Chapter 5

Tia

I woke up to my  alarm blaring .  The drive to work was a nerve-racking one , I had so much going on in my head that I got to my  office without even realising it.

“Miss Tia Good morning ,are you okay?”

“Morning Tatiana ,yes I'm fine, just a rough morning ”.

“Well your morning is about to get even rougher". “What do you mean ?”.She closed the office door and sat down

“What's going on ?”.

“So Alissa Jacques used to be a Director here until she was transferred to France where Dominic Chase was . And  she came back a few days ago  and I don't know what happened last night but this morning it was everywhere ”.

“ Okay you've lost me , what's everywhere?”.  “Dominic Chase and Alissa Jacques are engaged ”.

“Well I'm not sure what to say about that but hey to each his own”. “Anyway just a heads up , Alissa is here and whenever a new female joins  the office she likes to walk around and make herself known ,and well tell them hands off her man ”.

“Well she's in for a surprise because I'm not one she should be worried about ” , “Great , I'll get your mail and let you get to work ”. The minute she left  I closed the door and blinds and sat there. That was why he ran out last night. I felt hurt, betrayed ,lied to fucking decived. He was a fucking bastard and ohh would he pay for it.

I was busy working when one of the guys from the mailroom  knocked on my office . “Come in ”. “Miss Sommers ?” .

“Yes ", “A package from Mr Chase's office , I was told to deliver this personally ".  “Thank you Ryan”

After he left ,he forgot to close the door . What was this ,I didn't get any memo about a project . I grabbed the package and started opening it , half way through opening it I felt someone's eyes on me. I knew exactly who it was. When I opened the envelope ,there was a letter inside . A credit card , keys and papers to an apartment complex . What seemed like an NDA . I wouldn't even give him the satisfaction of reading that shit.

I put it all back into the envelope and wrote a simple letter and replaced it and had Tatiana send it back to his office . He was standing right there never taking his eyes off me , I could feel him. I closed my office door and continued working.  Dominic Chase could go fuck himself . I would never submit to him  never.

My mother called me to tell me Alissa showed up at her house and that  just sat wrong with me . I hated that I had to leave her like that but I had to tend to this shit. Alissa and I started  the same way Tia and I did. The only difference was Tia. She  was it, she made me feel ,she made me actually think about setting down and wanting a family.   Alissa was just a one off , and she knew that. I didn't see any danger in it since she was going to continue working in France. But  when she showed up that day at my office I should have known. Now it's almost twelve in the night and I'm heading to my parents house.

When I pulled up the driveway ,all the lights were on, which wasn't Normal . I say  Bennett's car there too ,why would my brother be here?  I parked the car and walked in. “Mom ?” ,“ we're in the living room Dominic ”. I walked in and found Both my parents  , My brother and Alissa.

“I was doing something important and I need to get back , what's the meaning of this Alissa?”.

“Dominic Alissa say's the two of you were having an affair while you were in France is this true?”.

“Yes Dad ”

“Dominic , that's the one rule son ”,

“I know dad but it ended a month before I came back here . I made it clear to Alissa I wasn't serious ”.

“Well you need to be serious Dominic , I'm pregnant ”.

“Excuse me ?”.  “I'm pregnant that's why I came to your office the other day but you ignored me ”.

“I don't believe you ”.  My brother just kept looking at me.  Shit shit shit I just told Tia I wanted her and now I have to deal with this shit.

My parents just looked at me . “What are you going to do Dominic ?”,

“Well she needs to prove it's mine ”.  “That's no problem for me Mr and Mrs Chase because I'm confident it's Dominic ”.

“Very well then Alissa , you'll return to the company tomorrow , As of now Dominic the two of you are engaged until we finalize what's happening here ”.  What “ Dad no ”.  “ It's Just until we get this under control and son stay out of trouble”.

I left and walked back outside . Fuck  Tia was going to hear this what would she think ?. She's going to hate me. I saw Alissa walking out. I just got in my car and drove to my apartment .  I sat drinking and staring at the skyline. Sleep wouldn't fix this shit.  I already had the package for Tia , the keys and papers  to the apartment next door. That way she'd be closer to me. A credit card because I kept runing her shit. And  the NDA I had written her a personal letter after I came back from my parents , I could only hope she reads it.

That morning I really didn't want to go to work , but the minute I walked into the building ,I could tell everyone already knew I was engaged . I had one of the mail room guys deliver it personally and I wanted to see her open it. I headed down to her floor and got there just in time , she didn't look up but I knew she felt me looking . The look on her face said she knew ,she didn't even read it, she just put it back and sent it back to my office. Fuck i needed to speak to her. There wasn't anything else I could do. I headed back to my office and caught the same delivery guy.  “Mr chase a package for you ”.  I took it from him and thanked him.

I closed the door to my office and dumped the contents out . She wrote a letter. I couldn't help but smile when I saw it

“Thank you for considering me Mr Chase but you can go fuck yourself ,stay away from me amd let me do my job ”

She was fiery and I admire that about her ,no woman has ever dared to tell me that . I was still sitting there smiling when Alissa walked in. “What the fuck do you want?”

“I came to see my Fiance”. “I suggest you get it out of your head ,but we won't be getting married despite what my parents say ”.  “I know you Chase , you've already found another toy haven't you. The day I was here I heard you.”.  “You can think whatever you want now get the fuck out I have work to do ”. She just stood up smiling  and left . I hoped she didn't meet Tia cause I had no idea what would happen.

Tia

I called Mel, I needed to talk to her. It was almost lunch hour. “Hey Tia what's up ” , “What's up is I'm  in deep shit here ”.

“Whoa hold on , what's going on ?”.  I told her everything that has happened since that night in the club to when he sent that shit to me.

“Jesus Christ Tia, why didn't you tell me earlier ?”.  “ because I didn't think it was escalate to this , he's fucking engaged Mel ”.

“Do you have any feelings for him ?”, “If I did he ,already killed that shit ”.

“Okay, avoid him and her for the rest of the day. I'll be over tonight and we'll figure something out ”.  “Thanks Mel ”.  After I ended the call I just sat there .   Tatiana peeped in to let me know they were heading to the deli for lunch. If I wanted anything , I just decided to go with them. I could use a few minutes away from here. Our trip was uneventful during lunch. They gave me the rundown of everything that's been going on in the building.

On our way back when we stepped into the elevator Dominic was in there , So was another you lady. I just ignored him .  When we got in Tatiana looked at me and mouthed the words Alissa , I just nodded.  “Tatiana who is this ?”.

“Oh hello Alissa ,this is our Director Miss Tia ”.

“Oh you're the new Girl ?”.  Who the hell even refers to people that way , I didn't acknowledge her.“Excuse me, I asked you if you're the new girl ”.

“I am not new, I've been here almost a month  and neither am I a girl , I'm a woman ”.

“ That's still new to me ”.

“ Well that's your opinion not mine ”.
