Chapter 7

Aldrick's silence also made Audrey not want to talk much and give hope to this man. Audrey was prepared to live alone now and no longer pinned her hopes on anyone. Hoping for others would only make her hurt and make her unhappy.

"Alfan won't be able to live here forever, Audrey, he has the nature and character of a pure Werewolf man. If he stays here it will only endanger his life and the lives of others if he gets into a fight with him," she said, making Audrey shake her head.

"I'm a pure Werewolf woman too, aren't I?" she retorted casually making Aldrick pause. "I also have the power of a mother, I'm not a stupid woman. I even know how to treat werewolves affected by curses or diseases. Then how would I fail to protect my son? I gave birth to him myself and I know his body and condition more than anyone else.

"Alfan is a smart and kind boy, I've raised him that way since he was born. Your worries are unfounded, you don't need to be afraid because of nonsense."

Aldrick was completely unable to speak, he just stayed where he was like a fool who couldn't do anything.

Audrey had never expected his love from the beginning And from the beginning this woman had also always been independent and acted casually even though she might be holding back the pain of seeing her husband cheating and betraying in front of her. But Audrey was not a weak girl, she was even willing to sacrifice her own life for the safety of the entire Clan.

Here the sinner was himself for disappointing such a good woman.

"Consider us divorced, don't do anything futile in the future because you have to live for yourself. Since you already know that Emely was never loyal and insincere to you, in the future learn how to distinguish people who are truly sincere to you so that the same thing doesn't happen." Audrey said and moved to lie down on her bed.

Aldrick could only stare and say nothing at the sight of her. He knew that it was not easy to make Audrey forgive him because she had never been a stupid and weak woman just because he didn't care.

It showed that Audrey could live without her, and if it wasn't for Emely's betrayal, she probably wouldn't be here. He used to look down on this woman and never really cared about her, which was a bad thing because he shouldn't have done that to the woman he was legally married to.

Now that Audrey did not want to return and did not want to be with him was probably a retribution for his wrongdoings over the past years.

"I'm going to rest and tomorrow I have to start life again here and work as usual. I know you haven't improved much, the clan is also still recovering from the war. Alfan doesn't lack the role of a father because I can replace all your roles for him. It's best that you return to your place because here you may need to adapt for longer as you also lack the ability to maintain control of yourself. The longer you stay here while you have not recovered then it will only make your body weaker and you may lose all your strength."

Aldrick stared at her with a look of disbelief because he had not even told Audrey about the curse he had received. Yet this woman already knew and understood the predicament he was in.

"Do you know how to make my body return to normal like before?"

Audrey opened her eyes and stared at Aldrick for a moment. She shook her head and made Aldrick swallow.

"I don't know because I didn't check on you and I wasn't there when you got something like this. I know that we are werewolves with hearts and feelings. Even though you and I are spiritually bound as soul mates but you still have feelings and you love other people it is natural. The wolf world is also not as strict as it used to be to follow whatever fate says and decides. Moreover, you have great ability as a leader so you have the nature to want to disobey and I understand about that.

"I can tell you that I don't blame you for what happened and for my decision to leave. We can forget about each other, we can refocus on our own hopes and desires. Alpha, you have the chance to get what you want and change the destiny you don't like.

As a partner who has been in a relationship with you, I know that you naturally dislike me because we never met intensely before. You recognized other women early and I don't think that's wrong.

"Go home, heal yourself and let your strength increase. You can take whatever you want with your current life. Don't trouble yourself by coming and chasing after me whom you don't love," Audrey said with a calm gaze that made Aldrick unable to say anything.

He had nothing left to do but think about what he had come here for? Was it because he felt lost? Was it to feel disturbed because he couldn't find Audrey's whereabouts? Or was it just because he was betrayed by Emely?

If not, did she really come here? Aldrick himself was sure that if he had not been betrayed by Emely, he would still be in his clan now and not care about this woman's life and death.

"Go home, you can come again when you understand your feelings and desires."

Aldrick sighed softly then took out a small box and placed it on the nightstand.

"It contains your gold and jewelry while you were there. I also brought all the gold coins you can use to survive here in case you have trouble finding money. I will go home now and understand exactly what I want. I know you might not believe me if I say that I did it because I lost you because I never felt love for you in the first place. I'll think carefully about what I really want, so don't hate me if I don't come back. Then... Try to forgive me when I come because that means I want you."

Audrey didn't make a sound, she just stared at the man's face that looked unconfident for the first time. Audrey had always seen him as a man who was tough and prepared. He had never been this down before and it made Audrey not want him to leave here or he would be weak and she could not bear to see him.

"Be careful living here, you are still my wife after all, I have never legally divorced you."
