Chapter 5 Temptation from the Tip of the Tongue

Mila, a cat orc, had gone without food for three days.

She knew what fate awaited her in the dungeon from the first day when she was caught: either death or the cruel whims of humans. Today, her misery is around the corner.

She was brimmed with resentment. She shouldn't have trusted those deceitful humans who offered her food. She, a proud warrior of the cat orcish, had been captured by humans. But she had already been weakened by two days of hunger without the strength to fight against.

She was sold for a mere silver coin to a despicable noble and thrown into this foul-smelling damp.

Today, on the third day, she heard human voices again.

Mila struggled to stand, moving slowly as if she would fall at any time. But she managed to rise with great effort; she made her way to the front of the human.

A man was standing in front of her, holding a bright tool. Mila widened her eyes and raised her head, refusing to bow to humans.

The human was handsome and young, exuding a fresh scent, unlike the others.

Three days ago, she could have easily defeated ten of them, but now, even standing was a challenge. The human in her eyes seemed to increase, becoming two, no, four...

Henry's mouth twitched as he looked at the cat orc who had fainted in the dungeon. He sighed, broke the ancient lock once more, and decided to bring some locks next time.

Approaching the catgirl, he found her still alive. He took out a bottle of water from his space and gave her a little to drink before carrying her out of the dungeon...

...

Mila could only feel warm now. It was so much better than the cold dungeon, like being in her mother's embrace.

Mila's eyes suddenly opened. She found herself in a strange room, lying in bed, covered with a soft blanket. It was warm, but...

Mila suddenly moved away from the blanket and looked around. It was still the same clothes as before. She breathed a sigh of relief.

The sound of the door opening made Mila instantly alert.

Henry entered with a plate of porridge, looking at the cat orc with a smile. "Awake?"

Mila nodded seriously, her tense face and trembling ears betraying her nervousness.

Raising his eyebrow, Henry didn't expect her to respond to him, which made Henry unexpected.

"Come and eat. You must be hungry," Henry said, placing the porridge on the table.

"I..." Mila was about to refuse, but she really felt hungry.

This moment made Mila blush. In her mind, she shouted, 'A great warrior of the cat or will not accept human charity.'

And the hypocritical humans would surely drug the food. Even though there was no disgusting smell on this person, he would surely use deceit.

"Not eating?" Henry looked at the catgirl strangely, shrugged, picked up a bowl, and started eating the delicious porridge, which emitted a pure fragrance of rice.

"No..."

Her stomach growled again, making Mila's face even redder, and her erect cat ears drooped.

"Really, not eating?" Henry scooped up a spoonful of white porridge into his mouth, his eyes twinkling with a smile, and the catgirl became shy.

"No..."

Her hungry stomach growled again, and Mila's mouth drooled, fixing her eyes on the porridge in Henry's bowl.

Henry shook his head, stood up with the porridge, and came to the catgirl, handing her the porridge, saying, "In this life, you can have nothing, but you can't not eat."

Her stomach growled again, and before Mila could refuse, a spoonful of white porridge was stuffed into her mouth, making her eyes widen, her pale blue eyes trembling.

She could taste the fine rice porridge, and she had forgotten how many years it had been since she had eaten such well-cooked rice porridge, and she had actually found it here...

Henry looked at the dumbfounded catgirl, smiled silently, and left without a word.

When Mila came back to her senses, she looked around but couldn't see the handsome human. She swallowed her saliva and ate the white porridge in the big bowl.

"It's so delicious..."

Mila kept spooning the porridge into her mouth, her pale blue eyes misting, the sensation on her tongue, the pure fragrance of rice in her mouth, making her immersed in it.

She remembered that this polished rice porridge was something that only the great nobles of the human could afford, and she had only eaten it once in an accident, and she instantly fell in love with it.

In just a few moments, Mila finished the bowl of porridge. She turned to stare at the porridge on the table, secretly looking at the door. Then, at the empty bowl in her hand, her heart suddenly struggled.

Mila thought to herself, 'Anyway, I've eaten a bowl. Why not eat another bowl? No, this bowl is fine; it doesn't mean the next one is fine; have you forgotten how humans tricked you?'

Mila now feels that there is an angel and a demon in her mind arguing about whether to eat another bowl of porridge.

"If he wants to harm Mila, he would have done it long ago..."

In the end, the demon Mila won...
