Chapter 5

"She heals faster than anyone I've ever seen. Her healing speed is incredible." I heard a gentle male voice whisper close to me, the voice filled with awe and curiosity.

"I wasn't expecting her to heal that fast either; I'm not entirely sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing, considering the situation she is in right now. The alpha must not find out I brought you here to treat her; he'll be very pissed," another voice replied, and I felt my brow crease in confusion as several thoughts began to swarm in my head.

'Who are these people?'

'Where am I?'

'Was I rescued by some nearby pack?'

Unable to hold my curiosity at bay, my eyes fluttered open as I looked around the dark and gloomy room. A groan escaped my lips as I felt the coldness of the hard floor against my skin. Realizing I was lying on the cold hard floor, I immediately sat up, causing me a whiplash from the sudden movement.

As my vision adjusted to the dim lighting of the room, I came to realize it was a dungeon from the horrid stench of blood and the decaying scent it was giving off. I noticed two men standing a few feet away from me, deep in conversation. One was dressed in a white coat, while the other wore a simple shirt and jeans. The man in the white coat seemed to be a doctor, considering the stethoscope hanging around his neck.

The sound of my groan alerted them to my conscious state, and they quickly turned to face me. The doctor's eyes widened in surprise, while the other man's gaze softened with concern.

"You're awake," the man in the white coat announced, stating the obvious as he approached me. "How are you feeling?" He asked softly, probably trying not to startle me.

"I'm fine... I think," I replied, my voice hoarse as I gingerly sat up with my back resting against the shabby walls of the dungeon. "Who are you? And where am I?" I asked as I let out a dry cough from how sore and dry my throat was.

Noting my discomfort, the man in the shirt walked deeper into the cell, towards me, and handed me a bottle of water. "Here, drink this. Although you've healed a little, you still have a lot more healing to do, so take things easy with yourself. I also prepared some dishes for you; you have to eat quickly," he advised with a gentle tone, making me almost lose my guard against him.

Almost. There was no way I could lose my guard in an unfamiliar environment and from the scent they are giving off, I can tell the two are werewolves just like me. Which could only mean I have trespassed into another alpha's territory.

My body tensed up, and the bottle of water I was holding fell off my hands as I felt a domineering presence begin to approach the cell I was in. My wolf whimpered in my head, growling lowly as the presence got closer.

The figure of a man appeared in the doorway, dressed head to toe in pitch-black attire. His face looked like it was carved from granite, his jaw clenched tight in a thin line, his glare sending a chill through the air. His cold, calculating eyes darted from me to the plate of food beside me before meeting the other man in the room.

He let out a threatening growl, seeing the guilty look in the man's eyes. "Since when have you started defying my orders, Lucas?" he demanded coldly, and my body reacted, almost submitting to him.

However, being from an alpha bloodline myself, I could never easily submit to others, which is why I am still able to resist him.

"I told you to lock her up in the dungeon without treating her or giving her food, and yet you did both. Are you going against my orders now?" He growled, and the other man, named Lucas, bowed to him.

"I'm sorry, Alpha. However, I only brought the doctor here today; she healed on her own," Lucas explained, and the Alpha sneered as he turned towards me with eyes full of malice. He grabbed my chin and roughly pulled it up to look at him.

As his skin came into contact with mine, I felt the familiar tingling sensation and a pull in my heart. My wolf sneered defensively. Remembering how bad it had ended with Conri the first time. I noticed his eyes darken as he also noticed the subtle signs of the mate bond between us.

He flinched and immediately removed his hands from my skin as he had just gotten burned by it. He glared at me with eyes full of hatred and contempt for my wolf, and I boiled with anger as we returned his glare. "Who are you and what are you doing on my pack territory?" he demanded coldly, and I sneered, unwilling to submit to the arrogant-looking Alpha before me.

"I should be the one asking who you are! What do you want with me, and where am I?" I demanded, making sure my voice was just as cold and domineering as his.

His face darkened in rage as he noticed the defiance in my voice. From his reaction, I could tell he was not used to being defiled by someone.

But that's none of my business. I am an alpha just as much as he is!

Seeing my disrespectful attitude, he crossed his hands over his chest and his lip curled into a smirk. "My name is Karl Corbyn, the alpha of the Lycan Bloodline pack, and you are on my pack's territory," he introduced with a proud and arrogant tone.

My blood ran cold in fear as I heard the name of the pack I was in.

Lycan Bloodline Pack.

The Lycan Bloodline pack and my previous pack was sworn enemies that could never leave under the same sky. No one knew when the feud had started or why it had started in the first place because the two packs were constantly at each other's throats, and judging from the hatred in his eyes and from the way I was immediately thrown into the dungeon, he already knew I was a member of the Dynamite pack and his sworn enemy.

There is no way I would survive if I stayed here for any longet than I already stayed!

I jumped to my feet and dashed towards the door, only to be pulled back by his strong, callous hands. "Where the fuck do you think you are going? You trespass in my territory and then you think you can leave as you please?" He growled as he threw me back into the cell, my back hitting the solid wall.

I growled threateningly as my claws elongated, ready to attack him. "Do you really think you can win against me in that state you are in?" He sneered as he stalked towards me like a predator hunting for its prey.

"Why are you on my territory? What did you want?" He demanded coldly and I sneered "I don't fucking answer to you!" I retorted and his face darkened.

"You are on my fucking territory! You answer whatever I ask you!"

"Make me!"

As he got closer, I growled and swiped my claw at him, tearing the sleeve of his black shirt. He glowered and grabbed my face. "I admire your fighting spirit." He chuckled darkly, and I spit in his face. As he wiped it off, a sinister smile bloomed on his face. "Why don't we play a game?" He asked, and I shivered at the underlying threat in his voice.

His warm breath fanned through his ears as his face got close enough. "Let's see who will succeed first. Will I break you first, or will you get what you want first? The winner takes it all," he chuckled, and he released me as he walked out of the cell.

"It's going to be fun at least; you won't die easy due to your healing speed. See you soon."
