CHAPTER 5

AMY

A sigh escapes my slightly parted lips as I let myself be enveloped by the comforting warmth of his kiss. My hands naturally find their way to his neck, holding him tenderly as if he were my safe harbor amid a storm.

Feeling Aaron's kindness, I feel lighter and more relaxed. He is a true gentleman, and every move is executed with care and delicacy, without haste.

He continues to kiss me leisurely, as if time is suspended around us. Aaron's hands remain caressing my face affectionately, conveying a sense of security and comfort I have never experienced before. I surrender to the moment, trusting him in a way I have never trusted any other man.

"Don't be afraid of me, Amy...", he whispers near my lips.

As his hands slide to my shoulders, I feel the tension dissipate under his skilled touches. He gently massages my muscles, easing the accumulated stiffness in my body.

I interrupt the kiss momentarily, opening my eyes to find Aaron's red pupils fixed on my face. A shiver runs down my spine at his whispered words. I nodded in response, understanding the meaning behind them.

"You can ask me to stop at any time, you understand?", he asks, and I nod again.

I turn my back to him, feeling his hands slide down my waist. His lips find their way to my neck, sending waves of shivers. I close my eyes, surrendering to the pleasure he provides.

I never thought this moment could happen, and now I am married to a vampire while all the other vampires may try to kill me for something I didn't do.

Aaron's kisses descend to my neck, exploring every inch of my skin with devotion and tenderness. I feel enveloped by a mix of conflicting emotions, but for now, I allow myself to feel, letting myself be carried away by the warmth and intimacy shared between us.

I remain facing away from Aaron, feeling his hands glide gently down my back until they find the clasp of my long dress. A sigh escapes my lips as he begins to undo the dress slowly, and the sensation is a mixture of nervousness and excitement.

I surrender to his touch, his relaxed lips brushing against my neck and sending delightful shivers.

As the dress slides off my shoulders and falls around my feet, I close my eyes, allowing myself to get lost in the sensation of freedom accompanying each discarded piece of clothing. I turn my head slightly, seeking Aaron's lips in a more intense kiss, a gesture that expresses my desire and surrender.

Feeling his hands sliding over my belly, I melt into his touches, yielding to the warmth and intensity of the moment. He turns me to face him, and as I open my eyes, I meet his gaze fixed on me, full of admiration and desire.

We kiss again, our lips moving in a dance of passion and desire. Aaron's hands explore every part of my body, sending waves of pleasure throughout my being. Each touch promises pleasure, a silent testament to our mutual desire.

I completely surrender to the moment, allowing the overwhelming sensations to consume me. I lose myself in his arms, not thinking about the past or the future, just living in the present and savoring every shared moment.

Furthermore, I never thought sex could be such a pleasurable and liberating thing; if I close my eyes at this moment, I can still remember every sensation that Aaron provoked in my body.

I blink my eyes, lie on the bed, and touch my lips, feeling a small smile growing as I remember how he kissed me. I sit up in bed, seeing that my body is still completely naked.

Not only that, but I stretch my hand, grabbing Aaron's white shirt on the bed before putting the shirt on my body. I get out of bed, realizing I am alone in the room.

The sky is still dark outside, and I realize I slept for a few hours, but not much.

I furrow my brow as I begin to hear voices coming from outside the room.

I turn my head while listening to the door being opened and blink my eyes when I see him with a solemn and tense expression.

His mother is behind him, entering the room with him, and I can feel that something is happening this year.

"They won't touch her, mother."

"What's going on, Aaron?", I ask, hugging my body when I see that I am facing them, wearing only his long shirt on my body.

"The vampires from Dimitri's clan are coming here to find you, but I won't let them touch you."

"What? How do you know that?", I ask, confused, seeing that the vampires haven't arrived here yet.

"My mother saw this; she can see things that are going to happen; she can see the future, Amy.", he says, and I look at her completely surprised.

I know that each vampire has an extraordinary power, but I still need to find out what Aaron's power is.

"And when will they arrive?"

"Soon, I need you and Elara to stay safe together.", he says, approaching me and holding my hand before pulling me out of the room.

I am completely confused when he enters his daughter's room and, seconds later, leads us to a door that I have never entered before.

"This is a secret place in the mansion, and you two will be safe while I sort this out.", he says, opening the door. I watch as he touches a wall and beckons us to enter the secret room.

"Daddy, what's happening?", Elara asks, clutching my hand. He looks at me, and I understand what he's asking of me.

"We'll be fine, Elara. We'll stick together until he returns, okay?", I say, touching her shoulders. She nods, and I raise my head, widening my eyes, when he hands me a gun.

"What's this?"

"Have you ever used a gun?", he asks, and I shake my head quickly as he places the gun in my hand.

"It's easy, but always aim for a vampire's heart, right? They're coming, and I can't let them lay a hand on you. Take care of Elara, please.", he says, and I nod, still feeling his hand holding mine.

I can feel my heart pounding in my chest and fear growing inside me once again.

"I'll keep her safe; be careful, Aaron...", I whisper, and he nods, rushing out of the room while I touch the wall and watch it close again.

"Amy?"

"Yes?", I move closer to Elara, seeing she's scared too.

I don't hesitate to embrace the girl, feeling her hold me tightly and resting her head on my shoulder. Furthermore, I close my eyes, still holding the gun Aaron gave me.

"Do you think something will happen to my dad?"

"I'm sure nothing will happen to him, Elara. He's strong, and nothing will happen to him.", I whisper, opening my eyes and seeing her nod.

I feel her grip my hand tightly, and I look down to see she's still holding onto me as if I could protect her from everything.

I'm scared, too, but I need to trust Aaron. Minutes pass, and I furrow my brow, still holding Elara tightly, when I start hearing the loud voices of men.

The vampires have arrived, and they're here because of me. They want me, and Aaron is determined not to let that happen. I sigh as I look at the gold ring, remembering every detail of our wedding.

I look up and see that we're in a secret room, but I can still hear the voices of the vampires, and I wonder how many men are in the mansion.

"Where's the girl?", one of the vampires asks Aaron, and I feel my entire body shiver.

"She's not like him; she's human; she doesn't have what he's looking for!"

"She's his daughter, the daughter of the most powerful vampire, and of course, she's very involved in this whole situation. She knows exactly where the artifacts he needs are.", the vampire says, and I fall silent, feeling Elara's arms around my body now.

"He has no power over her; she's not a vampire, and no one will touch her or harm her."

"Our leader wants to know that, but you can't protect her forever, Aaron. She's the key to something much bigger, and he won't stop until he finds her, and a lot of human blood will be shed while he does."

I widen my eyes, hearing Aaron's voice grow louder and more severe as he continues to speak to the vampires.

I blink, thinking about what he's telling Aaron now. Furthermore, I don't like to think that people will die because of me.

"Now tell us where the girl is, Aaron!"

"Hand over the girl, or you won't have a second chance; her father will find her anyway, and there's no escaping him, and you know that."

"He won't get her!", Aaron says louder, and I tremble as I hear noises of things breaking and sounds of fighting.

Elara hugs me tighter, and I close my eyes, still able to hear the men's voices.

"She's here; I can feel it; I can smell her blood; look for the girl now!"

My heart beat faster as I heard footsteps running through the mansion, and I could still hear Aaron fighting someone.

I stop breathing when I hear the footsteps getting closer and closer to where we're hiding.

Still embracing Elara, I look at the gun in my hand, realizing I can't hesitate to use it against any vampire who tries to hurt us.

I need to be prepared.
