Chapter 5
Axel's POV
The next morning after I woke up I went downstairs and saw Jason eating some bacon for breakfast.
"Morning! I'm going to talk with my mate's parents. I think you should come with me too as we saw the two girls together."
"I'll definitely come with you. Don't want to miss the opportunity of meeting with her."
I still had some paperwork left, so I headed to my office to finish it quickly before leaving. An hour later we started the short drive to their house and 15 minutes later we arrived.
They had a beautiful house, which smelled of jasmine and orange. The smell of my mate. Damon and I sighed in content. Being near her made both of us happy.
Not wasting any more time I knocked on the door. A man opened the door and he must have been my mate's father. Not many things can surprise me, but what he said next caught me off guard.
"Hello, Alpha!"
"How do you know what we are?" - I asked cautiously.
"It's not important, we're not a threat to you and your pack. Our daughter and her best friend are the only ones who don't know about your kind."
I was speechless. I wasn't expecting this. He invited us in and we followed, not wanting to be rude. I looked around searching for my mate, but couldn't see her anywhere.
"So, what brings you here?"
"Mr. Silverstone, we…" - but I couldn't finish my sentence, because my mate was coming down the stairs. When she saw us I could tell from her expression that she was extremely pissed off.
"You! What the hell are you doing here? Are you stalking us? Were you the one who put me out in the woods in the middle of the night?" - she yelled as she marched down the stairs.
"What is going on dear? Do you know them?" - asked her mom who joined us the moment she heard the yelling.
"Yes, mom, I do. These are the creepy stalkers I told you about yesterday."
"Crazy stalkers? What are you talking about?" - asked Jason.
"Yes, crazy stalkers. You two were staring at us yesterday like creeps." - she yelled again.
I could see that her parents didn't know what to do. Nobody expected this outburst and now things would be more complicated. How will I tell her the truth seeing her reaction today?
"Calm down sweety. Let's sit down in the living room and talk about this calmly."
"No, I will not be calm, they need to go right now." - she continued yelling.
"Young lady, go upstairs immediately. How can you behave like this? This is not the way I raised you." - her mother raised her voice.
"But I…" - she couldn't finish the sentence, because of the look her mother gave her. She huffed, glared at us, turned around and went upstairs.
"Well…this is not how I imagined the meeting with my mate." - I whispered to Jason.
"I know man, but this was hilarious. You have a stubborn mate. She is so short, but she can whoop your butt anytime with her sharp tongue." - he said while laughing.
"Hahaha, very funny. Can't wait for your mate's reaction when she sees you."
"I'm sorry about Jasmine. She had a rough night."
"It doesn't matter. I have more pressing matters to talk about with you."
"She's your mate, isn't she?" - asked her dad.
"Yes, but how do you know this?"
"We can't tell you yet. We made a promise to keep everything a secret until the time is right."
As we were leaving, a car stopped outside and a guy and Jason's mate stepped outside. I could feel Jason's anger, until Jasmine's mother explained that he's her son and Jason has nothing to worry about. When she stepped inside all hell broke loose again.
"You! What the hell are you doing here? Are you stalking us? Were you the one who put Jas out in the woods in the middle of the night?" - she yelled as she stepped inside. However, this time the words were directed towards Jason, as he was closer to the front door.
"No, no we…"
"Just shut up and get the hell out of here. Mr. S. arrest them for stalking." - she yelled the same way my mate did not too long ago.
"Calm down Rory. Let's talk about this calmly."
"No, I will not calm down Mrs. S.." - it was like hearing my sisters. Saying the exact same things. I shuddered.
"That's enough. First Jasmine and now you. Yelling the exact same things. I'm fed up. These young men came here to greet us as we just moved to town. And what do they get? To adult women throwing a tantrum like three year olds." - she was yelling too.
She just huffed and headed upstairs the same way my mate did.
After we left we were both deep in thoughts thinking about the mess we made yesterday by staring at the girls like idiots. Jason had something else to do, so I was the only one heading inside the pack house. My mom immediately asked what happened and how the first meeting was.
"Uhm…well…it wasn't ideal. Both Jason and I got yelled at by them and we couldn't even defend ourselves as we didn't get the chance to." - I was so embarrassed, I couldn't look my mom in the eye.
"I'm speechless, son. You're an Alpha, Jason is your Beta, and yet you couldn't get the chance to speak up in front of your mates?" - she asked while laughing and wiping her tears. "I have to tell this to your father. He will love it."
As I ascended the stairs music was blasting through the whole upper level. This time the twins decided on Faded, by Alan Walker. I didn't bother telling them to turn the volume down, so I just continued my way towards my room. It wasn't even noon yet, but I was totally exhausted.
At lunch mom told the twins about Jasmine and what happened between us today. Needless to say, it wasn't a good idea. There's no chance that they'll listen to me in the future. They will rather threaten me with this information to give them anything they want.
After lunch Damon was restless, so we went on a long run. What surprised me is that he didn't yell at me for what happened with Jasmine. When we came back from the run I racked my brain to think of what to do to make Jasmine trust us.
1:make sure that she calms down and stops yelling every time she sees us
2: tell her the truth about us
3: make sure she doesn't run for the hills
4: make sure she falls in love with us
5: move in together
6: she being Luna
7: finish the mating process
8: have kids
9: grow old together and play with our great-grandchildren
It took me a while to realize that after the third step my mind, metaphorically speaking, leaped off a huge cliff without thinking of the consequences. How can I think about our great-grandchildren when I couldn't even utter a single word in front of her when we met twice. The first time she ran away. The second time she yelled and then ran away.
I decided that tomorrow I'd try talking to her and explain everything that happened in town.
