged themselves, it made them able to calm the rising pain.

After the burial Daisy and her sister greeted a few family members, and Kayla wasn't comfortable.

"Daisy let's leave here, I don't feel comfortable"

"Okay," Daisy carried her as they left the premises.

"I already ordered an Uber"

They came out of the cemetery and got into the Uber that was already waiting for them outside.

They got in the car and Daisy had her hands on Kayla's shoulder.

They didn't need to be told that they weren't welcome in the family.

Why the sudden hate?

As their car moved Daisy caught eye with their grandmother who was watching them.

When she caught eyes with Daisy she quickly looked away.

Behind the smiles Daisy got from her mother's siblings she knew something was fishy.

When they arrived at their home, they observed a few men attempting to install a sign.

Kayla and Daisy were taken aback.

"What are the two of you doing? Kayla dragged one of the men back swiftly, saying, "This is our house."

"You can't touch people's property like that,"

"Miss, I wouldn't like to cause any trouble but I was given an order from Liam's family to do this, the family's name was on the house, please I would like you to let me do my job, I'll advise you don't persist because you might get arrested"

At this point it was clear to them that their mother's family wanted their downfall.

Immediately Daisy heard that she punched his mouth.

He touched his mouth and scoffed, "I'll leave you because I have a sister like you don't push me to the wall, you won't like me.

"If you want some of your stuff, ma'am had already brought them out, so you guys don't have to enter the house"

"Who do you mean when you say ma'am?" Kayla asked.

"I'm sorry I can't disclose that, please, look there your stuff is there" he pointed in a direction.

Daisy and Kayla looked at themselves, they were pained and at the same time, they didn't want to cause more trouble.

Because they were not financially stable.

Daisy refused things from her husband after their divorce because she knew even without him she was rich and comfortable.

"Where do we go from here?"

"Let's look for a cheap hotel" both carrying their bags walking out of the place.

Kayla looked back at her home, and tears fell from her eyes.

They started moving with no direction.

Kayla's phone rang; it was her male friend, Jake.

"Hey girl, how did the burial go?"

It…it went w..well,"

"Are you alright? You don't sound like you're okay"

"We've been sent out of our house, my mother's family has reclaimed their house"

"Fuck no, why would they do such? Those people are evil, why are they being so cruel to you guys do they forget that you're their blood,"

He sighs heavily over the phone "Alright you guys can come to my place, at least for the night, and have some rest, you'll be in danger if you sleep out on the streets"

"Thanks, Jake, but you're house is a bit far"

"If that's the problem you can send me your location and I'll come get you"

"Alright, I'll send it right away,"

Kayla dropped the call and sent her address.

They sat along the walkway waiting for Jake because they were already tired of walking, their tummies were rumbling.

Jake got to the location they sent him, he looked around and saw two people lying on the floor, he approached them they had hoodies on so he didn't get to see their faces easily, he touched one of them and his hand was smacked.

It was already evening, there were street lights on that road but it wasn't reflecting on their faces.
