Chapter 3

With a burst of anger, I forcefully kicked Chel’s bedroom door with my right foot, just like King Leonidas did when he yelled ‘This is Sparta!’ to the Persian messenger.

In an instant, the bedroom door flies open, slamming against the opposite wall with a resounding thud that echoes throughout the room.

I only take a couple of steps into her bohemian-decorated bedroom before I find myself instantly frozen at the shocking sight of the two of them fucking sideways, with her right leg raised, showing her pussy and his dick half buried in her ass in front of me. On her bed. On that very day, we marked ten years since we got married.

My earlier excitement from the song leaves my hips and shoulders completely, even though the upbeat music continues to play loudly in the background.

I remain standing in her bedroom like an out-of-place piece of furniture that doesn’t belong and doesn’t quite fit in the space, leaving you to contemplate where it could possibly be placed since you don’t want to dispose of it.

But my anger reaches a level I’ve never felt until now, and I let out a piercing scream, “LOGAN!” Their mouths dropped wide open in shock as they both abruptly turned to look at me, frozen in place. “How could you?”

I don’t know where all this intense anger came from inside me. Calmness is my usual demeanor. Conflicts make me uncomfortable, and even more so, I tend to avoid confrontation at all costs—especially against my dear husband.

But I just can’t believe this is happening. Every time Logan hurt me and left visible marks, I silently accepted it, carrying the weight of the pain... But this?

No!

He went too far! And to make things even worse, with my best friend?

Logan’s agape mouth finally reacts, “Allie! It’s not what you think!” He takes his still-hard dick out of Chel’s ass as she lowers her leg, and he kneels on the bed.

I keep looking flabbergasted at them both.

Chel grabs one of the brown sheets from her bed, wrapping it around her body, but Logan doesn’t bother to cover his sweaty skin.

He lifts both hands in a gesture of surrender, the same hands that were on Chel’s breasts a second ago. “Allie, look at me. This isn’t what you think!” he repeats his blatant lie.

I tilt my head to the side in disbelief, narrowing my eyes at him. He might just think I’m the stupidest person in the world.

My shoulders drop as my arms fall, and I realize that I’m still carefully holding Chel’s trench coat, which I made sure to wash, dry, and cover so it doesn’t fucking wrinkle.

Maybe I really am the stupidest person in the world.

“And how would you explain this, Logan? HOW?!” I yell, causing them to flinch because suddenly, at the same time, silence fills the air as the background music abruptly transitions to another song.

Logan’s frantic eyes search for an answer, “It’s because I’m drunk! Yeah! It is, Allie! Believe me!”

“And is that supposed to justify you cheating on me?” I point my free hand at Chel. “With my best friend, nonetheless?”

Chel looks at me with a smirk. My best friend doesn’t seem at all upset that I caught them together.

“I should have suspected you the first time you sat on his lap, with him later openly expressing to me his approval of our friendship!” I snarl, feeling my cheeks heat up as I glare at the two of them back and forth.

I should have seen this red flag, I mutter to myself.

Chel reaches for her phone on top of the nightstand, its design seamlessly blending with her bed decor, and then she taps the screen. Instantly, the background music abruptly ceases.

“Allie, let’s be serious! You got everything wrong here—”

I send him a chiding look. “Logan, be honest with me. Don’t lie!” I say loud with a sharp edge to my voice, interrupting him, even though the absence of music. “How long have you been cheating on me?”

“What?” My lying husband asks indignantly. “This is the first time I’ve come to Chel’s house alone!”

“Well, we used to make love in your shitty apartment,” Chel confesses with a shrug.

“CHELSEA!” Logan yells as he moves sharply closer to her, still naked.

I recognize the unmistakable look of anger in his eyes, and for a split second, I consider stepping back because my fear of what he can do almost overpowers my anger at discovering his infidelity. Still, I force myself to stay where I am.

“Allie,” Logan turns his gaze at me with an unexpectedly pleading voice. “I know I fucked Chel, but you have to understand that this is a physiological thing!” This time, it’s me who opens my mouth in disbelief. Logan goes on, gesturing with his hand. “Men have hormones that make us not think straight. It’s just instinct, you know? It’s part of our nature as a race! As a human being, Alicent!”

I stand there, paused for a moment, staring at him aghast. I’m unable to believe he actually said that. “What the hell?”

When he realizes that I’m not falling for his nonsense, he points accusingly at Chel with one open hand, and with the other one, he places it tenderly on his heart.

“Allie, none of the times I’ve been with her, whether here or at our home, have held any importance for me. It means NOTHING!” My husband says. “And there were many times! But I repeat, none of them meant anything to me, I just love YOU!”

“That’s not what you’ve been telling me, Lolo,” Chel bats her eyelashes in his direction, which makes him frown at her.

Suddenly, Chel’s trench coat feels oppressive on my left arm, as if it weighs a ton.

It was a testament to my stupidity.

And it was evident for them to see.

“I can’t believe you did this to me,” I tell Chel, my voice filled with anger and deep disappointment, as I angrily throw her pristine trench coat on the floor and stomp my foot down aggressively.

“Alicent! You’re acting like a crazy woman!” Logan screams.

“You ugly bitch!” Chel shouts at me. “Stop ruining my coat! You can’t even afford that!”

However, I only stop when I’m sure her precious coat is not just dirtied with the soil from the soles of my shoes but also completely trampled. “I don’t care! I don’t want to look at any of your faces ever again!” I scream with my hands tightened into fists, rage filling my eyes.

“Alicent! You can not be serious!” Logan says before pointing to his semi-hard dick that was seconds ago in Chel’s ass. “You don’t want to lose him, do you?” Logan raises his eyebrows twice suggestively.

Oh. My. God.

Chel is giving me an intense death stare, daring me to utter a single word that will make her lose my husband’s dick. What the actual fuck?

I look at Logan and try not to express all my hate because my body knows what he’s capable of when he’s angry. “I think I’ll survive!”

Maybe something in my voice makes Logan realize the seriousness of my words because he immediately bolts out of bed and hastily begins putting on the pants he had previously discarded on the floor, not even pausing to put on his underwear first.

I take a step back. I don’t want him near me. Just looking at the two of them together makes me so angry!

“Alicent, Alicent,” Logan tries to get my attention while still getting dressed. “I’m so sorry I cheated on you,” Ha! Finally, he says something worthwhile to hear. “Honey, I did this so you could realize that you should dress up more like Chel. I didn’t know how to tell you, but you’re kind of messy,” he dares to wave his hand toward my body while putting the other leg into his pants. “You are beautiful, but if you dress up more, use some makeup, and not wear such old clothes, you will be the most beautiful woman in the world to me, and I promise you, Allie, I will never cheat on you again!”

Fuck. That hurts!

I know I’m not even close to as stylish as Chel, but I have reasons for it. First off, I don’t have any cash to treat myself, and hardly any time either. I work my butt off every day to make sure Logan and Az have a roof over their heads and food on the table.

“I only cheated on you to help you grow up, you know? To change you into a better person. Allie, this will only bring us closer! Can’t you see it?” Logan says as he buttons his pants.

Angry tears well up in my lash line, threatening to fall. I hold myself back so they don’t come down.

I’m already ugly, as they just told me. If I cry, I know I’ll be uglier.

“Lolo, she will never be as beautiful as me! Just look at her!” It’s Chel’s turn to point at me, and suddenly, I feel aware of my raggedy black sweater, ripped pants at the knee—not for fashion grunge style but because I’ve had a hole in them from wearing them so much—and worn-out shoes. Not to mention my braided black hair with my blonde roots showing through.

With a disgusted expression and her signature foil voice, Chel continues, “She doesn’t even know how to dress properly!”

How have I not seen this side of Chel before? She looked completely different.

It’s like meeting a whole new person. I wonder how I had missed seeing this side of Chel until now.

“Not now, Chel!” Logan yells at her, wearing the new sweater that I bought for the job interview he was supposed to be doing.

I stopped making snacks for me to eat at school so I could save up and buy the white sweater for him.

Chel frowns at him, her face contorting with displeasure at the tone he uses with her. A tone I’m used to hearing that causes me to quickly lower my head.

But not anymore.

I continue shouting at him as my anger still courses through my veins. “How could you cheat on me with her, Logan?”

“Allie, I didn’t want to say this so Chel wouldn’t feel bad, but Chel begged me to fuck her! I felt so fucking sorry that she didn’t have anyone by her side. She was lonely! I was just trying to help your best friend!” Logan shakes his head while straightening his white sweater. “You’re being really insecure, honey! I don’t like it!”

I bark, my mouth curling into a sneer of hatred because of his denial, “I literally caught you red-handed, cheating on me with my best friend RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME, LOGAN!”

“I DIDN’T SEE THAT YOU WERE STANDING THERE!” My husband shouts back. “If I had known you were coming, I wouldn’t have come here to fuck her! Instead, I would have gone somewhere else with Chel!” Logan loudly exclaims before asking, “Do you think I’m dumb?”
