Chapter 6 You Want to Let Me Go?

When Henry returned to the room with a few things, he found the catgirl sitting on the chair, holding her belly, clearly having overeaten.

Having lived in this world for a month, Henry was well aware of its poverty, especially among the common people.

Only the nobles could afford polished rice, which had to be transported from the east. In the western lands, wheat was the only staple food available.

Given this, Henry wasn't surprised by the catgirl's reaction. It wasn't the first time he had seen such a situation.

As Henry entered, Mila, the catgirl, stood up abruptly, showing a defensive posture, just like a startled kitten.

She looked around to find ways to escape, but there was no one else, only this handsome man.

'Should I kidnap him to escape?' The thought crossed Mila's mind, but she immediately dismissed this impractical idea.

"What's your name?" Henry asked, genuinely curious about the catgirl's cat ears and the tail swaying behind her.

Apart from these distinctive features, catgirls were no different from human girls.

"Mila!" Mila yelled out her name, all for that bowl of polished rice porridge.

"It's a beautiful name. Why did you stay in the dungeon?" Henry asked with a light chuckle.

Mila was taken aback. Wasn't it the nobles who had imprisoned her? She blinked, looking at Henry with confusion.

Seeing Mila's puzzled expression, Henry explained, "The nobles here are gone. I bought this land, so now I'm the noble here."

Mila realized the situation. That was why he had let her out and given her the polished rice porridge. She remembered the despicable old man who had said he would starve her for a few days, then train her and sell her to the nobles in the big city.

Mila lowered her guard, but she still kept her distance from Henry. Once deceived by humans, she was afraid of being deceived again.

She didn't want to go back to that damp dungeon. If this handsome noble had some bad intentions, she would definitely fight against them.

"Can you tell me what happened?" Henry tried to keep his voice gentle.

Mila nodded and began to recount the events.

It was a familiar story: a girl who had been deceived and, in her hunger, encountered a greedy human. In her dazed and hungry state, Mila believed that the person would give her food, and then she was drugged by that man.

Afterward, Mila was sold to Carter. Henry could guess what happened next. If he hadn't bought the land and become the noble here, Mila would have been in the torture of the aristocrats.

Mila finished her story, still filled with anger. She said that if she hadn't been so hungry and desperate, she would never have trusted humans.

When people are desperate and have no other options, they will do anything to survive, even if it means taking food that is laced with malice.

"Alright, you're safe now," Henry said with a gentle smile. "You should go take a bath."

"A bath?" Mila's cat ears twitched, and she wrinkled her nose, instantly catching a whiff of her scent.

The smell on her body made her blush with embarrassment.

"Here, I couldn't find any girl's clothes, so you can wear mine for now. And this is soap. Wetting it and using it to clean yourself," Henry said as he put down the clothes and soap, then left, leaving Mila standing there in a daze.

"Is he... a good person?"

Mila furrowed her brow, remembering what her good friend Ellie had said: there are good people among humans, although there aren't many in the nobility.

"I hope Ellie has left. It's getting more and more dangerous here," Mila sighed as she picked up something from the table.

In the bathroom, Mila took a shower and found the soap to be amazing, which surprised her.

"Is this the life of the nobility? The fragrance that the handsome noble exudes seems to be this kind of scent."

Mila tilted her head and thought for a moment, then shook her head. "No, the other nobles also have a foul smell, but only this handsome noble has this fragrance."

She had secretly observed many nobles, and each of them had a different, faint smell, which her sensitive nose could detect from a distance.

Now, she was becoming more and more curious about Henry, murmuring, "This handsome noble is very different from other humans."

After Mila finished her shower and put on Henry's clothes, she felt a little awkward. "These clothes are so strange," she said.

Henry, upon seeing her, was completely taken aback. He had handed her a shirt to wear and the hem of the shirt just to cover Mila's pert buttocks, leading to endless imagination.

With her wet, long hair, light blue eyes, slightly flushed cheeks, and her hands holding the hem of the shirt, the sight of the catgirl's awkwardness was something that could only be seen in the world of anime, and it was now happening right in front of Henry.

Henry cleared his throat, looking at her with a smile, "You can leave after your clothes are dry."

"What?" Mila's eyes widened, and her light blue eyes looked at Henry in disbelief as she exclaimed, "Are you letting me go?"
