Chapter 4: I Am the Chairman
"Isn't that what you did?" Willow shrugged.
"You're only half right," Skyview said lightly, a smile quickly appearing on his face.
Although Willow's thoughts were similar to the others, her actions surprised Skyview.
Time flew by, and after a satisfying meal, almost everyone seemed ready to leave.
Even though Skyview was the host, Pancay took the spotlight, stepping onto the stage, holding a microphone, "It looks like everyone has finished eating, so let's call it a night. But before we go, we should all thank Skyview for treating us today!"
"Thank you!"
The crowd's voices were chaotic, lacking sincerity.
"Thanks to Skyview for taking out a loan to treat us!" someone in the crowd joked, causing others to burst into laughter.
Gradually, most people began to leave. Skyview, Pancay, and others were waiting for the elevator in the corridor.
Pancay deliberately jingled the car keys in his hand, smiling. "Where do you live? Need a ride?"
"No, I'll drive myself," Skyview declined.
"Everyone knows you ride an electric bike. Do you really think you can afford a Porsche?" Pancay mocked.
Skyview didn't want to waste words. After all, he was now the chairman of the Twin Group, a billionaire. He was longer a delivery man. Since he was already a billionaire, why bother arguing with those who were not?
Before long, Skyview and the others boarded the elevator, heading to the underground parking lot.
Standing next to the Porsche, Skyview waved to Willow. "Where do you live? I can give you a ride."
"No need, I'll walk out from here, the subway is right outside." Willow waved, declining.
"Alright." Skyview nodded helplessly, opened the Porsche door, and drove out of the underground parking lot.
Seeing this, Pancay and Alice were stunned.
"My goodness, when did Skyview become so wealthy?" Pancay fumed, recalling the things he had said and done during dinner in disbelief.
Alice, on the other hand, deeply regretted it. She finally understood what she had lost!
One was a millionaire who was not sincere with Alice, and the other was a multimillionaire who genuinely cared for Alice. It was obvious which one was better, but Alice lost the better one.
The rest of the people looked astonished. If they had known Skyview was so wealthy, why bother pleasing Pancay? They should have pleased Skyview instead.
Unfortunately, it seemed too late.
Under Lily's arrangements, Skyview now had everything from yachts to luxury cars, helicopters, private jets, and more.
He even moved to the banks of Swallow River, enjoying a luxurious mansion of a thousand square meters in this bustling area!
Upon returning, Skyview lay by the rooftop pool of his mansion, gazing at the night view of the riverbank, feeling deeply moved.
Back when he was just a delivery man, he could only ride his electric bike with Alice by the river at night, never daring to dream of buying a house by the river, even if it was just fifty square meters.
Now, as the chairman of the Twin Group, even if he delegated everything to Hekka, he still had to introduce himself to other directors.
Most importantly, Hekka couldn't manage the Twin Group for Skyview forever, so he had to understand the group and gradually acquire the necessary skills.
Early in the morning, as the Porsche arrived at the company's entrance, Skyview spotted two familiar figures, Pancay and Alice.
"Pancay's family runs a factory, right? Why are they at the Twin Group?" Skyview was puzzled and asked Lily to find out.
It turned out that Pancay had brought Alice to the Twin Group for an interview early in the morning.
Skyview walked into the interview room, where many interviewers were conducting interviews, while Pancay and Alice waited outside.
Apart from them, Willow from last night was unexpectedly there too.
Skyview deliberately coughed to get their attention. Pancay and the others turned to look.
"Isn't this the wealthy Skyview? Since you have a Rolls-Royce, helicopter, and cruise ship, why do you need to apply to the Twin Group?" Pancay sneered.
For some reason, upon seeing Skyview, Pancay felt relieved, perhaps because it convinced him Skyview wasn't really wealthy.
When Alice saw Skyview in the interview room, she had been regretful the night before, thinking about how to reconcile with him. Now, she was glad she hadn't impulsively tried to get back together with Skyview.
After all, if Skyview was truly that wealthy, why would he be applying to the Twin Group?
"Skyview, the Twin Group doesn't hire delivery men," Alice remarked sarcastically.
"I don't need to apply to the Twin Group. I'm the chairman," Skyview said calmly.
However, Pancay and Alice didn't believe him.
Skyview sat down next to Willow. "I returned the money you transferred to me last night. Let me tell you a secret, I'm actually the chairman of Twin Group," Skyview whispered, lowering his voice.
Willow looked at Skyview expressionlessly, as if she were looking at a fool. "Skyview, haven't you had enough fun?"
"I'm not joking, I really am the chairman of the Twin Group," Skyview shrugged, looking serious.
Pancay and Alice overheard this and struggled to contain their laughter. "Skyview, you must be desperate to come up with such a lie."
"Skyview, breaking up with you was the best decision I've ever made in my life," Alice said.
Skyview sighed, wondering why it was so difficult for them to accept his new status.
"I'm a billionaire now! I've also inherited the Twin Group!" Skyview declared.
Pancay and Alice were initially stunned, then burst into uncontrollable laughter, while Willow turned her head away, no longer interested in listening.
To Willow, it seemed like Skyview was experiencing a hard time after the breakup, appearing somewhat delusional.
At that moment, the door of the interview room opened, and an interviewer stepped out. Just as he was about to call in the next candidate, he suddenly turned to Skyview and greeted, "Mr. Scott, hello."
Upon hearing this, Pancay and Alice reacted as if they had been shocked. They stood up straight, following the interviewer's gaze.
After staring for a while, Pancay and Alice realized Skyview wasn't lying after all.
"This is my classmate. She is quite capable. Don't make it difficult for her." Skyview patted the interviewer's shoulder and left with his hands behind his back.
"Understood, Mr. Scott," the interviewer said obediently, leaving Pancay and Alice in shock.
Finally, they understood that Skyview had truly become a billionaire.
You could rent Rolls-Royces, helicopters, cruise ships, and even bribe waiters, but you couldn't rent or buy the position of chairman of the Twin Group.
Ironically, Pancay and Alice perceived Skyview as nothing more than a humble delivery man, unaware that in reality, Skyview had already surpassed them in social status by a significant margin.
