♥ Chapter 6♥

18:10 '' Snack bar. '' Portevecchio.

Isabella Conti.

'' Thank God the boss closes early every Friday. I couldn't stand it. "Said Tom, as we were organizing things.

''You never complained; you're complaining now, because you're going to meet your goddess. ''Sophia said in a teasing tone.

"I'm really looking forward to it. "He looked at me. ''Do you think she'll give me a chance?

I just sighed; my energy was depleted after seeing so many clients today.

''Don't talk to me; I'm exhausted. ''I went back to sweeping the floor.

'' I forgot you looked like this. But just nod, will she give me a chance?" he asked anxiously.

''I don't know; leave me alone. You asked when we went to that damn nightclub. "I finished sweeping the floor.

I took the things to the cupboard where the cleaning products are kept. As I've finished my part, I can leave now. I go to the staff room, open my locker and start taking off my uniform and putting on my clothes. I'm too exhausted; I still have to go to this nightclub, my God. Furthermore, I just wanted to get home and sleep, that's all.

I close the closet door after getting everything and leave the staff room, meeting the two of them.

'' I'm going; shall I meet you there? '' I asked, already tired at the thought of going to that nightclub.

''Of course. Text me when you're on your way. ''Tom asked excitedly. ''I can't wait to talk to that goddess. ''I rolled my eyes.

'' Yes, I will. '' I said goodbye to them and left the establishment.

I look for my cell phone in my bag and see a message from Gabi, saying she's on her way. I sigh. Likewise, I'm so tired that my head hurts a bit from socializing too much. Smiling at customers and always trying to be nice-it's so tiring. I'm lucky to have those two as colleagues and friends, because the other employees don't like me very much. I've never understood why, but nobody has to like me, so I try not to worry. Furthermore, I'm lucky to have them with me, because if I didn't, I'd be freaking out because I didn't have anyone to help me.

Even though they're my friends, I've never told them about my past relationships. It's dead to me. I've put it in my head that I never had a relationship. I don't want to remember those bastards anymore.

Likewise, I'm startled by a car horn, and my heart leaps out of my mouth.

'' What a fright! ''I put my hand on my heart.

''Sorry, love. Get in. '' I turn the car around and get in, pulling on my seatbelt. '' How was work?

'' Tiring. I just want to be quiet. '' She laughs.

'' It's okay; you deserve it, since you're doing my taste today. '' I smile.

''Thank you. '' I laid my head on the glass and just watched the scenery.

18:30 '' Apartment. '' Portevecchio.

She pulled into the building's garage, and we got out without exchanging many words. I thanked her silently as we made our way to the elevator. Luckily, it was stationary, so as soon as she pressed the button, the doors opened. We got in, and she selected the button for our floor while I leaned my back against the iron wall.

The doors opened again and we walked down to our apartment. She unlocked the door and we went inside.

''I'm going to take a long shower,'' I said, throwing my bag on the sofa.

"Don't you want something to eat first? I know you always get headaches. Have some coffee and get some rest. We're not leaving until around nine o'clock. '' She suggested.

"Good idea; I really need a coffee. "I agreed.

I go into the kitchen and start preparing my coffee and some toast. I'm pretty

tired, but a coffee is always good to relax my body. As soon as everything is ready, I sit down and start eating, feeling my energy return little by little, especially when I take a sip of coffee.

"Ah, this is life," I mutter, feeling the headache subside.

As soon as I finish eating, I start to organize the dishes and wash them. Then I go to my room.

I turn on the shower and let myself be enveloped by the torrent of hot water. It's as if each drop falls like a blessing on my exhausted skin, dissolving the tensions of the day. I watch mesmerized as the water swirls and disappears down the drain, taking with it not only dirt, but also the worries and frustrations of the day.

I lather my body with slow, deliberate movements, massaging each tired muscle. The creamy foam seems to caress my skin, as if it wanted to comfort and welcome me - quite cliché to say, but that's how I feel. I take care not to get my hair wet, which is already perfectly tidy.

As the water continues to fall, I close my eyes and allow myself to relax completely. Right now, there are no deadlines to meet, no demanding clients or responsibilities to fulfill. There is just me, my body and the invigorating sensation of the water against my skin.

Finally, after a time that seems like an eternity and, at the same time, a fleeting instant, I turn off the shower and step out of the box feeling refreshed and ready to face this nightclub.

I look at my reflection in the mirror, noticing that I look tired, but not as bad as I thought. I start brushing my teeth, trying to get rid of the taste of coffee, but I also enjoy the feeling of cleanliness in my mouth. Maybe it sounds strange, but it's comforting.

I leave the bathroom and look at the clock on the wall, surprised to realize that it's already eight o'clock.

"What do you mean? My God, the hours are flying by! "I exclaim, running towards my closet, trying to choose something more comfortable.

I opt for a black dress above my knees, a little transparent at the top, the only one I have. I also chose a dark bra and pants. Over the dress, I chose a blue denim jacket, and to put it on, I chose black boots.

I start to get ready, trying not to take too long, because even though Gabi says we're leaving at nine o'clock, she always leaves early. I finish getting ready and go to my desk to apply a little makeup, using only concealer, a little foundation and a touch of lipstick. Just enough.

'' Honey, are you ready? '' She asks, just as I had predicted.

''I've just finished.'' I reply, turning to look at her. ''Wow, you look beautiful, Gabi.

'' Did you think so? '' She turns around.

She's wearing a gold dress full of sparkles, very short, reaching her thigh, with a V-neck in the middle of her breasts.

"Of course I did; you look wonderful. "I smile.

'' Just me? You look like a goddess, my love. You'll have to dance, you know. "I snort.

''Don't start. I'm already going to this club, I'm not going to dance. '' She gives me that look that's going to make me do it.

''All right, shall we get going? It's already eighty-five. I'm really looking forward to it. ''I agree.

'' Let me just tell my friends that we're going. '' She agrees.

''Your bag is in the living room. '' She says when she sees that I'm looking for my bag.

'' Oh, I'd forgotten.

We go into the living room. I grab my bag and take out my cell phone, sending a quick message to Tom and Sophia, telling them we're leaving.

'' Ready, let's go? '' She agrees.

I hand her my cell phone and wallet, since she's the only one with a purse. I haven't bought one for myself yet. We soon leave the apartment and head for the elevator.

'' I want to dance until my feet can't stand it. '' I said excitedly.

'' Mine are already hurting. '' She looks at me seriously, making me smile. '' I'll be quiet.

The doors opened, and we went in, and I just sighed, already feeling tired. There are times when I find it quite boring to be introverted, but unfortunately, I am like that, and it got worse after that betrayal. I feel like a dark cloud is hanging over me, obscuring every social moment and every interaction. It's as if distrust and disappointment have become my constant companions, accompanying me wherever I go.

Enough, Isabella; stop remembering those people. I repeat it mentally like a mantra, trying to drive away the dark thoughts that insist on haunting me. I take a deep breath, trying to find some inner peace.

''Are your friends going to meet us there?'' Gabi asked as soon as we got into the car.

'' Yes. '' I let out a small yawn, trying to disguise the exhaustion that was consuming me.

She set off in the direction of the nightclub, and as the car sped through the city's illuminated streets, I sank a little deeper into the seat, feeling somewhat distant and lost in my own thoughts.
