Chapter 7 Alarm Handling!
Frederick sighed in relief as he considered the ordinary background of the woman in front of him.
Maybe he was overthinking.
Over the years, he had climbed to such a high position that countless people wanted him dead.
It made him a bit paranoid at times.
He straightened his sleeves. Since this incident was just a case of a mischievous kid causing trouble, they would handle it through the usual channels.
"Compensate," Frederick said coldly.
Isabella sighed deeply when she heard that she had to pay.
Although she was broke, the incident had already happened, and the surveillance footage confirmed it. She couldn't deny it.
She asked Frederick, "So... how much do I need to pay?"
Elliot, standing nearby, held up five fingers.
Isabella looked at him and then naively turned to Frederick. "Five thousand dollars?"
Frederick was speechless.
Elliot handed the invoice to Isabella and said, "This custom Rolls-Royce CEO model is worth $5 million. Since you've confirmed that the kid in the footage is yours, you'll have to pay the full amount."
"How much?" Isabella almost screamed.
She looked at Frederick in shock, feeling her heart about to leap out of her chest.
Five million dollars!
How could she come up with that kind of money?
Isabella instantly felt defeated.
"I really can't come up with $5 million..."
Frederick didn't even lift his eyelids. "How much can you pay?"
Isabella counted on her fingers. She only had $20,000 at the moment.
She said nervously, "Can I pay $20,000 upfront and the rest later?"
Frederick's expression was serious as he turned to Elliot. "Call the police."
'Call the police!'
Isabella panicked immediately.
'If the police got involved, I, as the guardian, would end up in jail.'
'If I went to jail, what would happen to my three kids?'
Thinking of this, Isabella quickly said, "No, don't call the police!"
Frederick smiled at her words.
He wasn't known for his kindness.
"Either you pay, or I call the police. Your choice."
Isabella was on the verge of tears.
"I know my son Justin damaged your car. It was his fault, and I'll do my best to pay you back. Just please don't call the police. If I go to jail, my three kids will be without a mother."
Isabella pleaded with Frederick, tears streaming down her face.
If it had been the old Frederick, he wouldn't have shown any mercy.
But when she mentioned her kids being without a mother.
It made him think of his son, Dennis.
Just then, his phone rang. It was the housekeeper.
"What?! Okay, I'll be right there!"
He hung up, looking visibly paler.
Elliot saw Frederick's reaction and guessed that something must have happened with Dennis again.
Having worked with Frederick for many years, Elliot knew him well. No matter how big the crisis, Frederick never lost his composure.
Except when it came to Dennis and that woman from six years ago.
Elliot glanced at Isabella and asked, "What about Ms. Beniere? Should we call the police?"
Frederick frowned, thinking about her being a single mother, and felt a pang of sympathy.
"Lock her up for now. We'll deal with it later."
With that, Frederick left without looking back.
Isabella was frantic.
'I couldn't afford to pay, but if I was locked up, what would happen to my kids?'
The door was locked mercilessly, and no matter how much Isabella banged on it, the guards outside remained indifferent.
Downstairs, Elliot opened the car door, and Frederick got in with a stern expression.
"Get us there in three minutes," he ordered the driver.
When they arrived at the villa, they saw Alison approaching with red-rimmed eyes.
"Frederick, it's Dennis..."
Alison looked like she was about to cry.
Frederick asked anxiously, "What happened to Dennis?"
The butler sighed. "Dennis was fine this morning, but this afternoon, Ms. Walter brought him a gift, and he suddenly threw a tantrum. We couldn't calm him down, and he even hurt Ms. Walter."
Alison showed the scratch marks on her wrist. "It's just a slight injury."
Frederick looked at her coldly.
'I didn't like her and wasn't fond of her ways, but she had saved Dennis's life, so I had always treated her with respect.'
'I had suspected that Alison had ulterior motives for getting close to me.'
'After all, finding Dennis during a film shoot and bringing him back to my side made it seem like someone had done it on purpose.'
'But after a thorough investigation, it turned out that Dennis was indeed found by Alison during her shoot, just as she had said.'
Thinking of this, Frederick felt a surge of anger.
'Did that woman abandon Dennis so heartlessly?'
Seeing Frederick looking at her, Alison felt a thrill of excitement.
She thought it was because she looked particularly stunning today and had caught his eye.
Frederick rarely looked at her.
Thinking this, she decided to seize the moment and moved closer to Frederick.
Suddenly, there was a loud crash from upstairs.
Frederick's expression became stern, and he rushed upstairs.
