Chapter Four:

When they were finished getting the toys they wanted we started making our way down the stairs. "Courtney, why don't you come with us." I said looking at her. "I would love to, I can help watch the kids." Courtney said. As we put the kids in their strollers and got all the bags gathered up we were finally ready. Pythia placed a hand on me and a hand on the stroller while I placed a hand on the stroller and one on Courtney. She raised her hand and touched Delilah and the bags and in the blink of an eye we were standing in front of the newly built school. When we walked in, the bubbly assistant that always greets me stood to her feet and smiled. "Welcome ladies! I'm so glad you are all here. Come with me and I'll take you to the class." She said walking forward. She hit a button on the side and both doors opened so that Delilah had enough room to get through without breaking them. As we walked through the hallway some of the kids stopped to gawk at the large black wolf that was trailing behind us while some of them took out their phones to either take a photo or take a video.

When we got to the room we walked to the front and started getting settled in when the bell rang. The kids were not bothered by the noise instead Courtney gathered them in the back and helped them unpack their toys. Delilah laid to the side by Pythia while I stepped to the back. "Ah miss Pythia, so nice to meet you, I'm Jonathan." He said, extending his hand out to her. She shook his hand and smiled as the classroom started to fill in with students. "Everyone get in your seats so we can begin." Jonathan said loudly. Pythia looked at me over her shoulder and I smiled gently at her. She took a deep breath as the last bell sounded off and the room became quiet. "Hello, I'm Pythia and I am the dark witch queen." Pythia said easily. A young girl raised her hand and Pythia nodded at her, "I heard you also decided peoples fate. Is that true?" She asked. Pythia smiled widely, "It is but we will get into that in a bit. I am here to explain who dark witches truly are and who we have become since we have made peace with the other races." Pythia replied easily.

I listened as she told her story of the dark witches from the very beginning to when they helped create vampires, I watched as their eyes shifted to me when she spoke of it and then back to her. She explained their true nature is to actually help where others can not tap into the dark magic that they can. "So you killed your own mom?" A boy asked. "I did. You see, my mother wanted all the power of white magic and dark witches can't touch it. If they do they will combust instantly and that was something I would never allow to happen so I did what I had to do to get us to where we are today." Pythia replied. "But you can use white magic?" A girl blurted out. "Yes, I am a mixed race. My mother was the dark witch queen while my father was a white witch giving me the chance to use it but as time went on I discovered that I am the great granddaughter of the night goddess and therefore I am the bringer of light and the bringer of dark. I hold the balance and decide if people deserve a second chance and where they shall spend their after life." Pythia replied.

She went on to explain why Delilah is not within her and all eyes fell on Delilah. "So she is one of the biggest wolves?" A girl asked. "Yes, she has powers of her own that she still shares with me, we know peoples true intentions and we can feel all of your emotions. When she fights she knows where you attack before you even do so. Delilah can you stand up please." Pythia said, looking at her. Delilah slowly stood to her feet and gasps erupted in the room. The moment she stood up the three kids ran straight to her running around under her feet. "So that is normal for your kids? She just lets them do whatever they want to?" A girl asked, making us both laugh. Pythia looked back at me and I stepped forward. "There are only two wolves that are out like this. The rest of them have hosts. Delilah loves the children and she is very protective of her family." I said easily. Delilah laid back down to show the classroom that she doesn't care if our little ones climb all over her. "So you have a wolf?" A boy asked. "I do, her sister actually." I replied. "Can we see?" A girl asked as her eyes widened. "Sage will you behave?" I asked quickly. "Yes, promise." Sage replied.

Pythia took a step back before I let Sage take control and shift us. We looked down at Delilah who growled at us, surprising the classroom. "They are fine, that is a way for them to communicate." Pythia said quickly. "Dark witches have helped wolves find their mates throughout the years until a wedge was forced between all the races, we were once who everyone turned to for literally anything. With us fighting the two battles we have, we have fought to the peace we so badly wanted to bring back." Pythia added. "We heard rumors of those fights but we didn't know what caused them." Jonathan said. I shifted back and smiled. "Well how we all came together the first time is an interesting story, none of us trusted each other and we made each other fight to see how worthy we all were for the first fight." I replied with a smile remembering how I made Alley and then fought a bunch of newborns. "What about the second one?" A girl asked. Pythia looked at me and smiled. "That is because I wanted to keep the peace and Ambrosia killed an elder." Pythia replied, making me laugh.

All eyes fell on me, "I did kill her and she deserved it after threatening our children. You see we found out that Pythia and I have a close connection because before we all broke off in to our own covens vampires were created to protect the dark witches from all threats, and the strongest vampire warrior was to protect the king or queen and that was a bond that could only be broken in death." I said. "So you are the strongest warrior?" Jonathan asked. "I am, and I am the queen of vampires. I will always protect my family from anything and everyone." I replied. "If you would like to pet Delilah you may do so, if you have more questions, please feel free to ask while you are up here." Pythia announced. all the kids practically ran out of their chairs and down to Delilah. "Artemis, Ari, Apollo please come over here." I called out. They all grunted but went back to Courtney who was sitting on the floor waiting for them. We watched as the kids piled around Delilah, amazed by her. "See, I told you it isn't that bad." I whispered. "It actually came a lot easier than I thought it would." Pythia replied.

I was always amazed by the humans, they were so fragile but they were intrigued by anything. I was expecting some of them to be fearful but they surprised me yet again for their thirst for knowledge. Maybe one day we could all teach the history of our races in a classroom such as this. I know I certainly wouldn't mind doing it if it meant we continued to make progress.
