Chapter two
CHAPTER 2: THE MAFIA BOSS’S BRIDE
Andrea’s POV
It had been two months since my wedding to Don Emil Ferrari and it had been two months since I last heard from him, the maids in the house told me that he had away on a business trip and will be back soon but I was not really holding my breath.
I had not wanted this marriage but I had agreed to it since it made my papa happy, I had given up my home and family just to make him happy, I had given up the only man I had ever loved, my beloved Lorenzo.
Lorenzo had been one of my father’s men and had been assigned as my driver/Bodyguard. He was nice and spoke to me like human. My father and brothers treated me like some fragile artifact, they never allowed me to do a single thing, father felt guilty towards me because mother had died birthing me into this world, I never grew up with a mother and he was too busy to take care of me, so it was really the maids who raised me, I did not blame him though, I understood that he had only done what was needed to be done for the family.
Lorenzo was the first person to really know me for who I was, not the blind Severino daughter but me, Andrea, he had talked with me, he had laughed with me and it did not take long for me to fall in love with him.
I remembered the first time he asked for permission to kiss me, I had smiled shyly and told him that he could, I remember that day as one of the happiest day of my life. I had thought I would get married to him one day and then we will happily ever after.
But then, My elder Brother Lucca had to go and kill a son of the Ferrari family and papa had to find a way to appease them, papa had never asked me for anything but that day, he had begged me to marry Emil Ferrari, he never needed me for anything so I was happy that I could finally do something for my family. I had agreed to marry Emil Ferrari without a second thought but later that night when I was alone with Lorenzo and I realized that I will never get to be with him again, I had wept but I had to what I must for my family.
“You should come inside madam, it looks like it will rain soon.” I heard Wilma say to me.
Her voice pulled me out of my thoughts and I was back to my reality, I was now in the Ferrari mansion as Donna Ferrari, this was my life now and nothing or anyone could change it.
Wilma was the head of the staff in the Ferrari household, from her voice, I could tell that she was quite elderly, she had been so nice to me since I had arrived here.
“Thank you Wilma, can you take me to my room please?” I said to her.
“Of course Madam,” I heard her say and soon enough, I felt her warm hands on my shoulders as she led me inside away from the garden.
I had yet to get used to moving around on my own in this house, back at home, I could about on my own.
“You must be so lonely here child, the master left on the night of your wedding and has not returned till now. you must feel so lost don’t you child.” Wilma said as she led me to my room.
If I was going to be honest with myself, I was glad, he was away, I had no idea what I was supposed to say to him and how I was supposed to act around him, I did not love him, I did not even know him, I had only heard his name when it was mentioned by either my father or my brothers.
“Don’t worry my child, the master may be a frightening man but he is kind to his family, he protects them and cares for them and now that you are member of his family, he will protect you and also care for you.” Wilma said to me, her voice was gentle and warm and it gave me hope, made me believe that I should not think the worst of what my life had become.
Finally we arrived at my room and she led me to my bed, I sat on it and said “Thank you Wilma, your words are very comforting to me” I said to her.
“You are welcome child,” Wilma said.
I smiled and relaxed on my bed.
“Call for me or any of the others if you need anything,” Wilma said as she left the room.
Emil’s POV
I arrived home late at night, I was sure it was well past mid night, I had arrived together with my brothers. We had been away for two months now, I had not expected my dealings in London to take so long.
One of the casinos had been in a fire and had to undergo major renovations and also three of our workers had died in the fire and I had to go personally to visit families in person and give them compensation.
We were still unable to find out how exactly the fire started, it had started in the storeroom and the workers there told me there had been a barrel of petroleum that had been slipped in, it was to be used the next day.
I had lost quite a substantial of amount of money because of the fire but now that I made sure everything was back on track, I could rest easy.
I climbed up the stairs to my room, I opened the door and found the room in darkness, I had not expected the fire to be lit anyways, Wilma had no idea, we will be returning tonight.
I pulled my clothes of my body and stepped into the bathroom to have a hot shower, the hot water poured down on my body and loosened my tired muscles. I was tired and the only thing I wanted to do was to get to get some sleep. It had been a long journey.
After I was done with my shower, I walked to closet and found some comfortable pajamas to sleep in.
I fell into bed and pulled the cover and turned to my side, my hand immediately came in contact with something warm and soft, without further delay, I sat up quickly, my body was suddenly alert.
I sat up quickly and switched on the light, I looked at the bed immediately and immediately relaxed when I saw a woman sleeping soundly on the bed, her black hair had fallen over and covered half of her face.
I felt a sudden shame envelope me immediately, I had completely forgotten about her, she had not crossed my mind even once while I was in London, I had been so busy with my business that I had not spared her a single thought.
I walked over to her and sat gently on the bed, she did not even stir in her sleep, I wondered why I had accepted to marry her the moment I saw her, perhaps it was the fact that there was something about her that appealed to me, there was something soft and innocent about her and then there were her eyes, her eyes despite been blind, was the most beautiful eyes I had ever seen, she was nothing like I had ever seen before, I felt peace when I looked at her.
Even now, there was a peaceful air surrounding her, I reached my hand out to brush the hair that had fallen over her face so that I could see her face clearly.
All of a sudden, her eyes sprang open.
