9. Accepting the Challenge
The next day, Aneska returned to follow Edwin who was going to the main house for lunch. Nervousness invaded Aneska's chest again, making the girl sigh repeatedly.
Edwin watched for a moment at the entrance to the main house.
“Can you do it or not?” Edwin asked in a firm voice.
Aneska raised her face and looked at Edwin's flat face with no expression at all. The girl swallowed hard,- and nodded stiffly.
"But, I'm not sure now," Aneska admitted, feeling there was no point in lying if her nervousness was obvious in Edwin's eyes.
"Don't worry, I will help you," said Edwin.
Aneska's eyebrows furrowed.
"How?" asked the girl curiously.
"Let's see later. Come in, my mother doesn't like waiting," said Edwin as he turned around.
Aneska clicked her tongue in annoyance,- but followed Edwin who had entered the main house.
In her heart, Aneska wondered what Edwin's mother was like. Yesterday Aneska didn't have time to listen to Julie's answer when asked what the hostess was like.
Laughter came from the living room. Aneska frowned again, wondering why there was a woman's voice. Could it be Edwin's mother's voice? But, Aneksa is not sure. Edwin himself stopped walking and turned to Aneska.
“You have to be prepared,” reminded Edwin.
Aneska rolled her eyes at Edwin, then took a deep breath and prepared to do her job. The girl will act now.
After making sure Aneska was ready. Edwin stepped back into the living room.
In the living room, three people were sitting on the sofa, two women and one man who was none other than Alendra. Aneska spontaneously nodded briefly at Alendra. With the freedom given by Edwin, Aneska is determined to successfully carry out her duties.
The two women got up from their seats. Aneska saw that one of them was a girl who looked young, with long, slightly reddish hair, and looked charming in a sexy short dress. Not only that, the girl's shoulders also appeared wide open, showing her refinement. It couldn't be Edwin's mother.
A woman standing next to Alendra looked elegant with her hair tied tightly and the knee-length dress she wore further showed off her figure. His attitude was calm, even looking at Aneska who was following Edwin. The woman's face was almost identical to Edwin's, her lips, eyes, and almost eighty percent similar to Edwin's, it was clear that she was his mother.
“Edwin!” shouted the girl in the sexy dress as she ran towards Edwin with her arms spread wide.
The girl has a beautiful voice. The knock of the girl's helmet on the floor echoed in the room. With a big smile and sparkling eyes, the girl immediately hugged Edwin, who remained in place with both hands in his trouser pockets. The girl looked very happy.
Edwin was hugged, and Aneska's body stiffened.
"What, you're not happy I came?" asked the girl while looking up.
There was no response from Edwin which made the girl frown, but did not show an attitude of giving up. The girl's attention then focused on Aneska who was still standing behind Edwin.
"Who are you?" asked the girl without removing her hand from Edwin's arm.
Edwin turned to Aneska who showed a sweet smile.
"Hello," said Aneska friendly, but instead received an unpleasant response from the girl who immediately changed her happy expression to a dark one.
"Edwin, who is he?" asked the girl while shaking Edwin's arm affectionately.
"My lover," answered Edwin briefly.
"WHAT?" The girl was shocked.
The girl was silent, focusing her gaze on Aneska, and the glint in the girl's eyes looked very sharp. Aneska didn't understand what he meant, but the girl's expression was different now.
“Tell me again, what did you say?” The girl asked again in a demanding tone.
“You heard clearly. This girl is my lover," said Edwin as he put his arm around Aneska's shoulder and pulled the girl next to him.
“W-what… you… how….” The girl's expression turned angry, but she was also on the verge of tears. "You're lying, right?"
"No. We even slept together," Edwin said casually.
Aneska looked at the man in surprise. It wasn't in their plans. However, Aneska immediately understood what he meant, and the girl showed a proud smile as she placed one of her hands behind Edwin's waist.
"I don't believe it," said the girl, looking at Edwin sharply. Her bright red lipstick-polished lips were pressed, her jaw was set, and she looked angry.
But Edwin didn't change, returning the girl's gaze coldly.
"I don't believe it. "Auntie said you don't have a lover yet, so I came to be your lover," said the girl whose name Aneska didn't know.
"Why are you so confident?"
"Because,- you will never go back to that bitch again!"
Edwin's expression darkened, the man's jaw tensed, and his gaze became sharper.
Aneska could even feel Edwin's strong grip on her shoulder,- and could feel the man's anger.
"You mean, I will never open my heart to any girl, right?" Edwin asked in a cold tone.
"Yes! Only I will be your lover!"
“Tch! You're so confident!" rebuked Edwin.
"Then prove to me that you are serious."
The girl smiled triumphantly,- as if Edwin couldn't possibly accept the challenge to prove that Edwin was serious about Aneska.
Aneska herself could feel the hesitation from Edwin's touch on her arm. Aneska didn't know what happened between Edwin and the girl when things suddenly got heated. Alendra or his wife did not interfere at all. They just watched in silence.
What should Aneska do now?
But suddenly Edwin removed his arm from Aneska's shoulder, which made the girl's face smile even more, clearly triumphant, as if she already knew what Edwin was like. However, a minute later the winning smile turned into surprise.
Aneska was silent, her body stiffened when Edwin's full lips gently touched hers. Aneska swallowed hard. What did Edwin do? Prove that the man is serious about the relationship.
The kiss changed slowly, from gentle, soulful, to aggressive. Aneska was overwhelmed by the movements Edwin made on his lips. Automatically, the girl put her arms around Edwin's neck and responded gently to the man's movements.
"Sweet," thought Aneska, and started to get carried away.
Edwin even pushed Aneska's body to sit on the arm of the sofa without releasing her lips.
However, according to Aneska, this is too real for something called acting. What's wrong with Edwin? Aneska could feel various feelings in Edwin's touch.
A few moments later, Edwin finally stopped his movements-, but did not move away from Aneska's face, who was catching her breath due to Edwin's sudden kiss.
Aneska wanted to know how the girl would react, but Aneska's gaze was attracted to Edwin's irises,- and was fixated on something that trapped her like a charm.
