The Man In Black
"Cold-" Edelweiss rubbed her pale palms. Even though she did it stealthily, it didn't work to trick Ryan who was standing two steps behind her.
Ryan sighed, he didn't understand why Edelweiss was so stubborn just to come to the hospital and check on her. Ryan knew Edelweiss hated hospitals, for her hospitals were the worst and scariest place in the world.
"Go inside and get changed right away! I'll buy some vitamins for you!"
"No, you don't have to bother buying vitamins. I'm fine! I'm just a little cold!" She said with her habit of refusing Ryan's offer. Not because she doesn't need Ryan, but because she feels uncomfortable because she keeps bothering Ryan.
Ryan looked at her for a moment with a faint smile. Seeing Ryan smile like that at her made Edelweis embarrassed. She didn't know, what Ryan really thought of her? They were 5 years apart in age, but the way Ryan treated her like a father to his daughter.
"Couldn't you just say, Yes Ryan! Or, ok Ryan!" He asked. Not an exaggeration, but for Edelweiss it was a little difficult to grant.
Edelweiss stifled a laugh seeing Ryan's adorable expression, her attitude made Ryan even more annoyed with her.
"Uhm...well, you can buy me some vitamins. But not now, because I think it's going to rain soon. How about tomorrow?" Edelweiss showed her puppy eyes that made it hard for Ryan to refuse.
"Yeah, okay, Miss independent. I'll do what you want and bring vitamins tomorrow. I'm going home now! You're resting too, ok?"
"Yes, Sir!" She said. Ryan walked to his motorbike which was parked on the terrace of the apartment. Ryan waved before taking his motorbike away into the darkened street.
Edelweiss took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. She returned to her room and was alone in silence. After changing clothes, Edelweiss brewed a cup of tea and played a song from the music player she had brought with her.
From the window, a strong wind and raindrops came in and blew the curtains away. Edelweiss stepped to the window and hurriedly closed before the room was completely wet. However, before she could do so, a black shadow stood in the middle of the narrow alley directly opposite her room.
Edelweiss was on the second floor and the shadowy figure was clearly visible. Edelweiss tried to observe and hoped it was just part of a momentary hallucination. But after she took a good look, the black shadowy figure took on the form of an adult man who was more than 190 cm tall.
"Who's that? What's going on in that place?" She thought. Edelweiss knew that the alley had been used as a dumping ground for garbage in the apartment before the pickup truck arrived at 7am.
The hair on her neck stood up, little by little, the figure she thought was a black shadow was getting clearer. His shape, his clothes, his hair and his face, Edelweiss could see only by the dim light from the lamp that flashed in front of the alley.
Meow...
There was the sound of a cat and the light of his eyes lit up in the light in the middle of the alley. A jet black haired man with blue eyes and all black clothes seemed to hug a black cat with shining blue eyes.
Edelweiss was mesmerized, her mouth opened. The scene she saw looked absolutely stunning with a mysterious dark aura. The man standing in the center of the small alley was the same man who continued to follow her today. The man who claimed to be a demon was named Leviathan.
"He?" Edelweiss couldn't continue her words. Hee mouth was stiff. She was afraid, very afraid. The strange and mysterious man knew of her whereabouts and worst of all he knew that Edelweiss lived in this apartment.
When their eyes met, the man smirked at her. Even though it looked scary, it couldn't be denied that it was the most amazing smile she had ever seen.
"Wh-who is he really?" She thought. Her body was shaking. She quickly closed the window and pulled the curtains.
Edelweiss was restless, she didn't want to think that the strange man was the Leviathan demon as smhe said. She preferred to think that the madman was a stalker, a robber or a murderer.
"How did he know I was here? Was he following me? No way! What should I do now? What if he barges in and climbs up to the window? Should I call the police? But, what if he doesn't have any malicious intent and just want to stand there? No, that's really weird. How can anyone in their right mind be sitting around a trash can?" Edelweiss kept on muttering while outside it started to rain with a strong wind.
After 7 minutes of struggling with her anxiety, Edelweiss tried to get up the courage to peek out the window and see if the strange man was still there or not.
Edelweiss pulled back the curtains of the window and fixed her eyes on the small alley ahead. And what she was worried about was that the strange man was still there, he even sat on the trash can while stroking the black cat sitting on his lap.
"What is he doing there?" She thought. Edelweiss didn't know what the strange man was doing in the rain and strong wind. He didn't seem bothered by such conditions.
He was calm and sat as if there was nothing to think about. Seeing his strange attitude made Edelweiss even more afraid. Edelweiss decided to ignore the man and made sure the doors and windows were tightly closed.
Feeling uneasy, Edelweiss came into the room, lay down and pulled the blanket up to cover half of his face. Edelweiss tried to close her eyes, but the sound of the wind outside made her unable to sleep peacefully.
"What is he doing? And why was he smiling at me just now? What is he planning? Does he want to rob me? But, what does he want to take? I have nothing of value! Does he want to kill me? But why? ? Is he a psychopath who just happens to make me his target like in the movie? Agh... how am I so scared?" She screamed in her heart. The more she thought about it, Edelweiss actually felt more and more scared.
If she contact Ryan now, Ryan will definitely come right away even in the midst of heavy rain. But the problem is, Edelweiss also doesn't have the heart to ask Ryan to come now.
Her eyes glanced at the clock on the wall which was already 9:30 pm. Even though it wasn't too late, the area around here was already deserted. That's what makes Edelweiss afraid to go out at night even though some people say that this area is known to be quite safe.
Edelweiss tried to close her eyes and hoped that she would wake up the next day alive. Strangely, her hope made her realize that her purpose in coming to this place was to end her long suffering.
"Didn't I come to die? Why would I be afraid if he really wanted to kill me? Wouldn't that be better than killing myself?"
