3. Secret Box in Books
Aneska is not an ordinary girl. There are some things that the girl hides even from her adoptive family. One of them is self-defense which the girl has learned since she was at school.
Unable to stand the thick smell that hit her nose, Aneska pulled the man's hand quite hard.
Bugs!
After that, there was a loud thud of a body hitting the floor of the study, accompanied by the muffled groan of a man who fell in front of Aneska.
“Argh!” The man writhed, causing more and more blood to seep from his stomach area.
Aneska herself was stunned, shocked, and confused.
The girl's attention was drawn to the door when she heard the sound of footsteps approaching, and soon the door opened wide. Two men in black suits appeared and immediately approached the man who was still lying in pain on the marble floor.
"Young master!" One of the men call him, and immediately helped the man. “You okay, Young Master?”
However, those asked only responded with grimaces of pain. The two bodyguards looked at Aneska.
Aneska's body grew stiffer, confused by the guard's intentions.
"Young master?" the girl repeated. "Don't tell me that—"
“What did you do to Young Master?” asked one of the guards.
"I... I don't—" Aneska wasn't sure what to say. Just now, his body just reacted and dropped the man without knowing who the man was.
“I will ask for help.”
But the young master instead grabbed the bodyguard's hand, weakly stopping him.
“But you are injured, Young Master. So, I -"
“Don't argue. That is an order!” said the Young Master firmly.
"But -"
"Enough!" interrupted the man. “Help me to the couch.”
The bodyguards were immediately alert and helped the man move to the sofa. From the man's labored breathing, it seemed like the injuries on his body were quite serious.
Aneska just sat there, increasingly confused about what to do.
"I -"
Suddenly the three men turned their gaze towards Aneska.
"Who's he?" the man asked quietly.
"Master Zelaar ordered her to stay here, Young Master Edwin," answered one of the guards.
"Father? Why – Ugh!” Edwin groaned softly.
Aneska took a step forward, but the guard's gaze stopped her.
“I… will not do anything wrong. But, you have to stop the bleeding first. Or he—"
"What can you do?" the guard interrupted angrily.
Because of Aneska, their young master was getting hurt even more.
"I can treat it," Aneska admitted in a doubtful voice.
No one answered, the two bodyguards looked at each other, then back at the girl.
"You, can you stop the bleeding?" Edwin asked in a low voice because of the pain.
Aneska nodded quickly.
"Then you have to take responsibility."
“But Young Master –”
"Enough. I can not stand it anymore. "You can go out, please don't make a fuss," said the man.
Of course, the two bodyguards were doubtful.
"I'm on guard, you come out, Ramli," said one of the guards.
Ramli, the bodyguard Aneska saw standing guard on the terrace, nodded and immediately obeyed her orders. One of the guards looked at Aneska sharply and approached her.
"Can you stop the bleeding?" the bodyguard asked.
Once again Aneska nodded her head.
"Then do it," said the guard in a commanding tone.
However, Aneska turned towards the door. Of course, this made David, the bodyguard, stop the girl in her tracks.
"Where are you going?"
"I... will go to the room first to get the medicine box," answered Aneska.
"There's also a medicine box here," said David fiercely.
"But -"
"Just do as I say, and treat Young Master Edwin before anyone finds out he's injured," David emphasized.
The man pushed Aneska's tiny body towards Edwin who was lying on the wide sofa. Even though she was hesitant to approach, Aneska finally squatted down next to Edwin, who looked in pain. Sweat trickled down the man's face and neck.
Showing a bit of the shirt the man was wearing, Aneska frowned until her eyebrows came together.
“The wound, is quite deep, and needs to be stitched up," explained Aneska while observing the wound around the man's stomach.
“Stitched up? Isn't that supposed to go to the hospital?” the guard said.
"Don't kidding. I don't want to. Just carry out wound care as usual," said Edwin.
“But Young Master –”
"Stop it! "I'm not going there," Edwin interrupted again.
The guard sighed.
Aneska focused on the wound while notice scratches in the man's stomach.
"Hey, you," called Edwun.
The girl looked up and looked at him but not for long.
“You said you could stop the bleeding, right? Then do it immediately," ordered Edwin.
“Stopping the bleeding without stitching up the wound will consequences, so we have to –”
“I said, just stop it!” Edwin exclaimed angrily and his head dropped to the sofa, his breath coming out in short gasps.
Aneska didn't say anything but got up from her squat. The guard again stopped Aneska who was about to leave.
"Move! Or your young master will lose a lot of blood," said Aneska.
However, David's stance as a bodyguard was very firm. Aneska sighed.
“Give me five minutes. I will return with my equipment, and treat your young master. Or -"
“Leave the girl, David,” said Edwin.
After a few moments of staring at each other sharply, David allowed Aneska to pass even though it was forbidden. The rules in the southern house are stricter than in the main house, especially for foreigners.
Aneska returned not long after. However, what the girl brought was not a medicine box or health box, but a very thick and large book. It was clear that David was looking at Aneska increasingly intently, feeling like he was being played by the girl.
"Let me finish the treatment, after that I will explain it to you," said Aneska, trying to stop the movement of David's bodyguard who was about to snatch the book from Aneska's hands.
Edwin's voice sounded heavy, telling them that someone was injured there.
Aneska averted her gaze from David and approached Edwin again. With the medicine box in the room, Aneska opened the book she was carrying. But miraculously, when the cover was opened, what appeared was not a piece of paper with writing as usual. On the cover of the book, there are tools commonly found in the operating room.
A book that was transformed into Aneska's medical equipment box succeeded in making David speechless.
"I will inject you with an anesthetic so it doesn't hurt so much," said Aneska.
There was no answer from Edwin.
The girl put on rubber gloves and got to work. He deftly and painstakingly treated Edwin's wound, stopped the bleeding, and stitched up the fairly deep wound. Aneska was fully concentrated so as not to make a mistake. From the way she moved, it seemed like the girl was quite experienced in stitching up wounds, and even seemed used to the operating room.
Who is that girl?
