Chapter3:
It was very late when I reached back to the hotel, where we were staying. It is one of the finest hotels in Seattle and the suite that we were staying in, was located on the topmost floor, so we had a good view of the city.
My brother was so furious that I ran off from the office without informing him. Scarlett was with me, so I gestured for her to explain and ran off to my room as I knew I would be lectured again. But he was still shouting behind me.
My brother is four years older than me and is very possessive about me, mainly because I cannot speak. I had that problem since I was a child. And now I am used to it.
But he gets worried when I go off without informing him, as he thinks something bad might happen to me and I don’t blame him because we lost our parents when we were very young and we just had each other.
I sighed heavily and slumped on the bed, as I was very tired and tried to relax, but I couldn’t because as soon as I closed my eyes, I started thinking about how Hudson had kissed me back then in the conference room, it was as if he was punishing me.
He hasn’t changed much. In fact, he has become more handsome. His boyish features have developed into quite a sturdy man. He has warm brown eyes and black hair, which always intrigued me. His presence near me always disturbed me. And today I realized how I had longed for him to kiss me.
I opened my eyes as I did not want to go back into that world right now, as I had to finish up the project no matter what and Hudson was a big distraction.
I need to talk to my brother about his involvement in the project, as I might not be comfortable working with him and today’s kiss had proven that he knew I still wanted him.
I got up and walked to the washroom to freshen up.
After I was done cleaning up and wearing my pyjamas, I walked out and saw my brother sitting and watching the news.
I slowly walked towards him and snuggled beside him.
He moved his arm comfortingly and took me in his arms.
“Kiddo, one of these days I will wriggle your neck. You know how worried I get when I do not know what you are about. And you do not see your texts as well. Why do you want to get into unnecessary trouble.” Jayden said a little angrily.
I got up and took out my phone from my pocket and saw many messages from him. I looked at him guiltily and sent him a text.
" I am sorry Jayden but I had to rush to meet the clients.”
Jayden shook his head as if he did not believe me at all and then I typed again.
“I need to ask you a favour.”
“Yeah tell me what is it kiddo? Apart from telling me to go out and get your favourite ice cream, as I don’t want to go anywhere, I am really tired.” Jayden said yawning away.
I looked at him nervously then typed.
“Jayden can you allow me to handle the layout for the project when it starts, by myself, as I don’t want to work with Hudson Ford.”
“What! Why?” My bother exclaimed loudly. Looking at me with a confused expression.
I knew I had to tell him, so I texted in three simple words.
“Sweden, Graduation party.”
He read it and after a while the realization hit him and he chuckled softly and said. “You mean he is that guy, but Kiddo I can't keep him away from the project, you know why I have chosen him right, he is dedicated and hardworking and he is the right one to take over, our parent's dream project. I understand you have a history with him and I promise I will try to keep him away from you. We need to start the project soon as he knows in and out of it. And besides he is one of the top most businessman here, so we need his help.”
My brother sounded so helpless. He is the richest man in Budapest but when it comes to his birth country he seems to lack confidence and I can understand why.
I nodded my head as I knew, we needed to think rationally and after the project ended we would fly back to Budapest and Hudson will become history.
“Callie darling,” Jayden said lovingly. “Are you ready to go and visit our ancestral home?”
Thinking of it brought back many happy and sad memories but I wanted to visit my childhood home, so I texted him confirming that I was willing to go.
He hugged me tightly and I felt so secure. If it had not been for Jayden’s love and care I would have died a long time back. But now I am a confident woman and can do anything I want. I have reached the heights of glory at an early age and it was all because of hard work and dedication.
I know Mom and Dad are always watching us and they must be very happy that Jayden and I bond so well we have such beautiful memories of our parents, so we have learned to be happy as things are.
My brother got up after we had dinner and excusing himself went to the room, while I walked into my room and sat near the balcony observing the City outside.
Hudson Ford's POV
Hudson finished having his dinner and sat down in the library to read the report sent by his secretary.
As he went through it, it was a dead-end, as nothing much could be searched about her.
He got up and got his phone from the table typed a message and sent it.
Then he took out a cigarette and started smoking.
