CHAPTER 3

AMELIA

As we talked, I continued to observe the surrounding hall, absorbing every detail with a mixture of fascination and apprehension. There was something magical about that place, something that sparked a sense of wonder and admiration within me.

As the night unfolded before me, I knew I would face many challenges and adversities. But with the help of people like that kind woman by my side, I was determined to persevere.

The sound of the doors opening echoed through the hall, cutting through the murmurs of conversations and bringing palpable tension to the air. My body tensed, and my muscles contracted as I anxiously awaited the entrance of the Alpha King.

Part of me imagined an ugly, fat man, with a cruel and relentless expression. But when I saw the man who entered the hall, my heart skipped a beat in my chest.

He was strong and imposing, with black hair cascading in curls over broad shoulders. A shining crown adorned his head, casting reflections of light around the hall. His dark cloak swept across the castle floor with majestic elegance.

My eyes widened at the beauty of the man before me, but a wave of apprehension also washed over me. I knew many spoke of him as a cruel and ruthless king, capable of inflicting pain and suffering with a single glance.

He was a wolf king, and his presence exuded an air of undeniable authority and power. His golden, penetrating eyes swept the twelve girls before him, assessing each one with an intensity that made me shudder.

When his gaze finally settled on me, my heart began to beat wildly in my chest. I felt like prey before a predator, cornered by his dominant presence.

He was more than just handsome; he was magnetic and hypnotizing. His face was sculpted in firm, angular lines, and there was an aura of danger around him that sent shivers down my spine.

I joined the other girls in a reverence, bowing before the king with a mixture of respect and fear. His eyes sparkled with fierce intensity, and I felt like I was being probed into the soul.

He sat on his royal throne, his imposing figure standing out against the dark background of the hall. The silence was deafening as everyone awaited his words, eager to know what his next move would be.

As he began to speak, his voice was deep and melodious, filling the hall with his undeniable authority. He informed us about the rituals and traditions that would be followed during the ball, detailing the expectations and protocols we should adhere to.

"As every subject of this kingdom knows our traditions of thousands of years, at this ball I will choose my chosen one, a girl who can become my queen."

"The chosen girl will have wealth, power, and a crown by my side. She will have my protection and the loyalty of all my kingdom by marrying me."

I listened attentively, absorbing every word with a mixture of curiosity and apprehension. I was immersed in a world completely different from my own, a world of political intrigues and fragile alliances, where danger lurked in every shadow.

As the king spoke, I found myself studying him with a blend of fascination and fear. He was so different from anyone I had ever known—so distant and mysterious.

As he continued to speak, I found myself being drawn into the whirlwind of emotions surrounding him. There was something about him that intrigued me and stirred an unsettling curiosity within me.

"Only one girl will be chosen, so enjoy the ball."

I knew I couldn't trust him completely and that there was a latent danger in his presence. But at the same time, there was a magnetic attraction that I couldn't deny—a sense that he was more than just a cruel and ruthless king.

As the ball continued and the music filled the air, I found myself being swept into the center of the festivities. I danced with the other guests, trying to ignore the feeling that something sinister was unfolding around me.

But no matter how much I tried to distract myself, I couldn't get the Alpha King out of my mind. His golden, penetrating eyes continued to haunt me, reminding me of the true nature of the world I had entered.

As the ball continued, I found myself immersed in a dangerous game of intrigues and betrayals, struggling to find my place in a world where appearances deceived and alliances shifted like the wind.

And at the center of it all was the Alpha King, a dark and imposing presence that threatened to consume everything around him. I knew I had to be careful with him and that I couldn't trust his words or his gentle gestures.

But as frightening as he was, there was also something about him that drew me in—something I couldn't ignore.

Hours dragged on since the triumphant entrance of King Alpha, each moment feeling like an eternity as I stood, watching his every move intently. The tension in the air was palpable; suspense was growing as the king approached the twelve girls, dancing with each of them in a succession of graceful, elegant movements.

I remained still, eyes fixed on the monarch as he twirled through the hall with his chosen ones. Every step he took seemed to echo in my mind, amplifying my own anxiety and anticipation.

Finally, it was my turn. My heart raced as King Alpha approached me, his golden eyes fixed on me with overwhelming intensity. I curtsied before him, feeling small and vulnerable in the presence of his dominance.

"Your Majesty.", I murmured, my words barely audible amidst the crowd's murmurs.

He watched me for a moment, his eyes roaming the length of my red dress with an unreadable expression. A faint smile curled his lips as he spoke, his voice deep and melodious, echoing in the hall.

"The red color suits you well...", he said, his voice reverberating with authority and admiration.

"Thank you, Majesty.", I replied, a wave of gratitude washing over me for his compliment.
