Chapter 1 Let's Get a Divorce

Nathaniel Heilbronn pushed Aurelia Semona's legs apart on the soft bed, revealing her still-dry pussy. He didn't bother with any more foreplay, just slapped on a condom and went for it.

Aurelia's face went pale from the pain, and she let out a low cry, trying to push him away. Nathaniel sneered, grabbing her hand. "Stop acting all innocent. You really think you can stay pure for Samuel now?"

Aurelia's resistance crumbled at his words. Her hands fell limp at her sides, and she turned her head away.

Noticing that she had stopped resisting, a dark look flashed in Nathaniel's eyes, quickly replaced by a stronger desire. He moved with purpose, his big hands roughly kneading her breasts. "Chelsea's back in town. Let's get those divorce papers signed."

Hearing Chelsea Thompson's name, Aurelia felt lost, tears streaming down her face.

A few hours earlier, Aurelia had been mugged on her way home. Two tall thugs cornered her in a dark alley. Panicking, she offered her designer handbag, pleading, "This is a limited edition. You can sell it for a lot. Take my bracelet too."

But the thugs just dragged her deeper into the alley. Aurelia screamed for help, trying to stop them from tearing her dress, but her cries went unheard in the remote area.

One thug ripped her clothes, his hands roaming over her body. The slimy touch made Aurelia shudder, and she tearfully begged, "I have money. My husband is rich. I'll give you whatever you want. Just let me go."

The thugs only got rougher. Just as they were about to strip her completely, a patrolling cop heard the commotion and rushed in with his baton.

The thugs exchanged a glance, snatched the wedding ring from Aurelia's finger, and fled. The ring slipped off easily, not meant for her finger.

Surviving the ordeal, Aurelia, wrapped in the cop's jacket, squatted by the roadside and called Nathaniel, her legal husband.

After numerous attempts, the call finally connected over half an hour later. But instead of Nathaniel's voice, a soft, melodious woman's voice answered, "Sorry, Nathaniel's in the shower. Want to leave a message?"

The background was filled with the sound of running water. Aurelia recognized the voice. It was Chelsea, Nathaniel's first love.

After hanging up, Aurelia received a message from Chelsea: an ultrasound image showing a six-week pregnancy. Aurelia felt all her strength drain away. She turned off her phone and buried her head in her knees, trembling.

When she was dragged into the alley, she didn't cry. When the thugs assaulted her, she didn't cry. But when a crowd gathered around her, asking if she was okay, she broke down and cried loudly.

Aurelia was lost in her thoughts, barely noticing Nathaniel still going at it. Nathaniel suddenly picked up the pace, making Aurelia let out a soft moan. "Cat got your tongue 'cause you're so happy?"

Aurelia held back her tears, her body trembling. "Yeah. Congrats. I hope you and Ms. Thompson have a long and happy marriage."

After what felt like forever, Nathaniel finally stopped. He whispered in her ear, "Thanks. If you and Samuel ever need anything, you know where to find me." Aurelia didn't catch his words clearly and drifted off to sleep.

The next morning, the ringing phone woke her up. It was the cop who had saved her last night. "Mrs. Heilbronn, we caught the two thugs. Looks like they were following orders, but they're not saying who hired them. Have you pissed anyone off?"

The bright sunlight made Aurelia's eyes water. She raised her hand to shield them. "Does my husband know about this?"

The cop hesitated. "No, we haven't told Mr. Heilbronn yet. If you want, we can..."

Aurelia cut him off. "No need. Don't tell him."

As a housewife with no social life or close friends, the only reason someone might target her was her marriage to Nathaniel. The thugs ignored her designer clothes but took the ill-fitting wedding ring. The answer was clear.

After hanging up, Aurelia went downstairs. Nathaniel was in the dining room. Seeing her, he pointed to the divorce papers and a check in front of him. "Sign this, and fill in any amount you want on the check."

Already aware of the divorce, Aurelia wasn't surprised. She glanced at the check and thought, 'Only Nathaniel would give his ex-wife a blank check, not worried that I'd bankrupt him. But with Chelsea's ultrasound image, no wonder he's so generous.'

Aurelia picked up the pen, flipped to the last page, and signed without reading. Nathaniel, reading the newspaper, paused, a hint of displeasure in his eyes.

Aurelia didn't notice. She took a bite of food and asked, "When are we finalizing the divorce?"

Nathaniel put his spoon down with a clink, squinting at her. "In a hurry, are we?"

Aurelia kept eating, her expression indifferent, though her hand trembled slightly. "Just don't want to delay you and Ms. Thompson."

Chelsea was already six weeks pregnant. Any delay, and her growing belly would make it hard to look good in a wedding dress.

Nathaniel sneered, signed the divorce papers, and tapped the table. "You're just eager to get to Samuel. But..."

He tapped the table again. "We don't need to rush the divorce proceedings."
