Chapter Two - I don't like brats.

Wyatt

I wait patiently for Alyssa to come back to my office to give me my answer. I won’t fire her if she says no. I need her to believe I would. I get what I want, always, and what I want right now is for her to come as my date. Alyssa is cute and a little classier than the women I usually have around. She isn’t my type, far from it. I prefer skinny blondes with green eyes. She has brown hair, curvy and has blue eyes. No, she isn’t from the same class as my family, but not many people are. My family don’t need to know that. They have no idea she is my assistant. She is polite, and if I dress her appropriately, I can convince them that she is. It is only for one day. I need everyone to get off my back and quit trying to set me up with women.

I need a particular type of woman. I have the women who I fuck, but it is only sex. When I need more, there are specific things I want in a partner. My lifestyle isn’t for everyone. I am not open about my life because it is no one’s business. The only people who know are the ones involved. It takes a lot for me to let someone into my world. Trust needs to be built.

I checked the time and noticed she should be done by now. I am not asking for much. It isn’t like I am asking her to fuck me or marry me. I will make it worth her while. I will pay her if that is what she wants. I soon start to lose patience and tap my fingers against my chest. She has two minutes before I go through to her office.

Just as I am about to stand, I hear movement coming from her office and footsteps approaching. I get to my feet and go to lean in front of my desk, my arms folded across my chest.

She sighs and appears in front of me, “Are you really going to fire me if I don’t come with you?”

I fight back a smirk, push myself off my desk and stroll towards her. When I am close, she has the same reaction as earlier. Her body tenses and her breathing becomes a little heavier. I affect her the same way I do every other woman, but Alyssa will never admit it.

“Yes,” I say firmly.

She rolls her eyes, and my jaw clenches. I have ways to deal with attitudes like that; she is lucky she isn’t mine, or I want to fuck her.

“You know I could report you for this, right?” she huffs.

I laugh, “Yes, but you won’t.”

“You don’t know that. Why are you doing this to me? You could have asked anyone here to go with you. Someone who is interested in you could play the part better than me.”

“Everyone is interested in me, even you,” I say confidently.

She scoffs at me, and my fists clench this time. Oh, how I would love to teach her how to behave, but I can’t. I can’t go down that road. I don’t mix business with pleasure.

“I am not. You are my boss, nothing more. I don’t even like you.”

She quickly covers her mouth with her hand. I don’t believe she was supposed to say those words out loud.

“Excuse me? Isn’t that a little rude?” I ask.

She panics, and it is written all over her face: “Sorry, Sir. I did not mean to say it out loud.”

It doesn’t bother me. Most people don’t like me, and I don’t care. I can use it to my advantage for now.

“You can make it up to me by attending the wedding,” I smirk.

“Is there any way I can get out of it without being fired?”

I am not one for blackmailing to get what I want, but my date cancelled on me last minute, and I can’t be fucked trying to find someone else suitable.

I shake my head, “No. If it will make you feel better, I will pay you ten grand.” I suggest.

“Are you for real? What am, a damn hooker?” she snaps.

I chuckle, “You are being over dramatic. Hookers have sex for money. I am asking you to be my wedding date. Huge difference.”

“No, I am not taking your damn money! I will come but do not ever ask me for anything like this again. If you do, I will report you. You will need to buy me a dress because I am not paying it out of my pocket, especially since I don’t even want to come.” She snarls.

I am not used to her being so feisty. In the year she has worked for me, she has been timid and done everything I told her. I hate to admit it, but it is turning me on. No, stop. I don’t like brats.

“That is only fair. We can go shopping tomorrow at lunch. I should probably mention it is a two-night thing. It will be too late to drive back by the time the wedding finishes.” I smile.

“What? I hope you plan on booking two rooms because I am not staying in the same room as you.” She whines.

I smirk, “Why not? Worried you will be too tempted?”

She rolls her eyes again and takes a few steps back from me, “No. I told you I am not interested in you. I don’t even find you attractive. I just don’t want to share a damn room with my boss. The day will be bad enough being forced to do something I don’t want to, never mind having to share a room with you.”

“You will have to. The resort is sold out for the wedding. I will take the sofa. You can have the bed.”

It is not a lie. The rooms are all filled with wedding guests. I am not playing some game where I pretend there are no rooms free to force proximity. I am not some hero in those cheesy romance books, desperate for the female’s attention.

“Fine! You owe me.” She exclaims.

“You know I can fire you, right?” I ask.

“You could try, but I would make life a living hell for you if you did.” She says confidently.

It would seem there are many more sides to Alyssa than I could have imagined. I am curious to find out more this weekend.

“None of us are going to come out on top here, so we should stop. You can go home now. We have a busy day tomorrow, and we need to leave on Saturday at six in the morning. You will be easier coming to stay at the place on Friday night, so I don’t need to make a trip to pick you up.”

She shakes her head, “No. I am not staying with you. It is a boundary I refuse to cross. You can pick me up, or I am not coming.” She states firmly.

God, she is infuriating!

“Fine. I will pick you up.” I sigh, giving in. I can’t have her changing her mind on me.

“Good. I am going home now.”

She walks away, returns to her office, gathers her things and leaves without saying another word. She is pissed off at me, and rightly so. I did just threaten to fire her if she didn’t help me out. I would be pissed at me too. As I said, I always get what I want, and not even Alyssa is immune to it, no matter how much she likes to think she is.
