Chapter 5: Please be my secretary
Looking at David's stern face, Ella believed he was telling the truth. A man who does not casually go to bed with anyone does not have sex unless he is married. Ella thought that if any girl became David's wife, she would be very lucky.
"Tomorrow I'll drive you to the hospital so you can visit your father, then go home to get some clothes. I'll ask Key to deliver your luggage to my house."
Wherever David said, Ella nodded. Suddenly remembering something, she asked. "What about you telling me that I'm an employee in your company? You lied like that, what should I do?"
David calmly said. "Make the lie true. I need a secretary, please be my secretary."
"Really? Will I get a job?"
"I don't say two words."
Ella changed the subject. "Your mother is a bit difficult, she doesn't seem to like me. But Rika is very cute."
"Be patient. After a while, she will accept you, as long as you do everything you can." David looked at her with a serious face.
"I can walk around the house freely, okay?" Ella asked.
"Of course. Now everyone in the house thinks you're my wife. In your free time, you can go shopping with Rika or do whatever you want." David tapped his fingers on the table.
At first, Ella thought the 'marriage contract' offer to David was crazy, but it's not that bad. She has money for her father's surgery, she finds a job. However, a million dollars is too big. She told herself that she would do a good job of being a wife to deserve the money, or else she would be indebted to David.
The next morning, Ella woke up and looked over to the sofa but didn't see David. Perhaps he exercises or goes for a run. Rich people often have such a habit.
Ella cleaned herself up, changed into Rika's pink dress, and went to the dining room. As soon as she entered, she saw her father and mother-in-law sitting at the table on the right. Rika sat on the left. The food has just been served. Ella bowed to them and pulled a chair next to Rika.
Mrs. Emma started to cause trouble. "You just got up at this hour? You are the niece-in-law in the family but you keep us waiting. You don't know what a wife is supposed to do? You have to get up early, and prepare breakfast for family members, understand?"
"We have no shortage of housekeepers, let them do it. Why should Ella do it?" Rika defends Ella.
"You shut up. I'm teaching your sister-in-law." Mrs. Emma glanced at Rika.
David entered the kitchen door. He was wearing sports clothes, with a scarf around his neck. He said looking at his watch and said. "It's only six-thirty, our family still eats breakfast at this time every day. That way, Ella doesn't get up late. Besides, Grandpa hasn't come down yet, Mom."
"You mean I'm talking nonsense? I can't educate my daughter-in-law?" Mrs. Emma said in a grumpy voice.
"I didn't mean that. I was just..." Before David finished his sentence, Ella was secretly pulling on his shirt.
"I'm sorry. I'll pay more attention next time." Ella bowed her head and said.
Mrs. Emma just glared at Ella, as a warning. She didn't say anything.
Moments later, Mr. Harry came and sat in the middle of the table. When everyone was present, they enjoyed breakfast in silence, no one said a word to anyone. It was Anthony's family rule that while eating, no talking was allowed. Ella felt the air suffocating. She worked hard to eat without picking up food. Seeing that, David put the food in her bowl of rice.
After eating, Mr. Harry called David and Ella into his private room. He told Ella. "You know, David is the boss of D&A Group. His job is very busy, he has to often go on business trips and meet male or female customers. I hope you will not notice these things. such a small matter and don't get jealous. A wife needs to stand behind her husband to support him in all circumstances. Share and sympathize. You know what I mean, Ella?" Mr. Harry asked in a serious tone.
"Yes, I understand," Ella replied.
"And this too, I wish I could have grandchildren to carry." Mr. Harry smiled at Ella and David.
Ella swallowed. "Yes, we will try... to have... a boy or a girl."
"Yes, Grandpa. We'll make you happy." David smiled as he looked at Ella's face. She knew it was a wry smile.
"You two can go out, I want to rest." Mr. Harry said.
Ella walked down the stairs to the second floor, lowering her voice. "What should we do about pregnancy?"
David thought for a moment, then answered. "I don't think Grandpa won't rush. He knows I'm busy. If he asks again, you can use an excuse to answer it casually."
"I know." Ella nodded.
"Now let's go to the hospital," David said and joined Ella at the door.
Mrs. Emma stood inside, looked at them, and told the woman next to her was Sophie - Anthony's housekeeper. "Let's investigate that girl. All the information, I want to know what kind of person she is."
"Yes, madam. But why would you want to investigate the master's wife?" Sophie wondered.
"I feel like there's something wrong with the two of them. Last night, when David introduced Ella, there was a bit of awkwardness between them. How can a couple be so awkward?"
Sophie performed the task that Mrs. Emma asked.
The Nissan stopped in front of the hospital gate. Before Ella got out of the car, David explained every detail. "After visiting your father, take a taxi home to pack your clothes and put them in your suitcase. When you're done, give me a call. I'll have Key come and deliver your luggage to Anthony's house. You're staying here today. with your father. Starting next Monday, you can go to work."
"I know," Ella said and opened the door to get out of the car. She walked through the hospital gate.
A few nurses saw Ella get out of the famous billionaire's car X city, they whispered among themselves.
"How did a girl like her get to know the billionaire Anthony?"
"He's the heir to the Anthony family. He's so handsome."
"Hey, you're married. Your husband will get jealous if you look at him with passionate eyes."
"Sorry, but my husband isn't here right now."
Ella didn't care about those words. Either way, her making David's wife was just a no-brainer. After the three-year period ends, she and he will break up, and no longer have anything to do with each other.
