Chapter 6

ISABELLA'S POV

I pondered on why I had agreed to fulfill Levi's request, as a rush of uncertainty and excitement coursed through me. Levi’s blank expression added to the intrigue of the moment. I didn't know how he would react to me bringing him coffee out of nowhere. It scared me and filled me with a thrill at the same time.

Despite not being a secretary, I found myself catering to Levi's needs anyway. I don’t think it will be so weird to get him coffee. I'm just overthinking it.

Although, Levi’s aloof demeanor made it clear that approaching him was a rare occurrence in the company. Many believed his rise to leadership was solely due to his father's influence, adding to the mystique surrounding him. He had probably heard the rumours about him that's why he stays away from everyone.

"Excuse me," I uttered, rising from my seat and making my way to the airport café.

My voice was very low, and Mark and Levi didn't pay me any mind as I walked out.

Observing Mark prepare Levi's coffee on previous occasions had left me with a clear understanding of his preferences – brown, no sugar and warm. So I ordered it and came back almost immediately to the lounge.

When I got back to the private section with the coffee in hand, uncertainty gripped me.

How should I approach Levi?

Would he even want the coffee right now?

Would he reproach me?

These questions swirled in my mind as I scanned the room, only to find Mark, Levi's ever-present assistant, occupying the space alone.

"Where's the boss?" I inquired, my voice betraying a hint of nerves, drawing a perplexed gaze from Mark.

"He's on his way. Why do you ask?" Mark's tone was neutral, but his expression conveyed mild bewilderment.

“Uhm. I..” I fumbled for words, my mind racing to form a coherent response. Before I could articulate a reply, the door swung open, and Levi strode in, his presence commanding attention.

I had momentarily forgotten the coffee in my hand all that was in my head was to take flight out of the room. My boss always made me too nervous.

As I turned to flee from the room, a surge of panic engulfed me, causing me to collide with Levi and inadvertently spill the contents of the cup all over his white shirt. I was so startled that I didn't even notice that someone had touched my face. Thank goodness the coffee was warm. I glanced up at him, my eyes widening in shock, while he responded with a smirk that sent my heart pounding erratically.

I knew I was in trouble.

"Uhmm. Hmm," I managed to utter, my voice wavering under the weight of the tense atmosphere.

"Waiter!" Mark's voice interrupted, as he rose from his chair, his timely intervention easing the tension slightly.

"I'm so sorry, sir," I apologized, attempting to turn away, but Levi's firm grip on my hand stopped me.

"Not so fast."

My heart began to race as his warm touch enveloped my hand. I think of his palm covering my mouth Instead while he fucks me from behind.

The thought makes me swallow

The waiter hurried in through another entrance, breathless with apology. "Sir, I'm terribly sorry. We can assist with your shirt."

"Get me a napkin," Levi directed calmly.

Scampering away, the waiter swiftly returned with a napkin on a tray, which Levi promptly took from him.

As Levi brought the napkin toward my face, I tensed, ready to protest. "Sir, you don't have to. I can manage on my own."

"Shhh. Don't say another word," he commanded gently, his authoritative tone oddly soothing as I complied obediently. There was an unexpected sweetness in his instruction that silenced any further protest from me.

With careful precision, Levi began to wipe away the coffee stains from my face. His touch was surprisingly tender, and as his thumb grazed my lips, a shiver ran down my spine, leaving goosebumps in its wake. Suppressing the urge to capture his thumb between my lips, I stepped back instead, a flush creeping into my cheeks.

"Have you considered quitting since you are always nervous around me?" Levi's question pierced the air, his gaze fixed on me with unwavering intensity. My heart hammered against my ribcage in response, a wave of emotions swirling within me.

Does he want me to quit?

Is my desire so obvious?

Oh God, he's going to sack me.

Despite the rising tide of nerves threatening to overwhelm me, I swallowed hard, forcing myself to maintain composure.

"N-no, sir, I haven't considered resigning," I replied, my voice betraying a hint of desperation. "I love this job, and I need it." The words spilled out in a rush, fueled by a determination to hold onto what I had worked so hard to achieve. Interning with the Ferrari team had been a dream come true, and a result of my dedication. Giving up was never an option, and it's not now. “Sir, I can do this job,” I added.

Levi's penetrating gaze remained fixed on me as I struggled to maintain my composure, resisting the urge to nervously bite my lip.

“It doesn't seem like it…”

"Sorry for spilling the coffee on you, sir," I cut in, my voice trembling slightly. "I... I was just so grateful for your positive feedback on my report. It gave me renewed confidence in myself. So I.. I wanted to give you coffee to show my appreciation.”

For the first time, a hint of gentleness softened Levi's eyes, momentarily catching me off guard. As I tried to steady my racing heart, Mark reappeared, carrying a change of clothes for Levi. Without a word, Levi retreated to the changing room, leaving me alone with my thoughts.

When he emerged, clad in a striking blue shirt that accentuated his captivating eyes, a surge of desire washed over me, threatening to engulf my senses.

I want him so much.

Before I could gather my scattered thoughts, Levi reached out and grasped my hand firmly, his touch sending a jolt of electricity coursing through me.

"Sir, what are you doing?" I managed to stammer, my voice barely above a whisper.

"Getting you coffee," he replied. “And you can't say no,”

He guided me through the bustling helipad terminal, our footsteps echoing against the polished floors. We used the airport for take-off because of Levi’s father's demands for a specific pilot instead of the hotel.

"Two cups of coffee, please," Levi's voice cut through the ambient noise, drawing the attention of the waitress, whose gaze lingered on him with an intensity that made my stomach churn with jealousy.

I breathed in and out and reminded myself that my feelings for Levi were futile; he was beyond my reach, entangled in a world far removed from mine. Suppressing the pang of envy that threatened to consume me, I forced a semblance of composure onto my features.

Levi turned to me, his expression softened with an apology that caught me off guard. "I'm sorry for misunderstanding you and for asking if you would quit. My bad," he offered, his eyes searching mine for a response.

Just as I braced myself to respond, the waitress reappeared with our coffee, her eyes lingering on Levi with a hunger that made my stomach turn with unease.

I think I might just throw up.

"Can I get your number, sir?" she brazenly inquired, her boldness unsettling.

To my surprise, Levi didn't immediately respond to her request. Instead, he turned to me, his gaze probing as if seeking my approval. "Do I give her my number?" he asked, catching me off guard with his unexpected question.

Caught off guard, I struggled to form a coherent response, my thoughts scattering like leaves in the wind. "Uhm… uhmm," I stammered, my voice faltering under the weight of the moment.

"Speak your mind," Levi commanded softly, his eyes fixed on mine with an intensity that made it difficult to think straight.

Feeling the weight of the waitress's expectant gaze, mixed with a hint of resentment, I glanced back at Levi, desperately searching for guidance.

"Don't," I finally managed to mumble, my voice barely above a whisper, the words tasting bitter on my tongue, yet sweet in my heart.

Without hesitation, Levi closed the distance between us, his presence enveloping me as he leaned in closer, his warm breath tickling my ear. "Say it louder," he whispered, his voice sending a shiver down my spine. “Let her hear it.”
