Chapter 4 He Inherits Trillions

Several security guards rushed over immediately.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to!"

James shoved the woman in black stockings aside, ran into the lift, and pressed the 38th-floor button as the security guards charged him.

When the security guards reached the elevator doors, they found that James was already on his way up.

"Miss. Reed, are you okay? What just happened?"

The security chief asked the woman in black stockings, looking puzzled.

"A delivery guy just came in from nowhere and harassed me. You need to catch him immediately. I want this pervert sent to the police station!"

The woman blinked her sexy eyes, which were now starting to well up with tears.

The head of security felt somewhat conflicted.

"What are you hesitating for?" the woman in black stockings frowned, urging the head of security.

"He's headed to the thirty-eighth floor. Mr. Peterson has explicitly stated that no one is allowed on the 38th floor without his permission," the security chief said helplessly while looking at her.

The woman in black stockings froze for a moment after she heard that. Gritting her teeth, she murmured, "Then wait here and block all the exits of the building. I don't believe this pervert won't come down today!"

While in the elevator, James glanced helplessly at his right hand.

Although the touch of the woman's ample chest was pleasant, he knew he was in big trouble this time.

Nevertheless, James wasn't in the mood to dwell on that now. He only wanted to get to the bottom of this inheritance matter quickly.

A minute later, the elevator reached the thirty-eighth floor. Stepping out, James discovered that the entire floor was one large office. The place was lavishly decorated and provided a panoramic view of Lumina City, giving a feeling of overlooking the entire world.

At this moment, a middle-aged man in a suit and tie was sitting in an executive chair. Seeing James enter, he quickly stood up and walked over to him, speaking respectfully, "James, you're here!"

"Are you the one who called me earlier?" James inquired with a frown.

"Yes, let me introduce myself. I'm Charles Wilson, the general manager of Golden Peak Group," Charles said with a smile.

"I see," James nodded, looking around the office. "You mentioned on the phone that I have an inheritance to claim. What's this all about?"

"James, do you remember your grandfather's cousin?" Charles asked gently.

"My grandfather's cousin?" James instinctively paused for a moment, then suddenly recalled meeting his grandfather's cousin when he was young.

However, James had been told that his grandfather's cousin had passed away when he was in primary school.

"James, here's the thing: your grandfather's cousin is the chairman of Golden Peak Group."

"At the beginning of the group's establishment, Mr. Ramirez emigrated abroad and lived alone. He had no children or close relatives, so all his assets will be inherited solely by you," Charles said slowly.

"Me, inherit all by myself?" James was stunned to hear this, unable to believe that something straight out of a TV drama was unfolding in his life.

"Yes, let me give you a brief overview of Mr. Ramirez's estate. He has ten billion in domestic savings, which I have already transferred to you," Charles continued. "But this is just a small part of it, as aside from Golden Peak Group, the estate includes Stellar Enterprises Group, Blue Horizon Group, and several oil companies due to Mr. Ramirez's long-term residence abroad."

Charles took a document from the drawer and explained the inheritance to James. Initially attentive to Charles's explanations, James felt he was in a dream as the details unfolded. Unable to contain himself, he interrupted Charles to clarify, "Mr. Wilson, do you mean all this is solely for me?"

"Indeed," Charles earnestly nodded at James.

"How much are these assets worth altogether?" James queried further.

"Well ..." Charles hesitated and said calmly, "James, these assets are conservatively estimated to be worth a hundred trillion US dollars."

"A hundred trillion US dollars?" James's eyes widened in disbelief, his voice quivering.

"Yes," Charles nodded, meeting James's gaze calmly.

"This can't be real!" James shook his head in disbelief. "You must be pulling my leg. If my grandfather's cousin is this wealthy, why have I never heard of it? A hundred trillion would surely place him on the rich list, wouldn't it?"

"James, are you referring to the Forbes Rich List?" Charles chuckled as he looked at James.

"Yes, that list. With such wealth, surely he would have been on it long ago," James pressed on.

"Let me tell you this, James. Those you see on the rich list are not necessarily true titans of wealth," Charles explained. "They feature on the list to boost their reputation and access better social resources. Mr. Ramirez has long surpassed that stage. He resided abroad extensively because he preferred to keep his identity concealed."

James looked at Charles, sensing the honesty in his words. He wouldn't deceive a pauper like him even if he were a fraudster.

"Alright, so is there any requirement for me to inherit this estate?" James asked, calming his excitement.
