Chapter 2 Well Done, My Little Genius

Six years later, at Saint Church.

Jessica, who took Sophia's place and gave up her opportunity to study abroad, transformed from a penniless commoner to the CEO fiancée of the Johnson Group with the support of the Hastings family.

Today was her engagement banquet with Victor!

Jessica stood elegantly on the stage in a white evening gown, and in front of her stood a man oozing with elegance!

The tailored suit accentuated his slim and perfect figure. His perfect and handsome face was very appealing under the lights, and his inherent regal aura was oppressive to everyone.

Jessica's charming and delicate face broke into a radiant smile. This was the man she admired. Today, she would finally become engaged to him.

Even though she knew Victor only wanted an unmarried fiancée to please his elders, Jessica was still overjoyed. With great pride, she said, "Welcome, everyone. Today is the engagement ceremony between Victor and me. I hope everyone..."

"Mummy!"

Before Jessica could finish speaking, a chubby child rushed up to the stage and hugged her leg tightly.

In the crowded hall, everyone looked at the child running towards the stage with confusion.

Jessica was stunned by this scene and hurriedly said, "Little one, you've mistaken me for someone else."

"Mummy, I'm your beloved Liam. How can you abandon me and daddy for this man you're marrying?" The child, who appeared to be around four or five years old, was very cute. Tears filled his eyes as he looked up.

The child's words instantly shocked all the guests present!

"Jessica has a son?"

"Why haven't we heard about this before?"

"Mr. Hastings is going to raise someone else's child? Oh my God, this is so surprising!"

The guests in the audience were in an uproar.

Victor, who had no intention of attending the engagement banquet in the first place, furrowed his brows slightly. His cold gaze fell on Jessica!

This sharp stare frightened Jessica, and she hastily pushed the child away from her leg. "You're talking nonsense. I don't know you. Whose child is this?"

"I never thought my mummy would be this kind of person, abandoning her own son for money." The child pointed at Victor, who exuded an air of nobility, and cried out, "This wild man is old and ugly compared to my daddy. Mummy, please don't marry him. Isn't our family happy living in the countryside, taking care of the fields?"

The onlookers looked at Jessica with strange expressions.

Jessica angrily called the security guard. "Stop talking nonsense. I don't know you. Security, take this bad child away!"

"Mummy doesn't want me anymore. I don't want to live." The child cried desperately.

Everyone was shocked by Jessica's actions!

They never expected that Jessica could be so malicious, forsaking her husband and son for a wealthy marriage!

Seeing the little child crying with red eyes was heart-wrenching.

Not only did Jessica not console him, but she also directly pushed him away. How could she do this?

The guests had different expressions on their faces, while Victor, who was as towering and majestic as an emperor, had a cold gaze.

Jessica hurriedly explained, "Victor, listen to me, I really don't know that child..."

"Replace her," Victor said in a cold voice, instructing his assistant standing behind him without showing any mercy!

All he wanted was an unmarried fiancée. It didn't matter who this person was.

There was a gasp from the audience.

Everyone's gaze was focused on Jessica. Jessica being publicly called off the engagement was big news!

Jessica was completely panicked and grabbed Victor's sleeve in desperation. He stopped his long legs and turned around. His cold gaze frightened Jessica, and she quickly let go of his hand. With tears flowing, she watched Victor throw the coat she had touched into the trash bin and walk away!

Angry, Jessica walked back to the reception desk. The troublemaking child had already climbed up from the ground, tears still streaming down his face. However, if she looked closely, she would see mischief in the child's eyes!

In her burning anger, Jessica swung her hand towards the child's face, but before she could make contact, her wrist was grabbed by someone.

A clear laughter rang out. "My sister, long time no see!"

That voice...

Jessica was completely shaken, disbelief filling her eyes!

"How could you be here?"

"How could I not come to my sister's engagement ceremony?" Sophia's bright red lips smiled, her confident smile stunningly beautiful.

Jessica couldn't hide her anger and said sternly, "Have you forgotten what Mom told you years ago? What right do you have to appear at my engagement ceremony? Are you trying to get back at me?"

"Yes, my sister, are you satisfied?" Sophia smiled brightly. Her exquisite and beautiful face attracted many people's attention.

Jessica despised Sophia's smile. There were still many guests outside who hadn't left, and she was now the noble fiancée of the Johnson Group. publicly rebuking Sophia would damage her reputation!

Jessica hastily pulled Sophia towards a secluded place and warned her in a low voice, "I give you three days to leave Woerek, otherwise, you will regret it!"

Afraid of being seen by others, Jessica hurriedly left, it seemed she was going to chase after Victor.

The church was in chaos. Guests were leaving one after another, and a small figure ran through the crowd and approached Sophia.

"Mama, was my acting good? Praise me." The child raised his innocent face, smiling mischievously.

Sophia was captivated by this cute smile and kissed Liam Johnson fiercely. "Well done. My little genius. Let's go, I'll reward you with a drink."

She took Liam and left the church.

Six years ago, she had been sold to a bar by Taylor, but she managed to escape shortly after and hide for a few months. She ended up fleeing to a distant city just to barely survive.

Later, she became pregnant.

She was carrying that man's child.

Sophia had wanted to abort the child at the time, but the doctor advised against it because the baby was too far along. She had no choice but to give birth to the child.

Looking at the adorable little boy in front of her, Sophia felt grateful that she hadn't made that decision back then. Otherwise, she wouldn't have this lovely little treasure.

In the dessert shop, Liam sat on a tall stool, swinging his short legs and holding his drink. He naively asked, "Mommy, is my dad really in Woerek?"

"Should be here." Sophia's purpose in coming back this time was to find out who that man was back then.

"Great, I can meet my daddy. What does he look like? I am such a handsome man, so logically my daddy shouldn't be ugly. What should I say when I see my daddy...?" Liam happily sucked on his straw, his round face filled with a sweet smile.

After finishing their meal, Sophia took Liam to Ertors Hotel to find out who stayed in room 797 five years ago. The front desk staff's face slightly changed after checking, but shook their head and said, "No records."

"It shouldn't be like this, your hotel doesn't have any records?" Sophia asked in surprise.

The staff member shook their head. "I'm sorry, miss, I couldn't find anything. Is there anything else I can assist you with?"

"Well... help me book a room then." Sophia was somewhat disappointed and took the room key before taking Liam upstairs.

As soon as Sophia left, the staff member quickly made a phone call. "That woman has shown up!"
