Chapter 6 Forceful Kiss

Sharon raised her head, about to speak.

Alex grabbed her hand and smiled. "Grandma, we're getting ready!"

Sharon tried to shake off his hand, but Alex held on tightly, not giving her any chance to break free.

Sharon looked at Sandra. "Ms. Sharon, I'm currently looking for a job, so having a baby might have to be postponed."

As soon as she said this, the living room fell into a sudden silence.

Alex tightened his grip on her hand, his face turning extremely grim.

Feeling the pain in her wrist, Sharon frowned.

Seb's gaze lingered on Alex's tight grip on Sharon's hand for a second before he looked away indifferently.

Alex's aunt, Sarah, sneered, "Sharon, don't take it the wrong way, but you and Alex have been hitched for years now. Isn't it about time you two thought about having a kid? After all, the Smith family isn't just any family."

"If it weren't for Alex insisting on marrying you back then, do you think your family background would have allowed you to marry into our family?"

She looked at Sharon with disdain and superiority.

Seeing this, Sandra stepped in to mediate. "Sharon, you and Alex are still young. If you don't want to have children now, you can consider it in a few years. But don't work too hard; the family doesn't lack money. Just treat it as passing the time."

Sharon nodded. "I understand."

This unpleasant little episode seemed to pass, and the living room returned to its previous harmony.

Seeing that everyone's attention was no longer on them, Alex directly dragged Sharon out of the living room.

It wasn't until he pulled her to the gazebo in the backyard that Alex let go of her and coldly said, "Sharon, are you crazy?Do you really want the whole family knowing about our squabbles just to make you feel better??"

Sharon rubbed her sore hand and looked down. "I was just telling the truth."

"The truth?" Alex looked at Sharon with a grim expression. "Should I call your father and let him know about our issues?"

Robert Wright had been in poor health recently, and the doctor advised against any stress.

Sharon planned to divorce Alex first and then slowly break the news to her father.

Sharon glared at Alex. "How dare you? You're the one who cheated first. What right do you have to threaten me?"

Alex's fists clenched involuntarily at his sides. "I've already promised you that it won't happen again. If you don't want to see Ava, I'll fire her. What more do you want?"

Sharon felt she couldn't communicate with Alex at all. She looked away. "I don't want to argue with you here."

Seeing her eyes turn red, Alex sighed and softened his tone. "Sharon, I really know I was wrong. As long as you don't mention divorce, I'll make it up to you. I love you and can't let you go."

Sharon found it laughable.

Alex was truly shameless. He said he loved her, yet he could still sleep with Ava.

Just thinking about them in bed made Sharon feel disgusted.

She said, "I can never forgive you."

Betrayal was Sharon's bottom line. She couldn't pretend nothing had happened and couldn't reconcile with Alex.

Alex knew Sharon's temper, and he was indeed at fault. It seemed he could only take it slow.

Alex was convinced Sharon still had a soft spot for him. He was sure that if he didn't grant the divorce, she'd eventually forgive him.

He said, "Fine, let's not talk about this. If you don't want to have a child, we'll postpone it for two years. If you want to work, I'll have my secretary arrange a position for you at the Smith Group tomorrow."

Hearing Alex's arrangement, Sharon couldn't help but laugh, looking at him with sarcasm. "Alex, in your eyes, am I not a person but a puppet you can control as you please?"

Alex winced at Sharon's gaze and frowned. "How am I controlling you? You said you didn't want to have a child, and I agreed to postpone it. You said you wanted to work, and I arranged it for you. Why are you still complaining?"

"I don't want to have a child because I want to divorce you. I want to work to cut ties with you completely," Sharon sneered.

Alex looked down at Sharon, her stubbornness displeasing him.

Since they got hitched, Sharon was like a pet bird he owned. He couldn't let her fly from his grip!

"As long as I don't agree, you can't get a divorce. Even if you tell the lawyer I cheated, do you have any evidence?" Alex's expression was confident, even arrogant.

Sharon instinctively took a few steps back, trembling with anger.

After tearing away Alex's gentle facade, Sharon realized how selfish and disgusting he truly was. And she had loved this man for eight years.

She said, "Alex, you make me sick!"

Seeing the undisguised disgust in Sharon's eyes, Alex's pupils shrank. He grabbed Sharon's chin, forcing her to look at him. "Sharon, I understand you're angry, but I don't want to hear such words again."

Even if Alex had made a mistake, he wouldn't allow Sharon to look at him that way.

Sharon slapped Alex's hand away in disgust. "Don't touch me, you're filthy!"

"Filthy?" Alex sneered, stepping forward to grab her waist and pinning her against the gazebo pillar. He lowered his head and kissed her.

Since Sharon would only say things he didn't want to hear, he had to shut her up.

She couldn't push him away and instinctively turned her head.

Alex's warm lips landed on Sharon's cheek, making her skin crawl with disgust.

"Alex, let go of me!" she shouted.

"You're still my wife. Why should I let go?" Alex grabbed Sharon's chin and kissed her hard.

"Let go; I won't be your wife for long!" Sharon said.

"Are you still thinking about divorce? In your dreams!" Alex said.

His dominance made Sharon even angrier.

She struggled fiercely, pushing Alex away, but he didn't care, forcing her back until she had nowhere to retreat.

Sharon's eyes reddened, and just as they were fiercely pulling at each other, a light cough sounded behind them. "Am I interrupting something?"

Sharon froze, looked up, and met Seb's teasing gaze.
