Chapter 7 Thank You, Honey

As soon as Lucia finished speaking, there was a burst of cheering in the room.

Regina, the newcomer, was young and beautiful, and everyone was eager to see her performance. Some men with malicious intentions were already eyeing her.

Marshall from the marketing department had also made his way into the private room, his eyes filled with disdain as he looked at Regina. He thought, 'She arrogantly rejected me. Tonight, I'll see how much more arrogant she can be.'

Regina frowned, instinctively wanting to take the card from Lucia's hand to confirm, but Lucia quickly mixed it with the others. Lucia was deliberately making things difficult for Regina. She thought, 'Regina enjoys dating different men. Just because she's beautiful, she likes being with many men at the same time. So, I'll expose her promiscuous image in front of all these colleagues tonight.'

Regina instantly became the center of attention. All eyes were on her, filled with various emotions.

Miranda, who was beside her, felt that something was off and was deeply worried. She knew that if Regina got angry or left now, she would be mocked for not being able to handle the game. No one would think the task was too much. After all, they were playing a game.

Regina's emotions remained stable. She glanced at the bottles on the table and said, "Didn't you say that if someone fails the task, they have to drink three bottles of wine?"

Drink three bottles of wine? "No, Regina," Miranda was genuinely worried about her. Her voice was so nervous that it changed pitch. "This wine is really hard. You get dizzy after just one glass. If you drink three bottles, you'll end up in the hospital!"

Lucia advised, "Regina, you can't handle alcohol well. Don't try to drink so much. Besides, you haven't even tried it, so why do you think you'll fail the task?"

"I'm willing to help you!" Amidst the noise, a male voice suddenly spoke up.

No one knew whose voice it was, but it definitely represented the thoughts of some men present. Regina didn't want to waste time. She picked up a bottle from the table, opened it, and poured it directly into her mouth.

Everyone was stunned, watching her in disbelief. Regina had no other thoughts at the moment. After drinking half a bottle, she took a breath. She was still somewhat sober, so she whispered something to Miranda, probably asking her to take her home later.

Just as Regina was about to continue drinking, someone pushed open the tightly closed door of the private room from the outside. Everyone turned to look at the door, except for Regina, who was already drunk, facing away from the door, tilting her head back and pouring more wine into her mouth.

Douglas gazed at her back deeply. Her coat had somehow slipped off, and she was now only wearing a white shirt and a fishtail skirt. Her figure was well-proportioned, but she seemed a bit fragile at the moment. Regina exuded a stubbornness and aloofness that Douglas could see through at a glance. Just as Regina reached for the second bottle of wine, a hand reached out from behind her and grabbed her wrist, the force causing her to wince.

She stiffened, looking at the hand that held her. It was large and strong. Because of the slight force, the veins on the back of the hand stood out. Regina followed that hand, her gaze moving up slowly.

In her somewhat blurry vision, she vaguely saw Douglas. She thought, 'He is... Wait a minute. He seems like...my husband, the one I married a month ago but haven't met.' Regina's heart raced, and she felt like she couldn't breathe. She blinked her mind in a whirl. In that moment of confusion, she seemed to think of something and directly asked, "Can I ask you for a favor?"

Douglas narrowed his eyes slightly and asked, "What do you want me to do?"

Her words became somewhat incoherent. "I... I want your belt."

The people in the private room were all shocked. They all thought, 'Regina, do you know what you are doing? Do you know you're asking for trouble?'

Miranda was the first to react, wanting to rush up and stop Regina from doing something like this. But before she could act, she saw Douglas smile. There was a hint of indulgence in his smile. He looked down at the blushing Regina in front of him and casually said, "Take it."

So, Regina put down the bottle, bowed her head, and awkwardly tried to undo Douglas's belt.

As she became more flustered and anxious, Douglas's warm and gentle hand held hers, guiding her delicately to unfasten the belt. He then removed the belt from his waist. Holding the black belt, Regina felt her palm burning. She dared not look at Douglas's face again, keeping her head down, staring at his well-pressed black suit pants and shiny leather shoes.

Miranda held her breath and bravely approached, saying cautiously, "I'm sorry, Mr. Semona, we were playing Truth or Dare. Regina didn't mean to offend you."

With Regina remaining motionless, Miranda concluded her apology and reached to gently tug at Regina's wrist. "Regina, you really should express your gratitude to Mr. Semona," she urged softly. In Regina's alcohol-induced haze, Miranda's words seemed to drift by like a whisper in the breeze.

At that moment, Regina didn't know why she had been staring at Douglas's refined and attractive face so intently and earnestly. "Thank you, Honey."

"What?" Miranda was very confused.

Regina repeated loud enough for everyone present to hear. "Thank you, Honey."

The private room had been quiet ever since Douglas walked in. Now, after Regina's words, everyone felt as if the air had frozen.

"Regina!" Janet could no longer tolerate Regina's nonsense and reprimanded her seriously, "You're drunk! This is the newly appointed CEO. What are you talking about?"

Regina was stunned. She thought, 'CEO? My new husband is the newly appointed CEO?' Regina's mind was even more chaotic now. She was still frozen in place, wanting to escape from here.

Douglas laughed indifferently and said, "It's just a game. It's okay."

Regina snapped back to reality. She raised a hand and pressed her throbbing temple, steadying her voice, "I'm sorry, Mr. Semona, I just got drunk."
