6. Don't Agree

Aneska moved her eyelids when the bright light disturbed her sleep. Slowly the girl opened her eyes, and sunlight from the window greeted her. The girl averted her gaze while moving, her body felt sore from sleeping in a sitting position, with one hand on the mattress. Aneska's forehead furrowed, remembering before going to bed.

Aneska's shoulders, neck, and back felt sore. Edwin didn't let go of Aneska's hand last night after holding it, and the girl fell asleep there, sitting on the velvet carpet, one arm raised, and her head resting on his arm. Even though Aneska is used to it, it still hurts. Forget the pain almost all over Aneska's body, the bed is now empty. The girl got up and looked for the figure of the owner of the room. On the bed, there was only an IV tube that had been removed.

"What are you looking for?" A deep and hoarse voice from in front of Aneska interrupted the girl who looked a little panicked.

Edwin was standing near the window, Aneska didn't notice. The man put his hands in his trouser pockets, staring coldly at the approaching girl.

"You are okay?" Aneska asked.

The man didn't answer, just looked away and fell silent again. Aneska noticed that Edwin looked fine, but Aneska was not sure because the wound on the man's stomach was not light.

"I'm fine, you can go," Edwin's voice came back and shooed Aneska away, but the girl remained silent.

"I'm not sure. Your wound—" Aneska immediately fell silent when Edwin's sharp gaze fell on her. "Okay, I'll go out."

“You'd better be quiet.” The cold voice stopped Aneska near the door of Edwin's room and was about to leave. "If you want to stay safe," continued the man.

Silence, Aneska was a little distracted, then turned around.

“You think I'm here of my own accord? No, Young Master. I don't even know why I'm here. If you don't like it, just tell your father and ask him to take me home," added Aneska then opened the door and left Edwin where he was.

The man stared at the door of his room expressionlessly, but his sharp gaze implied something.

Aneska decided to take a shower. Edwin annoyed Aneska in the morning,- and made the girl talk to herself in the bathroom while she was sleeping, venting her frustration.

"I've taken care of him, but no thanks, is he human or demon? How annoying."

Aneska doesn't understand why she has to meet a cold figure like Edwin. The girl took a deep breath and decided to finish her morning shower, change clothes, and get ready to go out. Aneska was determined to get an explanation from the man who was the big master of the house.

The house was quiet, even during the day. Aneska glanced right and left to make sure there was someone there, or a servant so she could ask how to meet their great master. However, Aneska's footsteps stopped again when she was in the living room which was attached to the dining room. Not only was breakfast served on the dining table, but the black aura emanating from Edwin made Aneska reluctant to come closer.

"Sit down, I want to talk," said the man, stopping Aneska from leaving.

“I don't think it's necessary. There's nothing I want to talk to you about," answered Aneska in a curt tone.

“Don't you want to get out of here? I can get you out.”

The man's words succeeded in making Aneska turn around, but remained silent considering the offer from Edwin who was watching from the dining table.

"Okay." Aneska agreed and walked towards the dining table to join in breakfast.

Edwin didn't say anything, just enjoyed a cup of coffee quietly, and so did Aneska even though there were many questions on her mind.

There were sandwiches on the table, and Aneska took one for breakfast, filled her stomach so she wouldn't be hungry later, and poured her a glass of orange juice, but the girl's attention was focused on Edwin's cup.

"What is it?" The man noticed Aneska's gaze.

"Oh no. Are your wounds okay?" Aneska asked while taking a bite of her sandwich.

"Yes," answered Edwin briefly.

They were still strangers, but a little interaction wouldn't be a problem, right? Aneska just nodded her head, feeling doubtful about the man's answer because Aneska knew the extent of the wound on Edwin's stomach.

"Don't move too much, or the stitches will open again, you'll be in pain, and—" Aneska fell silent, biting her lip when Edwin looked at her coldly.

Trying to avoid him and just focus on breakfast, Aneska always remained silent when she saw the man's flat and cold gaze.

"Are you a doctor?"

The girl coughed when she heard Edwin's question, and the man handed Aneska a glass of water. The girl thought Edwin didn't like people talking a lot or something.

After feeling calm and wiping her lips with a tissue, Aneska looked back at Edwin. For some reason, the girl always wanted to see Edwin's cold and flat face, even though it always made her fall silent for a moment.

"Yes. "I studied medicine in secret," admitted Aneska.

Edwin looked at him confused.

"You don't need to know," the girl said, looking away.

"Then what's your name?" Edwin's question again made Aneska look at him and was silent for a moment.

"Aneska, you can call me that," answered Aneska, looking at the remaining pieces of her sandwich.

"Okay Aneska, take care of this."

The girl's face looked up when Edwin just looked away, then left after saying that, making the girl speechless in disbelief.

Did Edwin tell him to clear the table?

"I'm not a maid, damn it," cursed the girl as she glanced sharply in the direction Edwin had disappeared.

Even so, Aneska still does it. The experience of living independently abroad turns out to have advantages too. But that doesn't mean are worthy of being a servant.

After breakfast, Aneska spent time in her room without paying attention to the young master who owned the house. The girl pondered for a long time on the queen-size bed, which was quite spacious and magnificent for Aneska, who was used to living simply.

Before Aneska left her adoptive parents' house, they said that if Aneska went and became the young master's wife, it would be easier for her to find out who killed her biological family many years ago. Aneska's pain and desire to know what happened at that time made Aneska filled with anger. But there are times when the girl forgets everything. However, Aneska's adoptive parents only brought up the issue after the girl returned.

"What does it mean?" Aneska asked herself. “It's impossible to just persuade me to replace Anevay who should be here. How much do they know about the incident?”

Rich people, or even billionaires, can do everything with money. Aneska never thought of digging up the tragedy by spending some money. All this time, Aneska has been secretly researching and honing her skills so that one day she can face a reality that does not match her expectations.

Aneska's entire reverie was interrupted when someone knocked on the door from outside her room. The girl got out of bed and walked to the door to see who was coming.
