Chapter 5 Husband Came Home

Warm steam filled the entire bathroom, and a thin layer of mist covered the mirror.

Jessica looked at herself in the mirror, her skin covered in bruises, shocked by the sight.

Especially on her collarbone, the deep and shallow kiss marks seemed to silently tell the last night's madness.

With trembling hands, she gently touched those marks, an indescribable sense of shame welling up inside her.

"How could this happen?"

Jessica closed her eyes, her mind uncontrollably recalling the scenes from last night.

It was full of the man's dominance, roughness, and her powerless struggle and resistance.

And that unfamiliar tingling sensation deep inside her body was followed by the emptiness and soreness that swept over her afterward.

Jessica squatted down in pain, buried her face in her knees, and let her tears and the water flow together.

She didn't understand why she had to go through such a thing.

'Why me?'

Jessica moaned in pain, her hands tightly gripping her hair as if she wanted to tear herself apart.

She hated her weakness and helplessness.

And she hated the man who took everything from her!

At that moment, a warm liquid flowed from between her legs, carrying a faint metallic taste.

Jessica froze, slowly lowering her head to look at the glaring red, her heart filled with despair and sadness.

It was her first time having sex.

Just like that, it was taken away roughly by a stranger.

"Why?" Jessica collapsed weakly on the ground, her eyes blurred with tears.

It took her a while to put herself together.

Jessica changed her clothes and returned to the Kelly Family villa.

James hadn't come home yet.

Jessica didn't know how to explain this to James.

Forget it; maybe James didn't even care.

After all, in the two years of their marriage, he had spoken to her less than ten times.

It was only because her mother had saved a life of the Kelly Family, and after her mother passed away, he agreed to take care of her and married her.

Moreover, Jessica wanted to know who the man from last night was.

Maybe she was too tired yesterday, and she fell asleep without realizing it.

When she woke up, it was already noon.

She was surprised to find that James had come back at some point and was sitting on the sofa in the bedroom.

He looked noble and elegant in the black suit shirt and silver-gray tie, yet even more aloof.

James said nothing, his attractive lips tightly pressed together, exuding an aura that kept people at a distance.

Jessica had never seen James like this, and she was startled by his gaze.

Thinking about what she had gone through last night, she felt a bit guilty.

She pulled the blanket over herself, trying to cover her body as much as possible.

"You... you are back?"

Jessica tried to stay calm, but her stuttering and timidity had already exposed her guilt.

James usually stayed in the guest room and had never entered the main bedroom.

James stood up and walked slowly to her, saying in a calm voice, "Are you sick?"

Jessica finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Her heart was filled with mixed emotions; she had suffered and didn't dare to tell anyone.

She could only keep it to herself.

James's sudden concern made her feel both touched and guilty.

Suddenly, James threw out a divorce agreement.

"Let's get a divorce. I'll compensate you."

"The 2,000-square-foot apartment in the city center and 14 million dollars should be enough for you to live comfortably for the rest of your life."

Jessica bitterly curled her lips and said, "You have someone else outside?"
