FRAMED!
Chapter 5
Kaya’s point of view.
“About the house,” Luna Freya said, her voice filled with anger and resentment.
“I heard you pleaded with the alpha to allow you keep your parents’ house. I must say, I admire your bravery and courage. But I have to ask, are your brave enough to go against me?”
“I did not mean to go against you Luna Freya, my sincere apologies. I only made that request because I need a roof over my head and that house is the only thing I have left... I was born and raised in that house, please do not take it away from me Luna.” I said, tears welling up in my eyes.
“What happened? Why are you crying? Common sweetheart I am not Lucian or the alpha I can see right through this act of yours!” Luna Freya said, a frown on her face.
“It is not an act Luna Freya, I really do not have a place to stay. Please have mercy on me and let me keep the house.” I begged.
“I would love to let you keep the house, but if I do that where would I keep my meat, my finest meat?” Luna Freya mocked.
I was unable to believe my ears, she was going to take away the only thing my parents left for me... and she was going to use it to store meat? Do her meats mean more to her than my life?
“Please Luna Freya, please reconsider. I am young and I have no where else to go.” I pleaded, hoping she would have mercy on me.
“I give you two hours to pack your things and leave that house, or you would face my wrath.” Luna Freya threatened.
“Enough mother! She is in pain, please do not add to her woes. The alpha said she can stay in that house and if anyone has an issue with that, I suggest you go meet the alpha himself.” Lucian said, stepping between I and Luna Freya.
“You are going against your mother for her? Really Lucian? What has she done to you what did she tell you? What magic did you use on my son, your poor omega!” Luna Freya spat the harsh words on my face.
My tears freely flowed down my cheeks, I felt alone and hopeless. I have heard tales of Luna Freya’s brutality, but I never thought she would pick on a wolf young enough to be her daughter.
“Stop it mother!” Lucian snapped at her. “Please leave, leave or else...”
“Fine then, I will leave. But I will make one thing clear to you Kaya. You just drew the battle line and gained a new enemy for yourself. Watch your back.” The Luna said and turned, walking away from us.
“I am sorry about my mother.” Lucian said.
Without a single word, I ran to my parents’ house and shut the door behind me.
I sat in a corner and cried my heart out.
“Where are you mother! Where are you father! Come back and do something. Please help me... they want to take the house away. The Luna wants to take the house away. Where will I go? Where will I live” I screamed, my voice breaking with tears.
I cried and cried for what seemed like an eternity and then finally, I slowly succumbed to sleep.
A loud bang at my door woke me up. I woke up with a start and ran to the front door.
What could be happening? Who banged my door like that? Could it be enemy packs? Have they invaded the pack and now they want to take the rest of us as slaves?
I was struck with fear, and I found it hard to breath. Every shadow startled me, and every noise made me jump. The banging on my door continued.
Slowly I crept to the side of the room and curled myself in a corner. Praying to my parents and the moon goddess for safety and protection.
“Open the door! We are from the palace.” A loud voice yelled and soon, my door burst opened, and large guards walked in.
“Come our Kaya! We know you are in here” a guard screamed.
My heart jumped to my throat; the palace guards are here. But why?
I stayed hidden. My mind racing, as I thought of why the guards were in my house.
I hid in a corner as I watched them tear my house apart, turning the furniture upside down and tearing through the drawers.
“Come out and tell us where you hid it, Kaya! The sooner the better.” The guard screamed again.
My blood ran cold, they were looking for something in my house.
I felt like the ground under my feet was slipping away, and the whole was crashing on me.
“You go and search all the rooms; you go down to the river. Bring her to me, and make sure she is alive.” The guard said.
“What happened? What were they looking for?” I mumbled under my breath.
“Found it!” A guard said and brought out a ring.
My eyes went wide in shock as I saw that ring, it was the same ring on Alpha Silas’s finger a few hours ago.
“How did it get here?” I muttered in disbelief.
“Kaya! We know you stole the alpha’s ring and hid it in your house. Come out now and we will make it easy for you.” The guard said.
I moved my hand to my mouth to muffle my cries, “I did not steal the alpha’s ring. I did not steal it.” I mumbled as hot tears streamed down my cheeks.
“There you are!” A large guard said and roughly pulled me out of the corner I was hiding.
“Well..well ...Well. If it isn’t you again, Kaya!” The Luna said, her eyes blazing with fury.
“What do you have to say for yourself? Stealing from the alpha!” She said.
“I did not do it. I swear, I am being framed.”
