Chapter 4 Betrayed by Family
Jessica, holding back her inner sorrow, retorted, "Shouldn't I?"
Joan, also looking panicked and expressionless, said, "Jessica, you didn't even tell us you were coming."
Jessica walked step by step towards them.
Seeing the guilty look on their faces, she had a pretty good idea of who had sent her to a place like the Skyline Club tonight.
Thinking about how her virginity was inexplicably ruined, Jessica became very angry.
She had been an obedient person for over twenty years, thinking that well-behaved children would be rewarded.
But she ended up like this.
From now on, she wouldn't be obedient anymore.
Jessica took a few steps forward and slapped Joan hard on her face.
Pearl instantly screamed in anger, "Jessica, how dare you hit my mom? I'll call Grandma and Dad down right now, just you wait!"
Jessica grabbed Pearl's wrist and pulled her back.
Everyone thought she was weak, gentle, and virtuous, but it was all an act.
She was kind.
But others couldn’t hurt her because she was kind.
Jessica's eyes emitted a gloomy light, and for the first time, Pearl and her mother felt that the Jessica in front of them was so unfamiliar.
In their memory, Jessica never dared to talk back to them, let alone lay a hand on them.
For so long, they had always toyed with her like she was a dog.
Jessica said firmly, word by word, "Go ahead and call everyone down. Tonight's incident can be checked with all the surveillance at the Skyline Club. If Dad finds out about tonight, see if he would skin you both alive!"
Joan and Pearl's faces changed, also fearing that John would find out about tonight.
After all, when John divorced his ex-wife, Jessica was still young, and it was said that she was bullied in middle school and had depression.
He had always felt guilty towards Jessica and favored her more.
Moreover, this was no small matter.
If it really blew up, Joan and Pearl would be in trouble, too!
By then, John might kick them out in rage, and how would they survive?
Jessica saw their guilt and panic.
She harshly flung Pearl away, throwing her to the ground. She was too tired today, not just physically but also mentally exhausted.
Jessica dragged her weary body upstairs.
"If I hear any gossip about today's incident, we’re in it together."
Joan quickly helped Pearl up, staring intently at Jessica's back.
Pearl anxiously asked, "Mom, why did Jessica come back so soon? Did the person you found succeed?"
"Of course, he did. I specifically found a homeless man who had never been with a woman. Do you think she could have escaped?"
Joan laughed sinisterly and said, "Didn't you see the marks on Jessica's neck just now?"
Pearl suddenly worriedly asked, "Then Jessica must hate us. Will she really check the surveillance and tell Dad about this? Didn't you see how she looked just now like she wanted to kill us!"
Joan said unhurriedly, "What are you afraid of? Jessica is the daughter-in-law of the Kelly Family. Does she dare to speak out about today's incident? If she does, will she still have any dignity left? The Kelly Family won't spare her either."
Jessica escaped into the bathroom and locked the door behind her.
She turned on the showerhead, cold water washing over her naked body.
