Chapter 003.

Akira's POV

As I stood in front of the company, I felt a familiar scent. I take a deep breath, the cold, gray walls of Wolfie Stark Enterprises loomed overhead of me as I made my way through the sleek lobby, my footsteps echoing in the empty hallway. I adjusted my bag on my shoulder, pulling my gown that was overly short.

Oh, Vida, you are naughty, while will you make me wear something like this? My nerves tingled with anticipation and a touch of apprehension. This was it, I let out a deep breath, the moment I had never prepared for, yet I am here, hoping I get the chance to apply for the coveted position of assistant to the notoriously cold CEO, Logan Wolfie. I wondered what kind of name is that. Wolfie, more like a wolf.

As I approached the reception desk, I couldn't help but feel a bit nervous and shiver of trepidation. The receptionist, a stern-faced woman in her early twenties, with sharp features and steely eyes, is beautiful but her gaze is cold.

"Appointment?" the receptionist asked, her voice as cold as ice.

I swallowed hard, if this lady sitting here, who is not even the boss, could act this way, how would the boss himself act? I shook my head, I could not develop fear right now, my fingers dug holes in my palms as I pressed them hard into them to control my fear. "No, I have no appointment...."

"Then what are you doing here?" her voice becomes colder.

"Sorry, the thing is, I saw the advertisement that Mr. Wolfie needs an assistant. My name is Akira Ross."

The receptionist didn't glance at me, she picks her phone and then placed a call to someone I didn't know, immediately she dropped the phone, she tapped something at her computer, her expression unreadable. I shut my eyes, and after a tense moment, she nodded curtly. "Mr. Logan will see you now. Take the elevator to the top floor and wait at the first..."

I didn't hear the rest of the words, I just gave her a nod of thanks, while I made my way to the elevator, my heart palpitations increased in my chest. As the doors slid shut behind me, I couldn't shake the feeling of the pending outcome. Logan Wolfie was infamous for his icy demeanor and uncompromising standards. the mere thought of having fired twenty-nine females in less than a month gave me goosebumps and it made me want to turn around and run off. Will I even get the job?

The elevator moved smoothly, carrying me to the upper section of the building. The doors opened with a soft ding, revealing a pristine corridor lined with sleek glass doors. I took a deep breath and stepped out, my footsteps echoing on the polished marble floor. I didn't even know which door to enter, but then I heard a sound, coming from one of the rooms.

"Logan, what the heck is wrong with you? We have important things to do and all you do is change assistance, is this part of me giving you six months, are you planning to have a reverse harem because I know you are sleeping with the women..."

"Come on Mother this is an office, stop bothering me..."

"I am not bothering you, you have something important to do, and you..."

"I said six months and I will do all your bidding, and I remembered that I told you, you shouldn't meddle in my business, it's less than a month, so don't tell me what to do, back off."

As I approached the door at the end of the hallway, the voices became clearer, it was a woman, he was arguing with, I wanted to retrieve my step but it was too late because a voice rang from the office.

"Who the fuck are you?"

My hand trembled slightly as I involuntarily reached for the handle. With a steadying breath, I pushed the door open and stepped inside. "I guess she is one of those numerous women, you are fuck..."

"Mother..." He called in frustration.

"Suit yourself..." She said pushing her way, she hit my shoulder. "You wouldn't last a week after he gets on your pants." I swallowed hard as the woman slammed the door.

"Don't you know how to talk?" His voice deep baritone voice came up, with his face still buried in his system.

My eyes fall on the man behind the table Logan Wolfie, a formidable figure in a perfectly tailored suit. I wasn't expecting him to be so young, I think he should be eighteen or nineteen and handsome too. I thought they said he was a beast, while then is he so handsome? His expression was unreadable as he regarded me with cool detachment.

I wanted to say something I patted my lips but his handsomeness drove me crazy, and suddenly he raised his head.

"Ms. Ross," he said, his voice as cold as ice. I shut my eyes immediately I saw the color of his eyes, they reminded me of something, not something, but that wolf of last night. "Have a seat."

He said, I swallowed hard, my mouth suddenly dry. I took a seat opposite him, my hands folded in my lap.

"I trust you're familiar with the responsibilities of the position?" Mr Wolfie asked, his gaze piercing. I nodded. "Use your lips."

"Yes, of course," I replied, my voice steady despite the butterflies in my stomach, what is wrong with me, I am here to look for a job, not to tell him to get into my pants. "I've read the job description thoroughly and I believe I have the skills and experience necessary to excel in the role." My words came in rolls.

His eyebrows arched, his expression inscrutable. "And what skills, tell me, do you possess that would make you suitable for such a demanding position and stay longer than the rest of the others."

I took a deep breath, he was not going to scare me, by finding out about the payment, I guess I would do anything to keep this. "I have a strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a proven track record of managing complex schedules and projects. I'm also highly adaptable and capable of thinking on my feet in high-pressure situations."

"Where was the last place you worked?"

"A bar..." I saw his jaw tighten, I guess he wanted to laugh at me but then he held it in. He lowers his gaze. "And how do you handle criticism and pressure?" he asked, his voice as cool as ever, but I am glad he didn't ask about the bar.

"I see them as opportunities for growth and improvement, remember, working in a bar, makes you meet different individuals, and drunkard are the words critics," I replied, my tone unwavering. "I thrive under pressure and I'm always open to constructive feedback."

He leaned back in his chair, and this time, his eyes reeked my body, under his watch, I felt my skin prickle. "Very well, Ms. Ross," he said finally. "I'll admit, you have an impressive resume. But tell me, why do you want to work for me?"

Do I know? I need money. I could even work for a beast because of money. I said inwardly. My gaze met his. "Because I thrive on challenges, and I believe working for someone as demanding and driven as you would push me to reach my full potential. I want to learn from the best, and I believe I have a lot to offer in return."

His lips quirked in a faint smile, almost imperceptible. "Ambitious," he mused. "I like that. Well, Ms. Ross, I'll give you this job as much as you certainly don't lack confidence."

I smiled inwardly. Who told him that I was not scared, I was dying inwardly. Could it be that I had impressed the infamously cold CEO?

"But," I frown as the word comes out of his lips, "I have high standards, Ms. Ross, If you want this job, you'll have to prove yourself. Stay away from my business and you are to do as you are told and lastly and above all, you should not develop feelings for me."

I squared my shoulders. "Mr. Wolfie, you have nothing to worry about, I am not going to fall in love with you," I said in disgust

He nodded, "Very well, Ms. Ross. Welcome to Wolfie Stark Enterprises. Consider this your trial period. Make no mistake because you will be shown the door in the next second."

I nodded, in excitement, I was about to push the door, to get out of his office when I came face to face with one of the men from the bar, his eyes were fixed on me, and his stare scared me, I shivered a bit.

"Meredith, stop that?"
