Chapter 4 They Were Caught on Camera

With his striking brows, prominent nose, thin lips, and well-defined jaw, the man before her embodied a rugged handsomeness.

Nora hadn't expected the escort Sophia had found for her to be so attractive!

Not even amidst the sea of male celebrities could one easily find someone more handsome.

With his good looks, he would be a sensation as a celebrity. Why on earth would he choose to be an escort?

Chip McKenzie had to admit the life of a male escort seemed more lucrative than that of a celebrity.

"Are you Room 808?" Nora gathered her composure and initiated the conversation proactively.

"Yes," he replied coolly as he took a seat across from her.

A latex mask obscured his face, and he'd deliberately altered his voice. Nora had no clue that the man before her was her own husband.

"How should I address you? Calling you Room 808 just feels odd," Nora inquired.

"Whatever you like. You can call me whatever you prefer," Isaac responded indifferently.

Nora figured he didn't want to reveal his real name. After all, in their line of work, everyone used stage names; no one would be naive enough to use their real name in the escort business.

After a brief pause, Nora said, "If you won't tell me, then from now on, I'll call you Steve."

Isaac tensed up at her words.

He lifted his eyes and gazed at her intently. "Why choose that name?"

"That's the name of my favorite man," Nora confessed candidly.

A mocking smile touched Isaac's eyes as he looked down.

Playing the part even in front of a stranger. Isaac thought to himself.

No wonder Grandpa was so easily deceived by her, blindly pushing him to marry her despite the irrefutable evidence of her betrayal.

"Fine by me, as long as you like it."

Nora let out a light laugh. "Then it's settled."

"As for our arrangement, like I mentioned before, we'll date for three months. You'll receive three million dollars for living expenses," she continued.

"During these three months, you need to move in with me. We'll live together like a couple, and you'll fulfill any request I make."

"Of course, my requests won't be unreasonable."

Isaac immediately refused without hesitation. "I have a day job; I can't be at your beck and call."

"Are you not a full-time escort? You actually have a day job?" Nora was visibly surprised.

Isaac raised an eyebrow. "Escorting is just part-time."

"Is it possible for you to quit your job? You can't possibly be making three million dollars in three months on the job, can you?" Nora challenged.

Isaac's eyebrow quirked meaningfully. He didn't need three months; in fact, he made more than three million dollars in just a day's work.

"I won't quit my job. I'll keep my day job, but I can stay with you in the evenings and devote my days off to you around the clock. If you can accept these terms, we can continue this discussion. If not, then I'm afraid this deal is off the table."

Inside, Nora was incredibly torn.

Three hundred million dollars aren't enough to truly claim ownership over a man. No matter how she thought about it, it felt like a loss.

Yet, for some reason, his demeanor and the way he made her feel were utterly enticing.

In him, she saw echoes of Isaac.

She realized she couldn't let go of Isaac.

Their paths had diverged; she and Isaac had parted ways.

With the loathing Isaac held for her and the gap between their social statuses, it was unlikely she'd ever see him again—unless he took the initiative.

But that was next to impossible.

How could Isaac, who despised her so much, ever want to meet her voluntarily?

Therefore, the escort before her—whose presence bore a resemblance to Isaac's—was the only solace she could find.

She couldn't afford to miss this chance.

Biting her lip with determination, Nora agreed, "Alright, let's do it your way!"

She pulled out a card from her purse and slid it across to him.

"Transferring three hundred million dollars is a hassle. Take the card; you can withdraw the funds at your leisure."

"The PIN is 950815."

Isaac narrowed his eyes.

The PIN was his birthday.

He lifted his gaze, his deep eyes attempting to pierce through her.

Nora, what are you playing at?

After betraying me, why do you keep on showing that you love me deeply?

No matter what you do, it cannot undo the damage you've caused!

Isaac took a deep breath, quelling the stir of emotion within him.

Nora pulled out a key from her bag and handed it to him. "This is my house key. I'll send you the address on WhatsApp. Go straight there after work."

"Do you want to move your stuff, or should I buy you some new personal items?"

"You can handle it using the money from this card. All expenses for these three months can be paid with it; after that, just give me whatever's left," Isaac replied.

He tossed the card back onto the table in front of Nora.

She was handing over three hundred million dollars to someone whose background she didn't fully know; wasn't she afraid they might just take the money and disappear?

Lucky for her, it was him; in anyone else's hands, she could have been sold without even realizing it.

"Sure." Nora didn't bat an eyelid as she pocketed the card.

She stood up, smiling. "Okay, I'll go shopping for you. See you tonight."

Just as she was about to turn and leave, Isaac reached out, grabbing her arm and pulling her back.

Caught by inertia, she stumbled into his embrace.

Before Nora could react, the man's cool lips were pressed to her cheek.

Startled, Nora's face drained of color as she quickly pushed him away.

"What are you doing?" she exclaimed.

Isaac's lips curved into a half-smile. "Didn't you say we're supposed to act like a normal couple for the next three months?"

"A goodbye kiss when parting is pretty standard for couples, right?"

Nora went silent.

"With all the money you've paid me, I naturally have to perform my boyfriend duties well, lest you accuse me of not taking my job seriously," Isaac teased.

Nora's face turned beet red. For once, she was at a loss for words.

"Fine, just give me a heads up before you kiss me next time!" she blurted out before turning on her heel and making a rapid retreat.

Once she was far enough away, Isaac left the scene.

Unbeknownst to them, a sneaky figure across the street had been lurking in the shadows, watching them closely, and had even captured the moment Isaac kissed Nora.
