5. Stuck
Edwin lay helpless on the cold floor in front of his study door. David approached the body and immediately turned his young master's body around.
"Young master?" Davin said the name of Edwin who was unconscious in his lap.
Aneska squatted beside Edwin's body and immediately checked the man's consciousness.
"He fainted, it looks like his wound is a little infected," explained Aneska after checking Edwin's condition from his pulse, heartbeat, and eyes.
"What do I have to do?" David asked worriedly.
"Take him to the room, I'll check again later," said Aneska confidently, but David was the opposite. “Come on, there's no time. Move him.” Aneska helped David support Edwin and entered the man's room.
After making sure that Edwin was lying down, Aneska quickly went to the room and took her secret equipment. Even though it is in the form of a book with a business title on the cover, inside there is a medical equipment box. Aneska carries a stethoscope, syringes, and simple surgical tools for emergencies. Aneska has it all.
“Don't ask, don't interrupt. Let me focus on my work if you want him to be okay," said Aneska before starting her activities caring for Edwin.
David complied, standing two steps from the bed. Aneska checked Edwin's semi-conscious level and began to check what was wrong with the man. Edwin's body experienced fever, increased temperature, and cold sweat. Aneska didn't know what the man was muttering because the girl was only focused on what she was doing.
After struggling for a moment with her secret tool to help Edwin, Aneska has now finished checking and put the IV tube into the man's hand, who is now starting to calm down. Aneska took a deep breath.
"He'll be fine now," said the girl, looking at Edwin's pale face.
"Are you sure?" David asked doubtfully.
Aneska turned to look at the man, it was clear that David didn't believe Aneska.
“I know you don't believe me, but at least his condition isn't serious. Should I show you my doctor's license, my work history at the hospital, or what I have learned for you to believe me?” Aneska said angrily.
David's gaze did not change, it remained cold and expressionless, making Aneska take a deep breath.
“As you wish, I don't care. I don’t even know why it’s here.” Aneska packed her equipment and left the room after telling her bodyguards to immediately look for her if something happened to Edwin.
Strange places, houses, and everything foreign to Aneska made the girl silent in front of the bathroom mirror. Aneska thought that by taking a shower, her mind would be clear. In her mind, Aneska remembered what she had experienced before coming to this big house. The enthusiasm that Aneska felt when she arrived at Morphile International Airport evaporated as soon as she got home, and she was instead asked to replace her adopted sister.
“I don't know why my life is like this. Is the happiness I want too far?" shouted Aneska as she took off her clothes to shower.
After a while in the bathroom, the girl came out with a towel wrapped around her body, and her hair was also covered by a towel. The girl walked to her suitcase to look for nightgowns. Because she had just arrived from abroad after five years, Aneska only brought one suitcase of clothes and other necessities confiscated by the servant. The rest of Aneska's belongings would arrive in a few days via delivery service.
The girl turned her head when someone knocked on the bedroom door, but no sound was heard.
"Wait a minute, I'll get dressed," said Aneska then walked into the dressing room to change clothes.
As quickly as possible, without seeing what was wrong, Aneska rushed out of the room, worried that something had happened to Edwin, who had fallen asleep after Aneska gave him painkillers, and had a fever.
Without thinking, Aneska opened the door with a heavy breath because she was in a hurry. David stood there with his eyes downcast because the girl was only chest high, but David's eyes widened slightly, and then the man immediately turned around. Aneska was surprised to see him.
"What is it? Why did you turn around?” the girl asked.
"Your clothes," David answered briefly, and that was enough to make Aneska look at his clothes.
The buttons on the pajamas the girl was wearing were not buttoned properly, making her chest slightly visible. Panicking, Aneska closed the bedroom door and immediately fixed the buttons on her shirt while muttering incoherently, the girl's cheeks flushed with embarrassment.
“Ugh, how embarrassing. You're stupid, Aneska," muttered the girl in the room.
Taking a deep breath and gathering the courage to open the door again, Aneska peeked out of the room to see whether her bodyguard was still there or not, but it turned out that Devid was still there, standing with his back to the door. Aneska immediately fell silent, for some reason seeing that sturdy back made Aneska's mind return to the past, beautiful memories of someone.
Taking a deep breath and preparing to tell David, Aneska cleared her throat slightly.
“I will guard outside, you guard Young Master. If anything happens, immediately notify me at the door," said David then walked away, leaving Aneska holding out her hand.
Fall silent. Aneska became confused because of this. What's wrong with that guy?
"You're strange," Aneska muttered, chuckling as she watched David leave.
The girl sighed again,- while watching the man leave.
"What can we do about it?" Aneska had no choice but to comply even though she didn't want to, but considering that she had slammed Edwin's body to defend herself, Aneska indirectly caused the man to get hurt too.
Open the door to Edwin's room slowly and enter carefully. Aneska could see the man lying on his bed. Aneska paid attention to every corner of the man's room, which was quite spacious, complete with fresh furniture, and dominated by gray and navy colors. Aneska knew Edwin's condition so she walked slowly while looking around.
"Quite minimalist and masculine," muttered Aneska, assessing the man's room.
After being satisfied with her assessment, Aneska checked the dosage of the infused water.
“Lucky I brought this even though there's only one left. Hopefully tomorrow will be fine, that way I won't have to look for an IV drip again," said Aneska while sitting in the chair next to Edwin's bed.
The man looked calm even though there were dry spots around his face. Aneska didn't know what was wrong, but Edwin's forehead seemed to be furrowed as if he was dreaming or in pain.
"I've confirmed the medicine, and the dosage is right, you should be fine, but you seem to be in pain," commented Aneska while watching Edwin's still-understanding face.
Getting up from her seat, Aneska wanted to go to the bathroom to get a small towel and water, maybe by compressing Edwin it would improve a little. But the girl's steps stopped.
"Don't go," said the deep voice.
Aneska was silent, for some reason the touch of Edwin's hand made her chest flutter. The man's voice sounded pleading.
