The Blue Flame
Edelweiss opened her eyes and got up from her bed after rethinking her goal. She peeked through the window again and the mysterious man was still where she was, drenched in the rain.
The man covered the black cat with a black coat which he removed from his body. He didn't shiver at all from the cold autumn rain. Edelweiss was amazed, seeing how the man protected the cat with his coat made Edelweiss feel touched.
Edelweiss took her umbrella and Ryan's which was left in her apartment. She decided to approach the man and offer him an umbrella.
As she arrived at the front of the alley, Leviathan turned his head towards her. Edelweiss smiled awkwardly and walked over to him. Although she was a little scared, she somehow thought that this strange man with an amazing face in front of her was not a bad man.
Edelweiss stood right in front of him and covered him. Meanwhile, Leviathan stared at her coldly expressionlessly. He didn't know, why Edelweiss did this when her heart was so scared?
"What are you doing here? Why don't you go home?" Asked Edelweiss. Leviathan was silent for a moment before a smile spread across his face.
"You still don't believe it, do you?"
"What exactly do you mean by that? I'm just asking, what exactly are you doing here? And what's your purpose in following me this far?"
"Haven't I told you many times? I followed you to take you to hell. Is it still unclear?"
"Okay, but why are you taking me to hell? What's your goal?"
"To make you my vassal! How about it, Edelweiss? Are you ready to die?" Leviathan asked so casually. While the girl in front of him, looked at him without blinking.
"So, you want to kill me?"
"Why would I kill you?"
"You want me dead, right?"
"Tch, I didn't mean to die like that? What's the point? You won't be my follower in hell!" He said annoyed. Leviathan didn't understand, was he the one who couldn't negotiate with humans or was his target a bit innocent.
"Hahaha... well okay, it's up to you! Take this umbrella and go! You don't have to worry, I'm going to die soon too!"
"Is that true?"
"Yes!" Edelweiss smiled sadly. She thought, maybe this man in front of her would not know what she was thinking, but everything could be read clearly.
"Okay, I will continue to follow you until I make sure you really die and go to hell!" He said as he accepted the umbrella that Edelweiss gave.
Edelweiss smiled before walking away leaving Leviathan and the cat hanging from his shoulders.
"Hey, do you have any food?"
"Are you hungry?"
"No! Can you give this cat some food? He hasn't eaten anything in two days!" He asked.
Meow...
Edelweiss froze, she looked at the black cat with blue eyes which for some reason looked very similar to this man in front of her.
Heartbeat...
Suddenly, her heart started pounding, she felt the thick smell of the sea fill her nostrils when this man was near her. The same smell when she jumped into the sea that day.
"A-alright, I'll be right back!"
"He ate so well. He must be starving."
Edelweiss's eyes didn't stop blinking when she saw the black cat devour the food she brought. Even if it's just canned tuna because she doesn't have cat food in her house.
"Good, you have to feed him every day! Three times a day." Leviathan said which sounded like an order.
"What? Why me?" Edelweiss protested. Of course who can accept the fact that she has to feed a cat that is not her own three times a day.
"So, who else do you think would do it?"
"But he's not my cat!"
"From now on, he's your cat!"
"What? How could that be?" Edelweiss didn't know what this strange man was really thinking and besides that he looked very calm even in this cold air.
Rain in autumn is no joke, it takes a strong immune system to stay calm when the body is drenched like that. Her conscience was stirred, she knew that this man who claimed to be a demon looked very strange. But it would be even stranger for her to let such a poor guy like him go.
"Have you eaten?" Edelweiss asked, trying to show her generosity.
"I don't need to eat."
"If you don't eat, how can you live?" Once again, Edelweiss' innocence made Leviathan feel a little annoyed at her.
Come on, hasn't he told Edelweiss many times that he is Leviathan, the demon lord of the seas? But, why is Edelweiss still acting like she doesn't believe it at all. Even though it was in fact very hard to believe.
Leviathan stared at Edelweiss for a moment, then took a deep breath. He had no other choice but to show a little of his special ability.
"You really don't think I'm a demon at all, do you?"
"No!"
"Not a bit?"
"Not one bit."
"Tch, fine! I'll show you!" He said. Leviathan smirked, showing his demon fangs.
Flames appeared over the black robe he was wearing. A blue flame that doesn't go out even in the rain. Edelweiss was shocked, she was surprised that the fire that appeared suddenly burned the strange and mysterious man in front of her. The small fire grew bigger and covered Leviathan's body.
"Fire? Y-you're burning. You're burning...!" Edelweiss screamed in panic, trying to put out the fire by dousing the Leviathan with rainwater.
"Hahaha...you're a stupid girl, huh?" Leviathan laughed heartily, the flames enveloping his body instantly extinguished itself.
Edelweiss was dumbfounded, her eyes bulging. She really couldn't believe what she was seeing and even though it looked amazing, she still couldn't believe that this man was a demon.
"How? You believe me now?"
