2. Owner of Blood
Aneska turned around and looked at the servants behind her who looked normal. Aneska's heart was still beating fast, the sound was like deja vu to her.
“What was that gunshot?” Aneska asked stiffly.
“Oh, that's the sound from the backyard, Miss. The guards used to practice shooting. Miss doesn't need to worry," answered the maid.
Aneska's eyes blinked, the girl's breath that had been held back was now starting to breathe again even though her déjà vu had not completely disappeared. Aneska thought she was used to the sound, but not.
"This is Miss's suitcase," said the servant, interrupting Aneska's bad thoughts about the past.
The servants fell silent.
"Thank you," said Aneska.
“We will be your servants. However, we won't stay here until Young Master returns,” said the maid standing near Aneska.
"Oh okay."
“I am Julie, who will be your maid. So, if you need anything, please let me know," said the waiter while introducing himself.
"Thanks."
“And, I'm sorry, but I'll take your phone,” said Waitress Julie.
This time Aneska was surprised. What does it mean?
"Why?" Aneska asked, not understanding.
“For safety's sake, Miss. That is the rule ordered by the Grand Master. We have been informed by Mr. Zeelar that there will be guests, but you are also asked to bring cell phones and other communication devices. So, we will check your items," explained the waiter.
Even before Aneska asked them to check the girl's belongings, the maid under Julie's orders had already moved in first. Meanwhile, Julie was holding Aneska's cell phone while watching her men work to search Aneska's suitcase which the girl was holding.
Aneska's body was tense, there was something the girl was keeping secret. However, if the girl acted to prevent them from checking all of her belongings, then that would be suspicious, therefore Aneska just kept quiet while watching, hoping in her heart that her secret would not be revealed.
The cell phones, cosmetics, and toiletries that Aneska brought were taken by the waiter, and that made Aneska confused.
“We will take all these out, and replace them with similar ones,” said the waitress Julie.
"But, that—" Aneska wanted to protest because they took all the personal items that Aneska usually used.
"Sorry, whatever the reason, we will still take it," said the maid, Julie. “And this, Miss can use this cell phone to communicate with family, but that's all. If Miss needs anything, please contact us via the landline provided, there are notes for certain calls," explained maid Julie, who didn't look friendly at all.
Aneska had no choice. From the way the maid said it firmly, it was impossible for Aneska to deny it.
"And, Miss can use any room except the two rooms on the top floor."
Aneska's attention followed the movement of Julie's maid's hand which led to the top floor. From where Aneska is standing now in the living room, you can see the top of the door. There are three doors there.
“The middle door is the Young Master's room, and the right door is his study. Meanwhile, the left door is empty. You might be able to use it, but I suggest you use the room downstairs, for your safety too," explained Maid Julie.
Aneska looked at the waiter.
“And, Miss is prohibited from wandering around. Don't touch too many things, and never open the two doors I mentioned.”
Hearing that, Aneska became even more silent. How are his movements restricted? That's the same as going to prison, right?
Oh, could it be….
“Then, we'll excuse ourselves. Miss can tell the bodyguards standing guard outside if something happens.” Maid Julie excused herself after saying that.
Until the main door closed, Aneska remained silent where she was.
It was only a moment ago that the girl made a decision. However, why does his life feel miserable? Coming to a completely unfamiliar family made Aneska think, is this her way of life, just being a prisoner? Oh, come on. Can't Aneska maintain the freedom that the girl gained at the age of seventeen, even though deep inside her heart the pain of the past is always looming?
Pulling the suitcase, and going further into the room. Aneska first to find out which room the girl might be using.
The house is not as complicated as the main house. From the central area, Aneska could see the second floor, on which there was a black patterned iron grille, as well as large pillars that supported the roof ceiling. There weren't many colors in the house, just navy, gray, and white.
"My two favorite colors," said Aneska as she set foot on the stairs while storing her suitcase at the bottom.
The two doors that were forbidden to be opened made Aneska curious. The girl stayed there for a moment, looking at each other in turn, then stepped towards the door on the left to check it.
But when the girl's hand touched the knob, Aneska felt strange. It was as if something was holding his hand from opening the door. Aneska's forehead furrowed in surprise. However, after a moment of silence, the girl decided to just use the room downstairs. For some reason, the second floor makes my stomach hair tingle. There's something strange about the second floor.
After choosing a room not far from the stairs, Aneska lay down on the soft mattress and fell silent. Not only was his body tired after landing in his homeland, but he also received a surprise when he got home. They didn't even give Aneska a drop of water,- but instead conveyed the decision to sell her to someone. After that, Aneska had to leave again, leaving the house where the girl grew up.
Tired and confused, Aneska finally fell asleep without knowing what was happening outside. Nature slowly lifts the curtain of darkness, along with cloudy clouds. Aneska didn't care about the previous natural conditions because her mind was so confused after hearing the shocking conversation with her adoptive parents.
I don't know what time Aneska woke up. Inside the big house, it was just quiet. After a few moments of silence to gather her consciousness, the girl got out of bed and left the room because her stomach felt hungry.
The magnificent house was shrouded in darkness and silence, only a few lights were left on, and the rest relied on moonlight coming in through the giant glass windows.
Aneska passed the stairs near Edwin's room on the second floor. Nothing unusual. The girl continued to walk towards the kitchen, hoping there would be food there. Aneska looked at the clock, eleven o'clock at night. But thankfully there was already food on the dining table, so Aneska didn't need to call the waiter.
After washing her hands in a sink not far away, Aneska ate heartily. However, in the middle of her activities, Aneska heard footsteps. The girl turned her head, and a flash of shadow flashed. The girl's body suddenly stiffened.
"Who's that?" asked the girl.
No answer.
Take the glass and drink it until it runs out. Aneska got up from her seat,- and took the fork she used as a weapon. His feet stepped into the shadow.
"Is that man at home?" Aneska thought.
But in the darkness, Aneska's eyes saw a shadow walking hastily, Aneska followed with curiosity and fear. No outsiders are allowed to enter, this house has strict security. However, if someone could sneak in like that, then was no ordinary person.
The girl looking around. There's no one there.
Aneska stopped, her bare feet felt a wet and sticky sensation. The girl looked down to make sure then screamed. That's blood! Aneska sat down, covering her mouth. His eyes wandered to where the blood trail led.
The girl's heart was beating fast. How can there be blood? Whose shadow is that? Aneska wiped her feet and started to stand up slowly. The girl looked around again looking for help.
Nothing, empty. There was only that girl there.
With her body shaking and feeling upset, Aneska dragged her steps following the trail of blood that was getting wider and wider toward the top floor. The girl slowly climbed the stairs with her hands tightly holding a fork that could be used as a weapon.
Second floor, large room with black door.
"Oh, no, Edwin's study! The door is open." Aneska exclaimed to herself.
The girl approached the door, and cautiously entered the room, brandishing a fork, alert. There were traces of blood at the front of the room.
"Who are you?" the girl is screaming. "What are you looking for here?"
Blank.
Aneska turned her body to see the whole room, but the image disappeared.
With her fork still raised in the air, Aneska slowly leaned against the wall and turned on the light switch. The bright light that suddenly blinded her eyes made the girl squint.
Now, Aneska can see the blood marks more clearly.
However, the girl's eyes widened completely when someone covered her mouth from behind. Not only that, the thick smell of rust wafted right under Aneska's nose. Sticky and wet, just like the blood Aneska stepped on earlier.
“W-who are you?” The voice whispered heavily in Aneska's ear, whose body was tense.
The man was the owner of his blood, and who was that person? How do get in? Aneska couldn't move, she even held her breath because she wanted blood to be so thick.
There's no way that guy...
