Chapter 3

Phoebe's Pov

There were very few things that could harm a werewolf fatally, regardless of their strength and rank.

Silver, negates us werewolves thick defense and slows down regeneration for wounds inflicted with silver weapons.

Mountain Ash burns any weak willed werewolf that comes in contact with it.

The most feared item that serves as a werewolve's ultimate kryptonite was Wolf's bane.

"But the wolf's bane flower plant was said to have gone extinct."

"It has," Father replied me. "I personally burnt down the last of the plants. To think that a man like him had some..."

"That's right." Dominic shows them a case. He opens it revealing a purple colored dust.

"With this, there's no wolf that can stand against me. Forget digesting or inhaling, a single contact with this is enough to kill a beta in seconds."

This was it for us. Who knows how many more of these he has? No one will be able to stand against him.

"Father, what do we do?"

"My Suginite, I thank you for gracing us by being our daughter."

"Father..." My body was numb as father walks up to Dominic. It was a stare off between two goliaths.

"Dominic, I, Lycan King Grunade surrender to you." Hearing my father speak those words dealt the final blow to me. My legs caved in and I plopped to my knees.

Mother then joins father by his side. "You win. You can claim this castle, call off the attack."

Dominic gave Reynold a nod and he howls signalling for their pack to end the battle.

Dominic smiled. "See, I knew you'd see reason with me. Don't worry, I'm not a dishonorable man, I will grant you three wishes before I send you to the moon goddess."

"Father..." My once confident voice barely escaped my lips. My teary eyes were about to burst into tears when father bowed and knelt in front of him. I wasn't used to this type of hopelessness.

"Thankyou for your kindness. My first request is for you to promise to keep my surviving subjects as your pack members."

"That's fair enough, next."

"I urge you to guarantee the life of my daughter, let her live. Keep her safe. Take her as your Luna."

"Father!"

"It is the only way, my love. You don’t deserve to die at such a young age."

"I'd rather die than be mated to this, this monster."

"Phee!" My mother's voice rendered me mute. This was the first time she has ever raised her voice at me. "I beg you, do not let our sacrifice be in vein. You are the future of the Silver Night Pack."

"Lycan Ki- no. Alpha Grunade, you have my blood oath as your successor and the Alpha of the Black Fur Pack and the now, the Silver Night pack. Your daughter's life will be preserved. I accept her as my Luna."

The last words he uttered sent a shock through my head. It was the most painful thing I've ever experienced. I started seeing flashes of memories that weren't mine.

I cried out in pain clutching my head.

"Suginite!"

"Phee!"

Reynold himself looked worried.

Just as my parents were about to rush to me, Dominic ordered, "Don't move. You two are already dead."

They watched as I cried and howl in agony. "Mommy, daddy, make it stop." The images wouldn't stop. The pain intensifies with every new memory, at first they were blurry but the images were getting clearer as the pain increased.

"Now, what's the third wish?" Dominic addressed my father.

"I want you to go to hell when you meet your untimely demise."

"Hah! Hell? Been there, done that. Without further ado, I pronounce the two of you, Corpse and Corpse,"

Reynold declared wearing the most sadistic look ever. His tone was laced with a unnerving sense of humor.

The atmosphere became heavy as the words echoed, marking the ominous beginning of a ritual that promised to defy the boundaries between the living and the afterlife.

Dominic exchanges looks with Reynold as the right hand man responded with a nod, he already knows what to do.

Reynold pulls out a glove and hands it to Dominic

With precision, it was used to pinch the Wolf's Bane as a means of executing his prey.

"You may rest in peace," A swift motion followed, as he blew the collected dust towards my parents.

The particles danced in the air with a spectral haze that carried nothing but despair.

What ensued would forever be etched in the canvas of my memory. Time seemed to slow as I witnessed my parents left at the mercy of the mythical poison.

Their once-vibrant skins metamorphosed into a haunting shade of purple, a grotesque tableau of the encroaching doom.

Crackles echoed through the air as their forms began to disintegrate, a spectacle that marked the horrifying consequences of crossing paths with the deadly Wolf's Bane.

Just watching them like that, It was evident; The pain I was currently experiencing was a tickle compared to what they were going through.

Yet, despite all of that, they did not allow me to see them cry in agony. They howled in unison. It was the most beautiful yet painful howl that I've ever heard.

"Take care of yourself my beautiful baby girl." Mother collapsed after saying her final words.

She lasted less than a minute before losing her life to the wolf's bane.

"Mom..." The tears that gushed down from my eyes was like a waterfall. The pain in my head started dissappearing slowly.

"My Suginite, look alive, eat well, and try your best to find happiness. Remember, we will always be with you. You just have to look within." Father suffered the longest before succumbing to the wolf's bane.

"A new record." Dominic had his eyes glued to his wrist watch.

"12 minutes, 34 seconds, nobody not even other Alphas have survived longer than half the amount.

It was over... My 18 years of living in a fairy tail style manner ended just like that. All it took was some purple colored dust.

Now, I will have to face reality.
