What Should I Do With You…?

Leon asked about her work as a social media influencer, which Nora answered without having to lie because her professional world was real.

Nora also asked Leon about his experiences while serving abroad, and he happily shared his most interesting ones.

After dinner was over they moved to the sitting room.

Leon turned on a vinyl record which soon began to play soft songs. Jane appeared, “would you like anything to drink?”

Nora politely asked for tea, while Leo asked for coffee.

"We have chamomile, lavender and pepermint, Miss. Which one do you prefer?"

"Chamomile. Please."

Jane smiled and nodded in understanding, while she didn't even ask Leon. Probably because she knew what kind of coffee Leon liked.

Leon sat on one of the sofas, leaning back casually.

Nora didn't see any desire on his face other than just to have a conversation and that was a relief.

Contrary to her hopes of hooking up with a rich man to save her life from being thrown out on the streets, Nora was determined to leave immediately if Leon hinted at anything more than dinner and a sit-down chat.

Because if she slept with Leon Carusso tonight, she would feel like her body had been bought for Leon's winnings in the auction.

She was not a woman who sold her body for money or pleasure.

"So your sister... I thought you were an only child."

"Katie. She was two years older than me. She died when I was 17."

"Oh, I'm sorry. You must have missed her a lot. Were you close to her?"

In Nora's mind, she could still see Katie's laughing face if she managed to prank her.

Katie was very fond of hiding things that she wanted to use.

After half an hour of searching while crying and getting angry, Katie would give her a clue as to where it was hidden.

"Yes. We were very close," Nora replied. Even Nora could never get angry if Katie was being prankish.

“Why did she die?"

"Traffic accident," Nora answered briefly.

She was always uncomfortable when people asked her about the cause of Katie's death.

Because the memories in her mind were so hazy, and all the stories she knew came from her mother.

“I’m sorry to hear that. I can’t imagine losing one of my brothers, even though we weren’t always close.”

“I used to be very sad, but not anymore. Everything blurred during that incident, all that remains are the memories of when Katie was alive.”

Leon reached out his hand and grasped Nora’s hand.

The grip felt warm and sincere.

Throughout her fake life, Nora had never mentioned Katie. However, in front of Leon it was as if there was an urge to reveal a bit of her real life.

There was something in Leon that spoke sincerity, even though he seemed cold, indifferent and unreachable.

Leon still looked at her with an intense gaze, then suddenly let go of her hand.

His cold expression returned. “Yeah, I guess it’s time for you to go home, isn’t it?” he asked Nora. “I’ll drop you off.”

So this is how their hundred thousand dollar date ended, Nora thought.

Relief and disappointment were in her mind.

She was relieved not to have to save her pride in Leon’s bed, on the other hand she was worried that after this she would never see him again.

Nora wished she had the courage to tell him that she wanted to spend more time with him.

She couldn’t deny that her heart was attracted to Leon.

She wished he was her anchor, saving her from a life in danger of falling apart.

Instead of arguing, Nora just smiled. She had to go home.

Even if Leon was doing tricks to encourage her to seduce him into bed.

“Yes, I do have to go home,” she said with a sweet smile. “But can I go to the restroom for a minute?”

“Sure. Just use the one in the bedroom. I’ll wait here.”

When he saw Nora hesitate, Leon sighed.

“What? There’s no trick, Nora. I won’t lock you in there.”

Nora shrugged, as if it didn’t matter to her, though she was actually relieved. She left Leon in the sitting room and went to the bedroom Leon had indicated.

Nora tried to concentrate on her goal. She just wanted to wash her face a little, fix her makeup, and calm down while looking at her face in the mirror.

Five minutes later she returned to the sitting room, but didn’t find Leon.

“Leon?” she called out. She had already decided that she would decline Leon’s offer to take her home.

It would be more practical for her to take a taxi and head straight to her secret apartment. “Leon, I want to say goodbye. You don’t have to take me home.”

Leon didn’t appear to respond. Nora decided to look for him because he couldn’t have just left.

She entered several rooms, but didn’t find him.

However, as she approached the door leading to the balcony, she heard Leon’s soft voice talking on the phone.

She didn’t mean to eavesdrop and was about to move away when she heard a few sentences of the conversation.

“Yes, Diane. I know I should have told you earlier, but I met someone today and couldn’t just leave.”

From where she stood, Nora held her breath. Was Leon talking about her?

“She’s in the sitting room right now. A date. Yes, I’m on a date, but it’s not what you think.” Leon’s voice rang out again. “I’m not sure what to say, Diane. I feel uncomfortable.”

Nora felt her heart skip a beat. What was Leon trying to say? Was it to her? Was Leon uncomfortable with her presence? Was there something wrong?

Nora heard Leon sigh heavily. “Yes, I know, you’ve looked everywhere. You know that the murder is not my responsibility. Yes, I’ll see you later.”

When Leon returned to the sitting room, Nora was already there, pretending to wait. She tried to hide her anxiety and got up from the sofa.

“Leon, you don’t have to take me home. I can take a taxi.”

However, Leon shook his head and grabbed his car keys from the table. “No, Nora. I’ll drive you.”

Leon Carusso stopped his car some distance from where he dropped Nora off in front of the elite apartment complex.

He saw Nora sneaking back to the street, waved for the taxi to stop and got into it, leaving the place behind.

He shook his head with a small curve of his lips. “Oh, Nora,” he whispered. “What should I do with you now?”
