Chapter 9 Don't Believe Her

"Joyce swiftly dodged to the side, but a portion of the hot coffee still splashed onto her feet.

It was so painful that she involuntarily gasped for air.

Just as Joyce was about to confront Isabella, she looked up and saw Isabella hurling herself towards the glass cabinet behind her.

Instinctively, Joyce reached out and tried to pull her back, but Isabella broke free from Joyce's grasp.

There was a shattering sound as Isabella's arm collided with the glass. Blood started to flow from her hand.

At that moment, Sebastian's cold voice came from behind them.

"Joyce, what are you doing?"

Sebastian's tall figure quickly reached Isabella's side. His deep eyes grew darker.

"What happened to you?"

Tears streamed down Isabella's pale face, and her mouth trembled.

"Sebastian, it's all my fault. I accidentally spilled coffee on Secretary Blackwood, and she misunderstood, so she pushed me. Please don't blame her, okay?"

Upon hearing these words, Joyce's eyes widened in disbelief.

She never expected Isabella to resort to such a scheme to frame her.

Joyce immediately explained, "I didn't push her, she fell on her own."

Sebastian's cold gaze quickly scanned Joyce, pausing for a moment on the burn mark on her foot. Then, he left, saying in a cold voice, "I'll deal with you when I come back!"

With that, he hurriedly walked out with Isabella.

Joyce watched their retreating figures, a look of indescribable pain on her face.

This was the man she had loved for seven years. He never chose to believe her over Isabella.

Joyce quickly composed herself. She would not let Isabella's scheme succeed.

Even though she had already broken up with Sebastian, and she didn't care about his attitude towards her anymore, she couldn't tolerate this framing and scheming.

If it happened once, it would happen again.

Joyce immediately found her colleague Elizabeth and asked her to seek help from her boyfriend in the technical department to make a copy of the video that had just been recorded. She needed to prove her innocence.

After handling everything, Joyce quickly distanced herself from the incident. She immersed herself in her busy work.

Sebastian and Dominic were both absent, and the senior management was already waiting in the conference room. She had to chair the morning meeting.

Joyce systematically recorded the reports from each department. She also brought up some challenging projects for discussion this week.

Sebastian was not in the meeting room, which lightened the atmosphere. Everyone praised Joyce for her competence and even joked about her and Sebastian working so well together, wondering if she could become their boss.

Faced with everyone's compliments, Joyce smiled faintly.

"We only have a working relationship, so please don't speculate. Besides, I'm about to..."

...resign.

Before she could finish her sentence, the meeting room door was kicked open.

Sebastian stood at the doorway in a black suit, exuding a cold and sinister aura, like a demon emerging from hell.

His deep, dark eyes coldly fixed on Joyce. The previously peaceful and relaxed atmosphere in the meeting room suddenly turned tense and suffocating.

Everyone stood up in unison and shouted, "President Winters!"

Sebastian didn't respond. He walked towards Joyce with long strides. His icy hand tightly gripped Joyce's wrist, his voice chillingly terrifying.

"Come with me!"

Sebastian dragged Joyce out of the meeting room.

As she lowered her gaze, she noticed several obvious burns on her fair and smooth instep.

He said in a displeased tone, "You're so foolish!"

With that, he bent down and embraced Joyce in his arms."
