Chapter 2

JOHN’S POV

I stared at my wrist watch for the umpteenth time and each passing seconds caused my face to scrunch up into a frown. I hated been kept waiting, especially by people who needed my help.

I stood up from my chair and walked to the glass wall that showed me the magnificent view of the city. Everywhere was bubbling with activity, life and excitement only to those who could see it. I wasn't one of them.

I was a ruthless business man that only cared for the rising figures in my company. Every minute of my time had been calculated to having million rolling into my bank account.

So whoever made me waste an hour waiting for a contract when I could be using that to make some cool cash was going to be very sorry!

The door to the conference room was pushed open, I glanced slightly at it and a man walked in. He looked like he had run all the way to the conference room. His hair was disheveled and his clothes stuck to him because of how sweaty he was. He was the man I had been waiting for. The Secretary of Limestone Mine Inc.

“ Mr. Callahan, i–”

“ Save it. Tear up the contract and get about of my company.”

The man stared at the me with wide eyes and gulped his saliva “ Mr. Call–”

“ I hate repeating myself twice. I suggest you get your silly irresponsible self out of my company.” I glared at the man from over my shoulder.

“ Mr. Callahan, please if you would just let me explain.” The man pleaded, his voice breaking.

“ The boss doesn't want to hear your explanation. I suggest you leave.” My bodyguard pulled open the door gesturing to him to leave.

“ Please, Mr. Callahan, don't break the deal. I'll lose my job.” The man cried out.

“ Then it's good if you do. Companies need to be wary of people like you. People that don't understand how the word works. I'm sure a permanent vacation from your job will teach you a few things about life.” I said and with that, the man got dragged away by the guard.

I waited a few more minutes before heading to the next meeting I had for the day.

When my bodyguard appeared by my side, I told him to prepare a large bouquet of roses for my current girlfriend of the month, apologizing that I was going to be late for our date.

By the time, I’d finished everything I would be doing for the day, I went straight to the hotel that I was going to meet Calista.

“ You're late.” She narrowed her eyes at me.

“ I sent roses.” I shrugged.

“ It doesn't matter, John. Why are you always so busy with work? Can't you take a break?” Calista played with the petals from one rose flower that I was sure she had taken out of the bouquet.

“ You forget that this work of mine is what gives you everything you need. The extravagant shopping, the cruise trips, the luxury hotels and body treatment. If I don't work I can't provide any of those things for you.” Not that I cared if I did or not.

Calista sighed, ” I hate that our relationship is only for a month.”

It was the rule I’d given her, we’d play around for a month and then I move on to the next person.

“ I don't do feelings, you know that.”

She nodded.

“ Come on, if you're done eating, let's get down to business.” I stood up and walked away not even checking if she was following him. I was that arrogant, but she would gladly overlook my flaws so long the money was coming in.

That's the law of life. I could buy everything and anything I wanted, so long I have the money

When we got into the room, I went to the shower straight, like I always did.

I refused to let Calista and I share the same bathroom so she uses the other one in the room.

When I walked out of the bathroom, she’d discarded her robe, no time for seduction or fore play or flirting. She was a one-month stand and nothing else. I don't even kiss her.

Firstly, I took her from behind, I’ve always loved the view of a woman from behind, and then when it was time to go missionary style that's where it became a problem.

“ What happened?” Calista asked innocently as she watched me struggle to pull away from her.

What the hell?!

“I can't move. Wh-what the hell is going on?” I scowled as I tried multiple times but it's like every time I tried to, whatever was holding me to her tightened it's leash.

Realization dawned on me that I was the only one panicking, slowly I looked at Calista and growled “ What did you do?”

“ Nothing.” She replied quickly, too quickly.

“ I am not in the mood for jokes, Casita!”

“ It's Calista, you fucking jerk! We've been together for a month, will it kill you to remember my name?” She glared at me.

“ I buy your pussy not your name. I'm only interested in what you have between your legs. So you either tell me what you did or you face the consequences.” This fucking bitch!

“ This is your punishment. For thinking you can use me and just dump me. I used a friction glue to to stick us together like two peas in a pod. Interesting, isn't it?” She smirked.

“How do I get it off?” I asked.

“ You can't! At least not without an anti-glue which I fortunately brought along with me but to do that, you have to promise to actually date me and then marry me.”

I stared at her for a while before I bursted out laughing, like belly laughing. Some whores can be so stupid.

“ What's so funny?”

“Nothing, just how dumb you are. Do you really think you can blackmail me into dating and marrying you?” I grinned “ You're just a hole that anyone can put their stick in for the right amount. I don't need a prostitute for a wife.”

Calista's eyes burned with tears.

“ I’m not a slut, I’ve only had one boyfriend and you’re the second man that I've ever slept with.”

“ Like I care! You're delusional if you think I'd marry you.”

“Its either that or the press catches us in this compromising position.”

“ Then I'm going to have to force it out of you.”

Calista stared at me confusedly and her eyes widened at what I was going to do.

My hand slowly wrapped around her neck and slowly tightened as I asked “ Where. Is. The. Damn. Anti-glue?”
