Chapter Three
Chapter Three
“You're so beautiful!”the old lady exclaims as she puts the final touches on Bella’s hair and makeup, shaping her eyebrows l
Bella's head spun with disbelief as she found herself thrust into a world completely foreign to her own. It felt like just moments ago she had been immersed in the familiar routines of her own pack, dutifully carrying out her daily tasks amidst the oppressive atmosphere that permeated her existence. And now, here she stood on the threshold of the Red Moon pack territory, about to be introduced to a community she had never imagined she would be a part of.
With a deep breath to steady her nerves, Bella squared her shoulders and prepared to face whatever lay ahead. She knew that stepping into the spotlight of the Red Moon pack would mark the beginning of a new chapter in her life, one filled with challenges and opportunities alike. And as she braced herself to meet her new packmates, Bella resolved to embrace this unexpected twist of fate with courage and determination, ready to carve out her own place in this unfamiliar world.
In the mirror, the door opens behind her and the men comes in, dressed in a perfectly fitting black tuxedo that I bet never saw a rack. “
“Could you give us a minute before we go out there?” Leo asks her the old lady .
She nods. “Sure, I’m all done anyway. Congratulations, Bella . I hope you have a wonderful wedding.”
“ Your father wish to speak to you “ Leo said as he departed
Bella stood, the heavy silk wedding dress swirling around her legs. It’s the most beautiful thing She has ever seen in her life, and probably cost enough . But She don’t want it. She doesn't want any of this.
Zane —She can’t bring myself to think of him as Dad—smiles. I hate it. The familiar way he treats me feels disingenuous. I'm a convenient pawn in whatever game he's playing.
I wish I could talk to her , my birth mother but the pain when I found the old picture of her still with me . I carry the picture everywhere with me
“Alpha Zane —” She starts, but he cuts her off.
“Please. I’m your father. That sounds so formal.” His smile widens, and his bright white incisors look uncomfortably sharp.
“You are not fit to be called my father after all you have done to me “
Bella's words rang out with a raw intensity, her voice trembling with a mixture of anger and pain as she confronted her father with the truth of his betrayal. The weight of his actions bore down upon her, the wounds he had inflicted upon her heart laid bare for all to see. In that moment, she realized that the man she had once revered as her father was nothing more than a stranger, his actions a stark betrayal of the love and loyalty she had once held dear.
With each word she spoke, Bella felt a surge of empowerment coursing through her veins, a newfound resolve to reclaim control over her own destiny. Though her heart ached with the realization that her father had failed her in the most fundamental of ways, she refused to let his actions define her worth or dictate her future. She stood tall in the face of his betrayal, her voice ringing out with a fierce defiance that echoed across the packlands.
Her father's words cut through the tense silence, a demand heavy with expectation and authority. "I expect you to behave and fulfill your duty by marrying them," he stated firmly, his tone brooking no argument. Despite the turmoil raging within her, Bella nodded in acquiescence, her expression a mask of compliance hiding the storm of emotions swirling beneath the surface. With a heavy heart, she resigned herself to her fate, knowing that she had little choice but to obey her father's wishes, no matter the cost to her own happiness.
Bella's father's words fell upon her like a heavy weight, his command a stark reminder of the power he still held over her life. Despite the anguish and betrayal she felt in her heart, she knew that defying him would only lead to further suffering. With a heavy sigh, Bella squared her shoulders and met her father's gaze with a steely resolve, her voice firm as she responded, "I will do as you command, Father. But know this: My compliance does not absolve you of your actions, nor does it erase the pain you've caused me. I will marry as you wish, but I will never forget the betrayal you've wrought upon me." With those words, Bella turned away, her heart heavy with resignation as she prepared to face the uncertain future that lay ahead.
Bella's heart raced with trepidation as she stood at the threshold of her wedding day, the weight of her impending union pressing down upon her like a suffocating blanket. With each passing moment, the walls of the grand hall seemed to close in around her, suffocating her hopes and dreams beneath their oppressive weight.
But as the time for her vows drew near, Bella's resolve hardened like steel. With a steely determination burning in her eyes, she made a split-second decision that would change the course of her destiny forever. Ignoring the protests of her attendants and the shocked gasps of the assembled guests, Bella turned on her heel and fled from the ornate chamber, her wedding gown billowing behind her like a ghostly specter.
With every heartbeat urging her forward, Bella dashed through the labyrinthine corridors of the grand estate, her breath coming in ragged gasps as she raced towards the freedom that beckoned on the horizon.
The weight of her decision bore down upon her like a crushing burden, but she refused to relent, driven by a fierce determination to break free from the chains of her predetermined fate.
As she burst through the heavy oak doors and into the cool night air, Bella felt a surge of exhilaration coursing through her veins.
With the moon as her only witness, she fled into the darkness, her footsteps echoing in the silence as she embraced the uncertainty of the unknown.
For in that moment, Bella knew that she had taken control of her own destiny, daring to defy the expectations that had bound her for far too long.
And though the road ahead would be fraught with danger and uncertainty, she faced it with a newfound sense of liberation and the promise of a future defined by her own choices.
