Chapter 4 The Old Man Who Can’t Have a Son

For six years, Zach had been waiting for Sophia to come back. He wanted to tell her that he was now rich. However, Sophia should have a son now.

"It's impossible. Sophia is not that kind of person." Zach didn't believe it. Endless flames burned in his eyes. "You're lying to me!"

Jessica sneered in her heart and sarcastically said, "Sophia is exactly that kind of person. You just didn't know. I advised her not to become a mistress for money, but she didn't listen. Now she regrets it and came to ruin my engagement party. I have already captured the bastard she gave birth to and can hand him over to you anytime."

Jessica was worried about how to deal with Liam.

Zach's father was particularly powerful. Three generations of his ancestors were businessmen, and they were afraid of being hated for their wealth, so they had Zach hide his family background and pretend to be poor.

Zach had waited for his beloved for six years, only to receive the news that she had already given birth to a child...

Zach would definitely kill Liam in a fit of anger.

Even if the Hastings family discovered this in the future, it had nothing to do with Jessica!

As planned, Jessica was about to hand Liam over, but she saw black smoke coming from the second floor. She hurriedly asked, "What's happening upstairs?"

The butler, Tom Hill, rushed downstairs. "Ms. Johnson, the warehouse is on fire."

"What!" Jessica's face changed drastically, and she quickly ran upstairs. Thick smoke billowed from the direction of the warehouse. It had already caught fire, and the flames were rapidly spreading from the outside of the door.

Liam was still locked inside!

If Liam was burned to death, Victor would definitely kill her!

"Put out the fire, quickly!"

The household servants rushed to find fire extinguishers and rushed towards the warehouse. Chaos ensued!

After they finally extinguished the fire in the warehouse, they discovered that there was no one inside, only a window with screws undone.

"Where is the child?" Jessica angrily asked.

Just then, someone stumbled and ran up, shouting in fear, "Ms. Johnson!"

"What happened again?" Jessica turned around angrily.

The gatekeeper pointed towards the backyard. "Your expensive car that you bought last month was smashed!"

Not only that, all the cars parked in the backyard were also smashed. Jessica checked the surveillance footage and her face turned pale with anger.

In the footage, Liam climbed out of the window and then went to the garden, knocking each of her cars with bricks. Finally, he happily clapped his hands and crawled out through the door crack!

He was extremely arrogant!

Jessica couldn't stand it anymore and personally went to look for Liam after sending Zach away.

This was a wealthy neighborhood, with large properties but few people, and the security was particularly strict. Liam couldn't have gone far.

Liam, this little troublemaker set fire to the warehouses and smashed her cars. She was determined to break his legs when she caught him!

Jessica, filled with murderous intent, mobilized all the family's guards and maids, and even called the security team from the community to conduct a comprehensive search for Liam's whereabouts.

Liam, who had escaped from Johnson Villa, hid in a small flower bed, watching the patrol cars coming and going outside. He dared to come out only after everyone had left. He ran fast and didn't notice the car behind him until it was too late and he was sent flying!

The car came to a sudden stop.

"What's going on?" A stern woman's voice came from the car.

The driver's expression darkened, and he hurriedly pulled up the handbrake, his voice trembling. "I'm sorry, Mrs. Hastings. I hit someone. I'll go down and check right away."

After speaking, the driver quickly got out of the car and saw a child lying on the ground, clutching his hand. Liam had a pained expression. The driver quickly crouched down. "Kid, where are you injured?"

"Could you be a little more careful when driving? I almost got killed by you," Liam sat on the ground, his eyes red.

The driver felt extremely guilty and turned to see Carolyn, who had already gotten out of the car. He said, "Mrs. Hastings, this child is injured. Can I help him get into the car first and then take you to Johnson Villa?"

"This child is injured, so we won't go to Johnson Villa. We won't allow Jessica to come to the Hastings Villa again!" Carolyn's gaze fell on Liam's face, and she was surprised to find that the child in front of her looked somewhat like Victor when he was young!

Carolyn thought she was hallucinating and asked, "Little boy, why are you alone here? Where is your father?"

Liam covered his arms, and seeing a patrol car coming from not far away, worried that it was Jessica's people, he tearfully said, "Pretty grandma, I'm in so much pain."

Carolyn quickly picked him up and passed by the patrol team that was passing by.

In the hospital, Carolyn looked at the child on the hospital bed with a strange expression. She felt more and more that this child resembled Victor!

After the doctor left, Carolyn couldn't help but ask, "Little boy, where do you live? Do you remember your parents' phone number?"

Thinking of Sophia being kidnapped by the bad guys, Liam shook his head and said, tears streaming down his face, "I don't remember mommy's phone number."

"What about your dad?" Carolyn asked.

Liam wiped his tears and cried, "My dad died a long, long time ago. He died a particularly tragic death, with his body burned to ashes. It was just me and mommy left..."

"Ouch, little baby, don't cry," Carolyn said, feeling inexplicably sad when she saw Liam crying, gently enveloping the little Liam in her arms.

Liam wiped away his tears and said sadly and aggrieved, "Although my mommy is on a business trip and can't come back, I have no one to take care of me, but please don't worry, I won't make you compensate for it. You can leave, I can take care of myself."

Carolyn felt very fond of Liam and also learned about his tragic background. Furthermore, her driver had injured him, so there was no way she could leave him behind.

Therefore, she spoke up, "If you don't mind, you can stay at my house for a few days until your mommy comes back, and then I'll send you back, how about that?" Carolyn asked.

Liam was delighted. "Really?"

Carolyn grew to like Liam more and more, thinking he was even cuter than Victor was when he was young. Being very fond of children, she immediately brought Liam back home.

"Mrs. Hastings, Mr. Hastings is back," the butler Sam Evans ran over to remind her shortly after she arrived home. Busy making Liam happy, Carolyn's face showed displeasure. "He engaged with a woman of ill repute just to appease me, and he has the audacity to come back!"

Sam wiped off his cold sweat. "That's because Mrs. Hastings, you rushed him too much!"

"He's almost thirty years old and can't even have a son, he's useless! Let him go!" Carolyn's voice was stern. Turning around and seeing Liam looking at her in astonishment, Carolyn quickly smiled and gently said, "Liam, don't be afraid, I'm not scolding you."

Liam swallowed his saliva and thought in fear, 'Can men in this family also become pregnant?'

How terrifying!

Seeing that the little boy was frightened, Carolyn bent down and carried him upstairs, not forgetting to instruct Sam before leaving. "Tell Victor that if he doesn't get married and have children, he shouldn't even think about setting foot in this house again!"
