Part Eight

At exactly five a.m., the elevator doors dinged open, and Dominic stepped inside. Ethan smirked as he looked at him, and Dominic knew that he hadn’t said a word yet. In the basement parking lot, they climbed into the SUV, and Cooper sped off through the quiet streets.

“Anything to report?” Dominic asked the four quiet men in the SUV with him.

Cooper grinned and shook his head. He was the nicest of the four, had the nicest manners, was courteous, and was respectful to others. He didn’t drink or smoke; he didn’t go to strip clubs; and he never helped himself to the hookers they had on payroll either.

Austin was less reserved. He knew what he wanted and took it when he wanted it. He liked women, and a lot of them. He drank on occasion, but usually only when they were at the house with no plans to leave. He was a reader and spent a lot of his time outdoors.

Ethan liked to be in the shadows. He never really left Dominic alone; he was always somewhere nearby, and it had proved valuable over the years. He could play the piano, was a great cook, and loved to sketch.

Hudson was the wild card, the one to lose his head and his personality over the smallest slight. His aura was dark and dangerous, and he liked that people feared him. He was a bit like Gage, without the innocent, pretty face. The scar across his eye made him all the more mysterious.

“I didn’t go to a strip club,” Hudson finally said, and everyone laughed.

“And Dominic didn’t go to the market square and eat a hot dog in the park,” Ethan said.

“Are you fucking insane?” Cooper asked.

“Nobody even looked at me.”

“You could’ve been shot or fucking taken! You know Rocco’s got a hard-on the size of a prize hog for you to just disappear quietly. The fucking Albanians have a boner for anyone named Vittori, and you go eat a fucking hot dog in the fucking park.”

Dominic looked at Hudson with amusement in his eyes. “Are you done venting?”

“Fuck, Dominic.”

Dominic turned towards Austin. “Didn’t you at least let him take his dick out?”

Hudson laughed loudly, but his eyes still spoke of violence. “I took my fucking dick out.”

Austin grinned and nodded his head. “He took his dick out enough times, especially when he asked me if he had a rash.”

“Fuck you, Austin. I don’t have a rash.”

“STD’s a real thing, you know,” Ethan said through his laughter.

“There is no rash!” Hudson shouted.

“Why were you even looking at his dick?” Dominic asked Austin.

“He was swinging that thing everywhere; it’s pretty hard not to look when he holds the fucking light over it and says, ‘See that right there, is that a fucking rash?’”

“My dick makes women pray,” Hudson said as Cooper laughed.

“That’s Gage,” Cooper said with a smirk.

“You’re probably still a virgin, so leave the dick talk to the grown-ups,” Hudson said. Cooper was the youngest of the team, at twenty-two.

“I took your sister’s virginity when I was fourteen,” Cooper said.

“My sister’s more of a man than you are,” Hudson retorted with a snort.

“Yeah, she told me how she fucked you in the ass with her clit.”

Dominic burst out laughing until he had tears in his eyes, and Hudson had no comeback. He sat there with his mouth open, and then he laughed the loudest. Dominic’s cheeks hurt, and he had to wipe the tears from his eyes.

“I’ll never get that image out of my head,” Ethan said with a laugh.

They were still chuckling when Ethan pulled the SUV into the garage, and Hudson waited for him near the door. Cooper regarded him carefully, and then Hudson smiled. “That was good, Cooper, fucking good.”

“Well, technically, the clit can be described as a miniature penis; it’s like a girl penis; it gets stiff like a dick and has a hood like a dick has a foreskin,” Cooper said as they all stopped walking and turned to look at him.

“Are you telling me when I go down on a woman, I’m sucking her little dick?” Hudson asked.

“By the looks of it, it’s not bothering you that much,” Ethan said as all eyes went straight to Hudson’s crotch.

“Fuck, Hudson, tuck that thing between your legs,” Austin said as Hudson adjusted himself.

Dominic shook his head and shuddered at the mental image Cooper had planted. “Can we stop talking about girly dicks and get some work done?”

Dominic was set to meet with the sons of the heads, like he did every two weeks. They paid their own dues to him since he was the firstborn son of the godfather. All the sons reported to him until it was time for him to take over, and they took over from their fathers.

It was tradition for the godfather to step down when his heir turned thirty, and Dominic’s role now was to build his own empire, earning clean money with legitimate businesses and asserting his rule over the men he would rule when he became godfather.

He listened to their problems, gave them solutions, and made sure they paid their dues to him. He was in charge of their territories and the business they conducted in those territories. He was also responsible for keeping the enemy at bay and making sure that alliance terms were met.

It was a prelude to what he’d do as godfather, and technically, it meant he was still in training. He met with Conrad once a month and paid over his own dues and those of his brothers since he was the eldest.

None of them lived with Conrad anymore, not since Dominic had turned twenty and bought the country estate. Conrad preferred it that way, which meant he could keep his mistress in his house on a permanent basis.

Hudson stuck his head into his study and waited until Dominic looked up. “The junior wannabes are here.” Dominic grinned at Hudson and nodded his head.
