Trying to escape

Maddie’s Point of View

My patience wore thin as I inched closer to him. Eventually, I couldn't hold back any longer and let out a bone-chilling scream. "Sir, I have no idea what you're talking about, but could you please stop? This act is really starting to annoy me. We're not in a movie, so you can't just pretend like this."

I saw him flinch by my voice, but I paid no mind. I turned my back on him and walked away. However, just as I thought I was in the clear, two men in white shirts suddenly blocked my path, catching me off guard. In the blink of an eye, the man who had kissed me earlier also appeared with quick movement.

How the hell did he do that…?!

"What's happening?" I asked, trying to catch my breath.

"I don't know why you're pretending not to know, but it's really irritating," he snapped, frustration evident in his voice. "I am Alphonse Percival, the Alpha King, and I won't be ignored! Juno! Ajar! Bring her to me!"

"Yes, Alpha!" the two men responded, leisurely making their way towards me.

I released my grip on the suitcase and prepared to make a hasty escape, but before I could even take a step, they apprehended me.

The man with a piercing on his lips spoke to me in a commanding tone. "Luna, do not resist Alpha. The Alpha has been eagerly anticipating your arrival ever since he gained his wolf. It's a pleasure to finally meet you. I am Juno and I am Alpha Alphonse's Beta."

Confused and caught off guard, I couldn't comprehend the strange terms they were using. "I can't make sense of what you're all saying! Alpha? Luna? Beta?" I found myself in a difficult situation, with two men firmly holding onto my arms.

Despite my attempts to break free, it felt like an impossible task. "Don't make me laugh! Are we living in some kind of movie? If that's the case, tell me where the script and camera are, so I can understand what's going on!" I scoffed.

"Go to the packhouse and inform Kendall to keep her locked up in my room. Once the ceremony is over, I'll join you," the man who was calling himself Alpha King instructed.

"You can count on us, Alpha!" Ajar responded.

Frustrated, I squirmed in their grasp. "What do you mean, lock me up?! Are you out of your mind?!"

"We can't reveal her true identity to the pack members, especially since Kendall is playing the role of the fake pack Luna. And let's keep the elders in the dark as well," the Alphonse explained.

Juno and Ajar nodded in agreement. "Absolutely, Alpha! We will follow your orders," they said simultaneously.

Alphonse issued commands with a firm hand, swiftly turned on his heel, and, like a master illusionist, disappeared into thin air, leaving me with a final remark.

How did it happen...? It's almost as if he possessed extraordinary abilities.

I turned my attention to the two imposing figures beside me. Suddenly, Ajar made a swift move that left me completely taken aback and bewildered. In an instant, he dashed away at lightning speed, his footsteps reverberating like thunder in my ears as he sprinted away with the grace of a nimble predator.

I remained frozen in shock, my mouth agape, as a rush of wind swept past me, sending a chill down my spine. I was left speechless, unsure of how to process the sudden disappearance.

I had no idea that they were actually living among us. I had always considered them to be a mere creation of my imagination, a story with twists and turns that I conjured up in my mind. However, the moment I laid eyes on their magnificent fur, formidable claws, and lightning-fast agility, I realized they were undeniably real.

"Luna, let's make a move. Ajar plunged into the packhouse to assess the Gammas and the rest of the guards, as we cannot simply allow you to enter the territory, especially since Alpha Alphonse has strategically placed a decoy Luna to maintain the pack's faith in his leadership abilities."

"Huh?" I stood there, completely dumbfounded, my jaw hanging open, struggling to make sense of the intense and overwhelming scene unfolding before me.

The sights were so extraordinary that it seemed as though my eyes were struggling to absorb it all, from the stunning array of colors to the intricate patterns and shapes. The overwhelming feeling was one of awe and amazement, as if I had been transported to a fantastical realm beyond my wildest imagination.

Then suddenly, Juno transformed into a wolf too and made me ride on his back. Although I didn’t want to ride and go with him, I was afraid he would kill me right at this moment if I tried to escape.

With a sudden gust of wind, he started running, while I remained oblivious to our destination until I fell asleep and the noise drowned.

I had no idea how long he was running, I just woke up with a jolt when we stopped and shifted back to his human form.

The air was heavy with the scent of burnt ozone, and I could feel the warmth radiating from the ground beneath us. It seemed as though I had been transported to an entirely unfamiliar world.

Where in the world am I?

"We've arrived," Juno said, observing my distracted expression.

Juno's attention was caught by a faint rustling sound, and when we turned to see who it was, Ajar emerged from the shadows. This time, he appeared in human form and approached us with a sense of urgency.

Ajar spoke with deep eyes and a hushed voice. "Some of the Gamma are already at the ceremony, and the elders are asleep, while others are still in the mountains, praying to the Moon Goddess."

"Good. Have you informed Kendall that Alpha Alphonse has given orders?" He looked around and added, "I've already mind-link her earlier, but she still hasn't shown up. If she doesn't arrive in five minutes, it's time for you to take matters into your own hands and pick her up--"

"I'm here," a cold voice suddenly came from nowhere, causing goosebumps to rise on my skin.

I could hear soft footsteps approaching us from behind. As the woman drew closer, a strong good smell filled my nostrils, making me feel uneasy.

"He didn't inform me about this," she said, scanning me up and down with her eyes, assessing me. She gave me a piercing side-eye, making me feel like an intruder in her territory. "I don’t believe to your claim that she's Alpha Alphonse's fated mate."
