Chapter 3
But I was completely taken aback by his actions towards me. As his words echoed in my ears, an indescribable sensation washed over me. I was frozen in disbelief, unable to move a muscle.
The moment was surreal, and I couldn't comprehend what he had just done. We locked eyes for what felt like an eternity before I finally looked away, unable to bear the intensity of the connection.
Little did he know, I had spent years preparing for this day, waiting for the opportunity to seek revenge for my parents' untimely demise. It was ironic to think that while he had waited decades to find his mate, I had been biding my time, fueled by a burning desire for justice.
I refused to be swayed by his sweet words, determined to uncover the true nature of the demon that stood before me. With no words exchanged, I impulsively kissed him, hoping to taste the darkness that lurked within him. I wanted to see if he would deceive me with his charm if his anger could match mine.
But as our lips met, he gently pushed me away, leaving me bewildered.
"Why did you push me, Alpha?" I questioned, my voice laced with curiosity.
His confusion mirrored my own as he replied, "Why did you kiss me?"
I couldn't help but smirk, a seductive tone creeping into my voice.
"Is this what you wanted all along?" I taunted him.
His serious expression betrayed his thoughts as he asked, "Do you really think that's all I'm after, Amelia?"
His words hit me like a punch to the gut, leaving me speechless. The conflicting emotions swirling inside me were overwhelming.
"How could you reject me and then expect a kiss?" he asked me.
I took a deep breath, trying to compose myself. It was clear that I had let my emotions get the best of me, and I needed to apologize for my outburst. I mustered up the courage to speak, my voice trembling slightly.
"I'm sorry," I managed to say, my voice barely above a whisper.
Without waiting for a response, I turned and hurried away, seeking solace in the sanctuary of my own space.
As I closed the door behind me, a wave of confusion washed over me. My heart was heavy with a mix of anger, hurt, and a strange longing. I knew I couldn't let myself be swayed by his charm, no matter how tempting it may be. Instead, I needed to devise a plan to turn the tables and regain control.
A mischievous smile played on my lips as an idea formed in my mind. If he wanted to play games, then I would play along. I would use my own allure to captivate him, making him crave me in ways he never thought possible. And once I had him under my spell, I would have the upper hand, ready to exact my revenge.
With conviction, I exclaimed, "No matter what else you may do, in my eyes, you are nothing but a demon!"
Collecting myself, I swiftly left my room and ventured into the corridor. As I made my way, I caught sight of him conversing with another man in the quarters area. Our eyes met, and he immediately approached me.
"Amelia," he uttered.
His voice was chilling, yet it had a peculiar effect on my soul. Nevertheless, I had to resist this foolish sentiment.
"I apologize for what transpired, Alpha," I sincerely said.
"It's alright. I'm just a little perplexed," he replied.
"Well, let's put it behind us. Would you mind taking me for a walk?" I asked, flashing him a warm smile.
"Sure," he smiled at me.
The wolves would always greet us with their watchful eyes whenever we crossed paths. I couldn't help but smile back at them, and at that moment, I could see the pure joy reflected in his eyes.
"Did you know that one of the most unforgettable moments in my life was when you embarrassed me on my own birthday?" he chuckled, his smile infectious.
"But even then, I can't bring myself to be angry with you. You are so very gorgeous" he spoke with a seriousness that touched my heart.
His words engulfed me, for no matter how I looked at him, I couldn't find a trace of wickedness in this man. I tried to return his smile, and he mirrored it back at me.
We explored every corner of the castle and I encountered other wolves. Their smiles were warm as they watched us pass by. They bowed in a show of respect, and then a striking woman approached us, her gaze sweeping over me from head to toe.
I couldn't quite decipher her intentions. Her smile was friendly as she drew closer, sniffing the surrounding air. It made me uneasy, but I kept my composure, trying to mask my discomfort. Her demeanor was serious, which made me a bit nervous, and I was taken aback by her actions.
She grasped my arms firmly, locking eyes with me in a stern manner. I was rooted to the spot, unable to move as she scrutinized me. After a moment, she let go and smiled, her gaze lingering on me.
"A mere omega," she remarked, turning to Alpha with a questioning look.
"Why have you chosen her as your mate, Alpha?" she asked.
I furrowed my brow, puzzled by her words.
"Yes Elissa, she's an Omega. Norman discovered her in the forest. But I don't care about that," Alpha Damien interjected.
"Whether I'm an Omega or not is none of your concern," I retorted firmly.
"Fair enough. But why did you reject Alpha Damien?" she inquired, her tone challenging.
"How could you dare to do that?" she asked firmly.
Alpha Damien stood up for me with his powerful words, warning Elissa of potential banishment from the pack if she didn't show me respect.
"Would you like to be cast out of the pack immediately?" he questioned.
"I apologize, Alpha. I was only worried about you," Elissa replied.
"I don't need your worry," he responded coldly.
"No one will dare to harm or disrespect her," he assured.
Despite his evident kindness, I still harbored doubts about him. I needed to find a way to uncover the darkness he was concealing.
As we made our way back to my room, I took a bold step and ran my fingers over his chest, enticing him to desire me and be consumed by greed.
"Thank you for standing up for me. Take me now, Alpha. Do whatever you desire with my body. I want to bring you joy and help you forget everything else," I whispered with a smile.
Our eyes locked, and my heart raced as I caught a whiff of his breath. It wasn't the first time I would kiss him, but it was the first time I noticed the intoxicating scent of his breath.
