The Nobles Vs The Commoners

Soledad and Rachel entered the classroom. At first nothing happened until two boys blocking them right near the table.

"Stop, you can't sit here!" Said one of the fat boys with ginger hair. He stretched out his arms to block Soledad.

"What do you mean? That's my study table, get out of my way!" Said Soledad, she glared sharply showing that she was not afraid.

"You commoners, you shouldn't sit here. You should move to the back."

"What did you say? Where do those rules come from? I don't want to!"

"Then, we will block you from sitting down!" Two boys joined him, they also spread their hands.

Rachel, who looked scared, tried to give in and let them take her and Soledad's seats, but of course Soledad didn't think like that. Soledad's temperament, it's not impossible for her to fight, beat up the boys.

"Get out of my way...!" She shouted. She puffed out her chest and got ready to beat up the three noble boys.

"You think we're afraid of you, you ugly girl!"

"You are ugly pigs...!" Soledad shouted as she threw her fist at the fat boy's face.

With just one hit, the child immediately fell on his back. His two friends and other children in the class were immediately shocked.

"Take this! Smell the shoes of these poor commoners! This is what you like, right?" She said while stomping on the boy's head with her shoe.

The helpless boy could only cry, while his friends who had helped him were silent and didn't move.

"Soledad, stop it! Miss Anne will come and scold you!" Rachel asked, several other girls also tried to stop Soledad.

"Soledad, stop it...!" They said. The stubborn Soledad is not that easy to stop, she is fed up with being treated unfairly.

"How about this? We have to call Miss Anne now," before they could be called, their teacher had entered this very chaotic class.

The woman was shocked to see what happened in her class. Soledad fights with boys, even though this happens often, it still can't be tolerated.

"Oh my god, what's going on here?" The woman asked hysterically.

"Miss Anne, Soledad is fighting again." Wendy exclaimed.

"Soledad, stop...!" Shouted Miss Anne. Hearing her teacher's screams, Soledad immediately stopped stepping on the boy.

Miss Anne stepped forward, approaching the person behind the commotion. Carrying a long wooden ruler, she hit the ruler on the table.

All the students who had been noisy, suddenly fell silent and were shocked.

"Soledad, Edward, you two come with me to the principal in his office!" Miss Anne looked at her two students sharply. Even though she wasn't actually the type of teacher who was strict, in a situation like this, she couldn't help but have to be firm.

Soledad and Edward are forced to follow Miss Anne to the principal. Edward felt scared, he wasn't used to getting into trouble, unlike Soledad. This girl remained calm as if she didn't care what punishment would befall her. Miss Anne knocked on the principal's door.

"Please come in!" Shouted a middle-aged man from inside the room.

"Good morning, Mr Norman?" Said Miss Anne, looking down, she took the hands of her two troubled students.

"Good morning, Miss Anne? How may I help you?" Asked the principal, Mr Norman Weitzman.

"Soledad and Edward were fighting in class, so I brought them here."

"Really? Soledad is fighting again?" Asked Mr Norman while adjusting his glasses.

Soledad didn't answer, instead she turned her head. She really didn't care about all the questions and accusations that would come her way today.

"Edward, why are you fighting with Soledad?"

"Soledad hit me first,"

"Why did Soledad hit you? You must have done something to make her angry!" Hearing the principal's words, Edward fell silent. He admitted that he was the one who started the fight first.

"Mr Norman, may I go to class first? I have something to do." Miss Anne asked.

"Okay, please. Take Edward with you, Miss Anne. But treat the wound on his head first. Leave Soledad here, there's something I want to talk to her about."

"Sure, come on Edward!" Miss Anne went and took Edward back to class leaving Soledad with Mr. Norman.

For several seconds the large room was plunged into silence. Soledad didn't want to talk at all, in her eyes, there was enormous hatred.

"What's wrong Soledad? What makes you hate this school so much?"

"Nothing," she answered in a cold tone, this child seemed to have had her fill of punishment.

"It doesn't matter if you hate being here, but I know you are a smart girl. So, don't waste everything you have just because your heart is filled with hatred."

"I don't have anything, I'm just a poor, destitute, dirty, smelly and rude commoner. I've heard that often."

"Who said that?"

"They all said it,"

"That's why you hit them?"

"Yes," she answered quietly.

"You responded to them by hitting them, are you satisfied?"

"My father once said, if you want to achieve something you have to sacrifice something. So, to shut their mouths, I had to hit them to keep them quiet."

Mr. Norman was silent, apparently it was really difficult to understand this child's thoughts. Children from ordinary people at her age usually don't think about complicated things, about hatred or vengeance.

Children tend to be innocent, seeing other children whose lives are happy, they definitely want to be like that too. However, Soledad is different, she doesn't want to live like other people, what she wants is that these people feel the same suffering as her and children from other lower class groups who are treated unfairly.

"Soledad, is there something you want that you can't get? If there is, tell me, I'll work it out for you as long as you promise not to fight again."

"I don't want anything,"

"Is it true?"

"I just want all the nobles gone!" She answered loudly. The most brave and reckless words ever uttered by a 12 year old girl.

Mr. Norman didn't know what to say at this time, it seemed like any advice would be difficult for her to accept.

"Okay, you can go back to your class." He said with a sigh. Soledad immediately moved from her place in silence.

She walked with doubts, there were many questions running through her head. One of the questions is, "Why are they treated differently? Even though they are both human beings, what makes them different? Is it skin color? Is it background? And are such differences important so that they have to feel this injustice and discrimination.

Soledad stopped in front of her class, her legs turned stiff, she felt reluctant to enter. At times like this, it is most fun to climb a tree or lie on the grass by the river, while listening to the birds chirping. But, wait a minute.

Bird? That's right, she almost forgot. Currently, thousands of birds from who knows where they come from are roosting in the big houses of nobles and rich people and also in tall trees before they finally fly away to who knows where.

She really wanted to catch one of these birds to keep at home and this opportunity only happened once a year.

Remembering that, Soledad became excited again. She entered her class without saying hello or even excusing to Miss Anne, who was definitely teaching in class.

"Today we have a new friend who just came from Vistania City. Please, introduce your name!"

"Good morning, my name is Nicholas Ferdinand Walter, I was born in Vistania on November 12 1899, nice to meet you."

"But I'm not happy to meet you," said Soledad in a loud voice, the whole class immediately looked at her in disbelief at what she had just said.

"Hah...?" All her classmates stared in disbelief, including Miss Anne.

"S-Soledad, why are you talking like that? Oh my God, this girl. Nicholas, please forgive her, okay? You can sit in that empty chair!" Said Miss Anne, who was still shocked to hear Soledad's very rude words.

"Okay Miss Anne, thank you." He said, holding back his annoyance, he walked while continuing to look at the annoying girl who had been making him feel bad since yesterday and what was worse, he had to sit right behind her.

"Listen, I will reply to all your nonsence!" His words seemed to signal war.

Soledad who heard it just smiled sarcastically, threats like that were too common for her.

"I'm not afraid, you stupid pig!"
