♥CHAPTER 1♥
Good morning, readers! I want to apologize for the mistakes in the story. The problem is that I don't speak English. I'm from Brazil, and I'm trying to learn English, but it's challenging.
I am sorry for the inconvenience, but I hope you will give the story a chance.
Noah Miller.
Friday.
06:50 '' Miller house '' Noah's room '' New York '' USA.
'' Noah! Get your ass out of bed now!!! '' My mother shouted from outside my room. ''Don't make me hit you, kid, get up now!
'' I'm up, Mom! '' I said it a little too loudly for her to hear.
'' Then get ready soon!
I let out a sigh at that. It's always like this every morning; it makes me so tired.
I'm a skinny twenty-two-year-old boy. My parents are very different from me; they have very normal bodies, unlike me, who is skinny and a nerd to boot. I have two siblings: a sister called Carol, who is twenty''five," and a brother called Charles, who is twenty''six. '' I'm the youngest in the family, and I'm always left behind. My family is very busy with their jobs and barely has time for me.
I sighed again and got out of bed to go to the bathroom. I've been studying business for two years. Furthermore, I've thought about giving up because it's so hard, but I don't stop because I think about my future and because I want to get out of here. My parents are good, but whether I want to or not, I want to have my own place.
I went into the bathroom and walked over to the sink.
"I'm garbage." I sighed and picked up my toothbrush and toothpaste.
I put it on the toothbrush and began to brush my teeth calmly.
There's also another reason why I'm thinking of leaving college, which is that my classmates are really stupid; they always pick on me because I'm a nerdy, skinny kid. They don't even know I'm gay yet, but they keep calling me nerdy and gay because I hang out with my best friend, who is gay. '' We always ignore it because there's no point in trying to fight back, but it's something that really gets to me; even though I try to ignore it, it's really annoying.
What a good life I have.
I spat in the sink and washed my mouth and then my face. I took off my pajamas and hung them on the bathroom hanger. Furthermore, I only wore them to bed last night; they're not dirty, so I might as well wear them when I go to bed tonight. '' I got under the shower and turned it on. I sighed as I felt the cold water fall on my body.
I swear, when I have a job and earn money I'm going to move out of this house and get an electric shower. Likewise, I can't stand taking a shower all the time when it's freezing; it's too bad. Even on cold days, I have to bathe in cold water; that's the worst thing in the world. I want to be able to have my own things and live in peace.
My family doesn't have many conditions; my father works as a doorman in a building that I still don't know the name of; I've never even asked. My mother works in a snack bar with my sister; my mother appointed my sister to work on Saturdays and Sundays. My brother also works; he's the only one in the house who earns well because he works in a bank.
I'm the only one who doesn't work. I really wanted to work, but my family said not now. My mother said I should focus on my studies first, and then I should work. '' My house has three bedrooms; my brother sleeps with my sister; he said he wouldn't like to share a bed with me because I move around a lot.
Idiot.
I turned off the shower and grabbed the towel that was hanging on the other rack near the shower. I left the bathroom, dried myself, and walked to the closet.
'' What clothes should I wear today?
It's Friday, so I think I'll wear something simple; I'm not in the mood for anything fancy.
I chose black jeans, a blue dress shirt, white sneakers and black underwear.
I started to dress quietly and looked at the clock on the wall. Furthermore, I saw that it was quarter past seven, the first class at college starts at eight, and I still had time. The good thing is that my house is close to the college. '' As soon as I'd finished getting ready, I took the towel back to the bathroom, hung it up neatly and wide open so it could dry, left the bathroom and went to my backpack to check my things.
'' Books, pens, pencils, notebooks... Everything's fine. '' I closed the bag. '' Where's my cell phone?
I looked around my room and went to the pillow and lifted it up, picking it up and turning it on, seeing that there was a message from Dylan.
Message:
Dylan: Baby, we're going out tonight, can you? >07:00<
Go out, where? I'd really like to go out tonight, but knowing Dylan, it might be a good idea.
Me: "We'll talk more at college; I'm leaving now. >07:17<"
I put my cell phone back in my pants pocket and went over to the little table where there were combs and perfumes. I put perfume on my neck and a little on my shirt, put on my glasses, grabbed my backpack and left the room. Furthermore, I walked quietly down the corridor and down the stairs and saw my father kissing my mother.
'' I'm coming, darling. '' He smiled at her.
'' Take care, love. Did you get your lunch?" she asked, all worried.
'' Yes, you don't have to worry. '' He looked at me. ''You should have come down ten minutes ago, Noah.
I sighed at that.
'' Sorry, Dad. '' He rolled his eyes.
''Whatever.'' He looked at my mother and smiled. ''I'm going. I love you.
'' I love you too, darling.
He left the house, leaving us alone.
'' What are you doing standing there, Noah? Go get your sandwiches and get out of here, kid. I've got to go to work, too. '' She spoke thickly, not even sounding like the affectionate woman she was just now.
Yes, ma'am.
I walked into the kitchen and saw two sandwiches on the plate. I took them both and left the kitchen. Furthermore, I didn't find my mother in the living room, and I left the house, closing the door behind me and going down the steps to the front door.
I hope at least no one makes fun of me at college. I can't take it anymore.
