Chapter 8 Special Occupations

Megan never thought delivering dinner would lead to her witnessing the last thing she wanted to see.

"Damn you, Brooklyn! How dare you seduce my Sebastian while I'm not around? You're gonna regret this!"

Megan tossed the dinner she brought straight into the trash. She didn't dare to enter the room and interrupt whatever Sebastian was up to.

When the bed finally stopped shaking, Brooklyn lay on it, panting heavily. The afterglow of her climax left her cheeks flushed, and her sweat-soaked hair clung to her forehead, giving her a unique allure.

"It's been a while since I felt this good. Not bad, I'm quite satisfied."

Brooklyn gave Sebastian a playful slap on the butt before strutting naked into the bathroom.

Sebastian watched Brooklyn's enticing figure, his brows furrowing slightly. He felt like she was treating him like some kind of gigolo.

As Sebastian was about to get up from the bed, he felt a sharp pain, not from his stomach this time, but from his waist.

"Damn, is her sex drive that strong"

Sebastian rubbed his waist, a wry smile crossing his face. It had been a long time since he'd had sex.

Despite the rumors about his close relationship with Megan, they rarely even held hands, let alone kissed or had sex.

Sebastian had no interest in any woman other than Brooklyn.

The private hospital room had its own bathroom, complete with a bathtub. Brooklyn filled the tub with water and sank into it, the warm water spreading over her skin, bringing a soothing sensation.

"Damn you, Sebastian. I hope you get into a car accident, choke on your food!" With her lust dissipated, Brooklyn regained her senses and began cursing Sebastian.

"You were just saying how great it was in bed. Now you're done with me and tossing me aside like trash?" Sebastian appeared at the bathroom door, naked, leaning against the doorframe as he looked at Brooklyn.

Brooklyn turned her head and glared at him coldly. After quickly cleaning herself up, she wrapped a towel around her and stepped out of the bathroom.

She frowned deeply at the sight of her clothes, torn to shreds on the floor.

If she walked out wearing just a towel, there would definitely be a lot of rumors circulating around the hospital the next day. She didn't want anyone to know that she was Sebastian's wife.

Brooklyn glanced at Sebastian's clothes on the floor, then at the bathroom where Sebastian was still washing up.

She quickly picked up his clothes and put them on.

Sebastian's clothes were a bit big on her, but her tall frame made it work. She used some of the torn fabric to tie up the loose parts. Once dressed, she checked herself in the mirror and found the look surprisingly stylish.

His clothes had a faint scent of tequila, a smell that had appeared in Brooklyn's dreams many times.

The sound of running water stopped, and Sebastian emerged from the bathroom, towel-drying his hair.

He was momentarily stunned to see Brooklyn in his clothes. "Why are you wearing my clothes?"

Brooklyn turned and glared at him. "My clothes are in pieces. Do you want me to walk out naked? I don't mind, but I'm sure the world would love to hear that Mr. Kingsley's wife is a lunatic."

Sebastian's brows furrowed, and he waved his hand impatiently. "Wear them if you want. I'll call someone to bring me a new outfit."

Brooklyn nodded, gathered the shredded clothes, and walked out, leaving the door wide open.

Sebastian's eye twitched. That damn woman didn't even close the door! And he was still naked!

However, Brooklyn's prank didn't bother Sebastian much. No one was outside his door anyway, and closing it wouldn't take long.

She left the hospital and returned to her rented apartment. She hadn't stayed in their marital home, opting instead for a single apartment. On her way home, she ran into her neighbors, a middle-aged couple with a child. Their life seemed happy enough, though the man was always drunk and needed his wife's help to get home.

"Good evening, Dr. Mitchell." The neighbor's wife greeted Brooklyn.

Brooklyn frowned slightly at the sight of the drunken man. "Your husband doesn't look well. I suggest he gets checked at the hospital. Frequent drinking can seriously damage his liver."

The man, still somewhat lucid, shook his head with a bitter smile. "I can't go to the hospital yet. I need to close this deal first!"

"Then at least try to exercise more when you can."

Brooklyn shook her head. She'd heard too many similar excuses, all drinking out of necessity.

As Brooklyn entered her apartment, she suddenly remembered something. With Sebastian's status, he didn't need to drink to close deals. No one would force him to drink if he didn't want to. So why did he drink so much that he ended up with a bleeding stomach?

Brooklyn finally realized something was off.
