Chapter 4- The New CEO

Chapter 4

The driver parked my Bugatti in front of the company and the door was opened for me as I stepped out my heels touching the ground.

I felt a surge of power go through me as I took the first step. It was time for me to bring them down.

All of them.

I enter the company, the sound of my heels announcing my presence. I could feel the stares, hear the whispers, wondering who this woman was. Not many of them knew me physically.

They might know my name and hear stories about me. Believe me the stories weren't pretty.

I'm known as the ruthless granddaughter, the only person that is ever worthy of my smile or time is my mom and grandpa, the rest of the world is dead to me.

And I live by that name very well.

I held my head high and every footstep I take is calculated, I'm a woman with purpose, a woman on a mission. Everything about me radiated an aura of confidence and power. It was what I was made for.

I suddenly stopped when I saw a woman.

The first thing I noticed was her hair. It was like she just rushed out of bed and tied it with a hair band without actually combing it. Then my eyes moved to her clothes, they didn't match but she still wore them nevertheless. The pants she was wearing were tight like it wasn't her size, the top looked like she didn't care to iron it and don't even get me started on her shoes. I don't remember it raining today or yesterday but the shoes looked like she ran under the rain and didn't bother cleaning it. How did someone like this find her way into the company?

She was traumatizing to look at.

“ Hey you," I called and she raised her head from what she was doing with her colleague as she looked at me. She pointed to her chest asking if I was referring to her and I couldn't help but roll my eyes.

“ Get here," I said as I beckoned her over.

She quickly rushed to me with her head down. It was annoying to watch.

“ You called me ma'am," She said.

I took time to really look at her and it didn't make my eyes feel any better.

“ Do you work here?" I asked.

“ Yes…yes ma'am," She stammered.

“ Look at me when I'm talking to you and stand up straight," I snapped and she immediately stood up straight as she started to shake.

I haven't even said anything and she was shaking.

“ If you want to keep your job, I guess you better change your wardrobe because you can't be an employee in this company looking like that," I said as I moved my hand up and down in front of her.

“ The company provides a wardrobe allowance for employees to look good and you're not representing the company, if you want to dress like someone who works in a cheap company do that, but do that after dropping your resignation letter, are we clear?”

" Yes ma'am, yes ma'am,"

“ Good, get back to what you were doing," I said before I turned from her and continued on my way.

My grandpa was waiting for me in his office. I couldn't help but think back to the last meeting we had. I could see the anger, the hatred, the malice in so many people's eyes when my grandpa said I would be the new CEO.

If looks could kill uncle Garry would have killed me on the spot but he couldn't as I just watched him from my seat with a smirk and nothing but confidence.

I was challenging him and he knew it.

I knocked on my grandpa's door and I heard his voice telling me to come in.

I pushed the door open and walked in and he was standing in front of his window that overlooked the city. He had his back to me.

“ Grandpa," I called and he turned to me.

“ Are you sure you are ready?" He asked with a smile.

“ I was ready from the moment I decided to walk into your office," I said as I walked to him and he opened his arms for me. I hugged him enjoying the feeling of his loving arms around me.

“ I trust you and I know everything would be fine,"

“ Thank you for trusting me,"

Everything was set for the meeting as we waited for the arrival of the new CEO. I've been busy making sure that everything goes well.

Everyone who is supposed to be in the meeting was already waiting.

I was about to walk to my seat when the door suddenly opened and it was like at that moment everyone held their breath as a woman walked in.

Blonde hair, blue eyes, dressed in a black suit that hugged her body perfectly with a drop necklace that looked simple but I had no doubt it was worth a fortune, chin held high and carrying a powerful aura around her.

I knew her. She was Mr Miller's granddaughter. The arrogant Ariana.

What was she doing here?

Did she come to support her mom as she would be introduced as the new CEO?

As she walked into the room I expected that her mother would follow but nobody entered after her. Everyone was seated as they watched her just like I did.

Her stride was poised as she walked to the head chair and then with the most authoritative voice I've never heard any woman speak with, she said.

“ Hello everyone, I'm Ariana Miller, the new CEO of Miller's Cooperation,"

My breath held in my throat.
