Chapter 6 Filing for Divorce
James nodded, "I want to give her a status."
Jessica was dumbfounded. How could this be? She had been married to James for two years and had never heard any rumors about him.
How could a woman come out of nowhere and make James want to divorce her?
"Have you known each other for a long time?" Jessica was unwilling and curious. Who could move James and let him fall for her?
What kind of woman could easily defeat the marriage which she had painstakingly maintained without even meeting her?
"Met once, yesterday," James' eyes narrowed slightly as he recalled the woman from last night. His heart fluttered when thinking of her. She was his first woman, and no matter what, he would find her and take responsibility for her.
Jessica felt very disappointed at James' response.
'Just once!' Her two years of youth were lost to a woman he had met just once.
"Explain it to Granda. I don't want him to have any problem with her," James brought up the divorce with such a casual attitude as if he were discussing what to have for dinner tonight.
Jessica had been married to him for two years and had never been so cared for by him. He wanted to give another woman a legitimate status.
Jessica felt her eyes sting and ache at this moment. She tried hard to hold back her tears.
After a long while, she took a deep breath and said, "Can you answer one question for me?"
"Go ahead," James' eyes were deep, revealing no emotion.
Jessica looked at him, her voice trembling, "Have you ever had feelings for me, even for a moment?"
James coldly and disdainfully said to Jessica, "Absolutely not!"
After saying this, he left the main bedroom without any hesitation.
Jessica felt a coldness all around her.
It was clearly a hot summer, so why did she feel cold?
Jessica's mind was in a daze. She knew that their marriage would end like this sooner or later.
But when this day actually came, she realized she couldn't bear it and didn't want a divorce at all.
The villa was once again left with only Jessica.
John was always working away. James wanted to divorce her, and Joan and Pearl wished she were dead.
It seemed like the only person she could rely on was her best friend.
She had almost no family or lover.
Jessica took out her phone and dialed her best friend's number.
"Lily Stewart, are you off work? I... I..."
Jessica's voice choked up, and she felt full of grievances, unable to speak.
Lily sensed something wrong and said embarrassingly, "Jessica, what's wrong? Do you want to come to the bar? I'll get a few handsome guys for you."
Lily was Jessica's best friend since childhood. Whenever Jessica had problems, Lily was always there for her. When Jessica was troubled by love, Lily would always advise her, "As long as you change men quickly, there's no harm, only love."
After getting married, Jessica rarely contacted Lily because, as Mrs. Kelly, she had to consider the Kelly Family's reputation so she couldn't play around with Lily.
Anyway, James was going to divorce her, so why should she care about the Kelly Family's reputation?
"Okay," Jessica agreed and immediately set out.
Jessica drove a silver Porsche, a flashy car she rarely used.
As soon as she arrived, Lily waved to greet her.
